An Alligator Hit By A Car In New Bern And The Increase in Gator sightings In ENC (2024)

Brian North caught up with NC Wildlife Biologist Chris Kent at the scene of where an alligator was hit by a car on Neuse Boulevard not far from the Walmart Neighborhood market and Speedway. The car driver was OK and the gator had minor injuries. Chris Kent says the gator will be OK and has been relocated to a more remote area. Kent also talked about the how alligators are not a direct threat to humans, how to act if you see one, and if the population is increasing or if its urban sprawl that is causing more of these interactions.
