Your body is not redeemed yet until the coming of the Lord. How can you be so assured of your own salvation?

The evidence is speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.! That's how God lets YU KNOW he now dwells in your heart

Faith without works is dead. Take a look:
    James 2:26
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
    ames 2:14-26
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? ...
    Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
    1 John 1:9 (NKJV)
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Sins separates us from God, which is why we must repent of our sins.
    Romans 10:9 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

"You can't just believe and be saved. You got to repent and believe". Oh really? Well let's have a quick look at Acts shall we.
    Acts 16:30-31
[30]And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
[31]And they said, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, and THOU SHALT BE SAVED, and thy house.
So if we need to repent of our rebellion to be saved, then Apostle Paul, the great Apostle Paul must have left out vital information when he responded to the question of what one must do to be saved? ......NOT.
The Bible is clear. We are simply to believe. And any other thing to that and you have added works. And we know what the Bible says about works. They are as filthy rags. Anything other than faith, is a work. And we are not saved by works.
    Ephesians 2:8-9
[8]For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9]Not of works, lest any man should boast.
According to Ephesians 2:8-9, faith is not of works.
Faith is the only thing that is not a work. TURNING from your sin, IE STOPPING your sins, repenting of your sin by SAYING you are sorry, ETC are all works. STOPPING, SAYING ETC are all actions/works done by the individual. Faith is not a work. If you have to do any other thing other than believe, you cannot be saved.

@@folewis55 I think chizee 3 is familiar with the verse you quoted from James. But if you are interested in knowing how most of us who believe in Jesus only for our salvation reconcile with the verse please read the link below:

Also, I don't think Romans 6:23 contradicts our belief system because it talks about a gift through JESUS and not works. Neither does 1 John 1:9 contradicts. If you just add verse 8 and 10 also instead of taking verse 9 out of context, we find that this verse is about admitting and accepting that we are sinners. Because often times people who are under the law who have not broken the law will say that they don;t have sin..
      1 John 1:8-10
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

False prophet. Repentance is a change of mind.
