Hey Scotty neutral drop made another video for you.
Scotty I seen you speeding on tobacco rd hahaha.
Very Informative. Thanks for sharing, Lord-Jesus-Christ com
2017 Evora owner here. Scotty is on point 100% This thing drives and handles like a supercar but has a fraction of the maintenance costs,
Also Scotty, it never ceases to amaze me that Toyota had to go the BMW route for the Supra Engines, yet Lotus can take a Toyota engine and make perform like a supercar!
The B58 BMW engine is pretty solid engine.
@Mo Ali That requires more frequent expensive maintenance.
@romesrepublic it's a super car, not a taxi
😊
Scotty, you are getting better cars in your new place than you did in Houston!
Lol everyone just wants to flex on Scotty's channel. Is there even anything that was wrong with this Lotus that he needed to service?
@@flyingfoxbat6721 what?
No crazy Houston property taxes
That's because broke Dems type of people move to Texas, look at what's going with the mass Cali exodus there. Houston is also the worst city in Texas, it's like Chicago 2.0 there with the dramatic increase in crime during this pandemic.
I think it had to do with that Audi that had the engine seized up a few months back that made Scotty leave. He told them for years about Audis but they didn't listen so he said, "I'm done here."
My brother makes the body's for lotus here in northern ireland.
He and his team makes good cars 👍😎
Thats sick
Is that at the old DMC factory in Dummery?
How do they stay sober long enough in Ireland to build them.........
Maybe I can get one for free yeah yeah.
Wife: "Honey, what's the new neighbor yelling about?"
Husband: "I don't know, but now he's revving his engine."
now he has new ones. i seen at least two different people in the background.
No one loves their job more than Scotty.
If you love what you do for a living, you never work a day in your life.
He seems so happy in tennessee 😂
Looks like he can even afford the gardener...
And he will make 10 videos about how much he loves it. And that is just by noon today!
TopGear drivers? ;)
“Give the English a garden shed and they’ll come out with an atomic bomb”
*Colin Furze is typing..............*
Germany: oh no
Colin furze has a channel
Colin Chapman was a automotive genius. He was also a very nice guy - let my friend and I stay in the pit with his team during a Canadian Grand Prix race and qualifying many years ago, "Lads, you can stay with us, just don't get in the way of the mechanics". Used to throw his hat up in the air if his team won the race. A real gentlemen - impossible to find these days in F1 racing.
And a very savvy engineer.
That must have been over 42+ years ago😉
2:35 people be like” why is he yelling ?“😂😂
Ever notice that folks with hearing problems or big egos talk loudly?
They making sure he doesn't drive off.
This dude seems to be always talking in CAPS !!!
I own an evora 400 for past 5 yrs.
Its magnificent!
Its all you Scotty! Thanks for getting us through 2020. Nobody hustles harder on CZcams. Enjoy, be safe, God bless!
@dannyduncan
Good to see Scotty super stoked throughout the video. A Toyota engine in a exotic car got Scotty going crazy.
More, like bat shot crazy. And I enjoy every second of it. 😂
All hail Jim Clark 36/68 the greatest driver ever drove a lotus.
Great video as always. One small comment though: MSRP for a new Evora GT is around $97k, but for this Evora S it was around $76k back then. The current owner paid $56k for it. So a $20k deprecation hit in 7 to 10 years (I'm not sure what year this one is) on a $76k car, although not insignificant, is NOT bad at all, especially for a quirky, low volume British sports car (compare it to the depreciation of a Jaguar or Aston Martin!). Evoras are holding value way better than anyone would've guessed.
As an owner of a lotus I can truly say they are amazing and super reliable cars and the cost of ownership is very low. I would get my fuel pump from the Toyota dealer 😂 for cheap whenever I have to do the oil change. I beat the car and drive it alot and not one problem truly an underrated sports brand
May I ask how old is you Lotus? I am thinking of putting a deposit down for an Emira but not very familiar with Lotus so not sure how reliable to newer cars (Evora) would be. I am thinking about getting the V6 engine as opposed to the I4 AMG engine.
@@ronin120 mines is a 2011 so I would definitely say if you get an Evora go for a 2017 and up not saying they unreliable because they are definitely reliable. It's jus the interior in the newer ones are built better and won't come apart after some time. I'll actually be trading the one I have now for a 2020 Evora.
@@ronin120 if you do go for the emira go for the V6 it will definitely be more reliable then the i4
@@carstech2685 thank you for your response. I am trying to decide between the Lotus Emira or a Porsche Cayman. I was leaning to Porsche as there are many dealerships around me and you see them more so my thinking way parts would be easier to get. I do have a Lotus dealer 10 minutes away from me so that would help but no sure of wait times for repairs. The new Emira looks gorgeous and like the exclusivity of it. Only issue with that thinking is that exclusivity could also cause headaches with repair timing. Maybe best approach is wait to see how first batch of deliveries go before taking the plunge?
@@ronin120 but I guess they're all comes down to where you live because I live in California where Porsches are here you see just as much as Corollas lol
I drive by a Lotus dealer on my way to work. Beautiful things!
3:13 somebody try to walk across Scotty’s house but realised he is videotaping so turned away lol
Scottie truly loves what he does and I find happiness watching his happiness. I need that right now.
I have owned my 2010 Evora for just about 7 years now. Absolutely love it. Lots of quirks I had to fix in the beginning but then super reliable for the last 6 years
What is at beginning you have to fix?
Damn, Scotty is really fired up about this one. I don't think I've seen him this excited in years....😄
Right 😆😅
Can confirm, my lotus evora s cost me about 40 dollars for oil and 6 dollars for the filter, nothing has broke yet 🤞
loved me a Lotus since I was a very young lad.
My uncle bought an S2 when I was 9, love @ first site, drive a 93 Mr2 now
I wanted an Lotus esprit since I was 15. At the age of 38 I bought a Lotus Esprit SE. Owned for 15+ years now and never get tired of it. btw: What other company can you actually chat with the designer (Peter Stevens), engineer and CEO of the company that built your car? Only Lotus!
The 2GR engine in the Lotus is the same exact engine that is in that Sienna, just with a Supercharger, exhaust, and tune. The engine is the same internally.
I actually put the same engine in my MR2. I made my own poor mans Lotus haha.
I love a good lotus! Anyone else?
Yeah my hot wheels lotus is pretty cool
@@blairdrummond5043 🤣🤣🤣
Lotus is underrated. I like lotus because of the uniqueness. I just couldn’t really my future self spending 50,000 just to get something that everyone else has and or wants.
But they don't depreciate.. its cheaper to own them a camry.. my 2011 Evora was 58k new.. 10 years later they still bring 45k
@@blairdrummond5043 🤣🤣
Could torment you neighbors with that thing.
I have never seen Scotty more enthusiastic about any car than he is about the Lotus Evora! .... Makes me want to buy one too!
That animal picture when he Lough always gets me! 🤣🤣🤣
I have never seen scotty as excited as this. Beautiful motor. NOTHING handles like a lotus, wether it's a porsche or ferrari nothing gives the sheer involvement as these do!
Thank you Scotty, for being here and saving us from * endless money pits *
A toyota with fuel pump issue, having to tow it to the dealership shop, having to replace the fuel sending unit, which includes the fuel pump, also labor costs, which I know is very high, and would have to shell out alot of money, I say that toyota is a money pit.
@@theroyalcrownedtiger2946 but it will not breakdown for at least 10 years
They have had toyota engines for a long tome. It’s pretty awesome.
I've owned a 2012, 2016 and now a 2020 Lotus Evora. Absolute best vehicles I've ever owned. Stupid reliable, cheap to maintain and a BLAST to drive. AND you don't really lose any money buying them used. Buy, drive, sell and don't lose anything. So long as you maintain it with records.
6:30 exactly, people will still be astonished whenever they see a Lotus- _despite_ it being a fraction of the cost of supercars
Used to say and I still do: you want fast and agile, Lotus is the car to go to. Used to run with Porsche back in the day, still does. And with the release of the Exige Cup 430, you can eat Ferrari and Lamborghini all day long for breakfast and still say your car didn't cost over 120k, a tenth of the price of the cars that can't keep up.
Looks like some of Scotty’s neighbors are trying to get in his video for their fifteen minutes of fame 😀
Hehe
It's his gardener
In some of the videos it's the owner of the car who gets in the video a little. Sometimes the owner comments and says so...
2:34 This man cracks me up. 😭😭😂 I would know his voice with my eyes closed lol.
Scotty
Your enthusiasm is so entertaining! 99% of the reason why I'm addicted to your videos.
That Ford Maverick looks like an updated Ford Explorer Sport Trac
It’s probably based on the Ford Escape platform
So Maverick = Explorer Sport Trac
Bronco Sport= Escape 2.0
Mustang Mach-E=????
Sorta sad actually.
Like having your favorite pet die and calling your next pet the same name!
Congratulations!!!! You the man! Go Scotty Go!
Scotty,
You are on fire! Great video!
Driving and breaking machines.
You made it possible Scotty. You've saved most of us a fortune over the years! Thank you.
Lotus owners are always interesting characters (myself included), you'll fit right in Scotty!
We have a 3.5 in our Toyota Sienna and it is a really powerful engine. I cannot imagine what having twice the Horsepower would do for you. I have offered to my wife to buy her a new car and she want to keep the Sienna. She has a heavy foot and it is her favorite car of all time.
Just wanted to say, I have been binge watching your videos, you have filled my head full of usefully knowledge and I can not thank you enough for all that you provide. My 05 chevy has some serious issues and I needed info. it all started watching 1 of your videos.. now I can not stop nor will I, the truck will have to wait. Cause your videos are to important to put on hold. Thank you for my new favorite youtube channel and also car guru out there. Happy Holidays.
The happiness in this video is infectious 😁plus it's such a cool car .we love you scotty.keep going strong
The old Lotus Elise had the Toyota 2zz engine.🤤
Second oldest... once they got thru with land rover engines that failed.
This has been my favorite video yet. I wish I would’ve seen this. Years ago when it came out. I learned so much about a lot of different variety of cars, reliable ones fast ones adjustments tuneups tips. This video is outstanding.
Crazy enough, this is my dream car, and like, it's crazy how the same engine is my Avalon! 😃
It's like when I had a Geo Prism and a Toyota Celica. I've gone faster in the Prism because it had better acceleration at higher speeds.
Scotty is lit up for this thing, love it.
Watching your videos cheers me up Scotty, thank you for your attitude to life and knowledge of cars and how to maintain them.
The passers-by seemed to have as much fun as Scotty. 🤣
5:31 It's got anti-theft devices ? Oh sure. It has a manual transmission. Best anti-theft feature in the states.
This is one of the most enjoyable Scotty videos. It is not only very informative but also very funny.
I always listen to ppl 3 times my age cause they been there and done that this mans videos helped me with a few of my cars
Congratulations Scotty! 🎉🎊
Omg this is beautiful she sounds so aggressive .. thanks scotty always a pleasure to be in you company
My first two cars back in the 70s were an MG Midget and a Triumph TR7. they handled incredibly well. I was stationed in San Diego and the Kommifornia models had one barrel carbs. I measured acceleration in furlongs per fortnight.
Another Clarksville Gearhead owner! Thank you as always Scotty for doing this. We greatly appreciate it. 😄
Cracking video always Scotty
Super terrific video Scotty !
It’s wild to me car companies think people want anything else besides reliability.
Jeeps still exist, and they sell lots of them
Many people buy cars for fun or capability.
As stated here, Jeeps are horrifically unreliable, but people buy them for the image and the "capability" even if they don't go off-road.
Likewise, many sports cars aren't all that reliable, but they are very, VERY fun to drive.
Life is too short to drive a Camry.
@Chaminda Thushara Ruwan Kasturi I am more complicated than just wanting one aspect of a car. Hence, why I got a Miata.
@Chaminda Thushara Ruwan Kasturi Nice, I have no reason to have anything more than a Miata. I barely need to use my trunk.
It's because not everyone wants to drive 4 cylinder shitboxes. If people bought cars solely with reliability in mind, we wouldn't have cars like this Lotus because manufacturers wouldn't take chances in their engineering departments to make beast like this. Plus every manufacturer would essentially build the same/identical vehicles as the next and their wouldn't be any variety at all, further making people brand/tag fans as we already do have, but worst. That would result in many manufacturers going bankrupt and many people being laid off from there jobs.
Good morning Scotty for Calgary, like everyone else I love your videos, the time to make them, the research that goes into these videos can't thank you enough Scotty for everything you're honesty your integrity it's truly a pleasure to listen to you.
Merry Christmas ☃️☃️ to you Mrs Scotty and of course the kittys, BTW love the Lotus 💝🌹🔥😎🇨🇦🙏
Appreciate the video from Norfolk England, may work at Hethel 🤫😎
Good afternoon Scotty! Very cool ride, especially with the Toyota motor 🏁👍
afternoon!
Thanks for raising the value of my lotus :)
Scotty's funny as always! I have a good laugh watching these videos...guy is hilarious! keep it up man!! 👍
Yaaaaaaaa, Merry Christmas Scotty.
Frankly I'm amazed that Toyota hasn't bought Lotus by now,as they are clearly their best corporate customers. At the very least, they should've turned over the Supra's design and construction over to Lotus.
awesome that you reviewed an Evora. I own a 2011 model. This particular one you reviewed is interesting because it is a 2011-2014 Evora S everywhere on the outside except for the rear, which looks like the owner had converted to the newer Evora 400 rear end. In that case, this model has 345 hp...but who is counting haha.
Yep I love the 400 rear. It has several engine mods so it is actually around 370. The exhaust mod was the best I think
@@robertlawson2608 cool to hear from the owner. I agree the 400 rear is awesome. is that the plack exhaust? i have a 2011 NA (white w/ black pack, and red/black interior). car looks great dude
@@DavidWilliams-ic1nn good guess. Yep it’s a Plack. Great sounds but not quiet
@@robertlawson2608 lol yep that is what everyone says
I own a 2014 Lotus Evora and the one in the video is indeed a S1 model with an Evora 400 back end. The interior in the Evora is totally different. This one looks just like mine except I have the Suede-Tex package. $56K seems kinda cheap for an Evora 400. I've never seen them cheaper than $67K for a 400. Could be a salvage titile. They have those in California.
You are really enjoying TN my friend - 😂😂😂
Yeah, I didn't realize there was a problem in Texas where people are getting outta there.
I LOVE the 3.5 in my Avalon. So much usable power and its fuel efficent! Delightful
