One of the first things I tried with the infinite ammo launcher was to blow open the door at the start of castle. If you can’t do it with the launcher, I have no faith that you can do it with grenades.

I think I know where the inconsistencies come from fighting Garadors: when the Garadors are at high hp they become vulnerable after that 4 swing sequence, but once they are wounded they start adding turnaround swing to do after that sequence and there won't be a prompt in between. When they're really heavily wounded I think they can do at least 2 turnarounds in a row before they become vulnerable again. Basically they're vulnerable when they're walking around slowly or standing in place moving their head around back and forth from side to side.

The Verdugo you could just use the door skip skill to push Leon to the elevator door, as long as Leon is still aiming down Verdugo only run towrads Leon and will not attack(maybe he will use his tail to attack first then run to Leon). I just try and this works on Professional.
"Can you shoot a grenade" Yes, they're called grenade cartridges and you shoot them out of grenade launchers. That being said, RE4 (both versions of them) is one of the oddball RE games to not have a grenade launcher. I guess the Mine-Thrower and Bolt Thrower kind of fill those roles.

I feel like with how many systems they made for village that wound up being in the 4 remake, it’s inevitable that they will do the same thing for 5. Hell, they already made a decently good partner ai with Louis and Ashley in this game. All they need to do is combine them and add more modes to make Sheva better than the original.

Hey, Waifu, there are already a few character replacement mods out there. You think about doing some "Can you beat RE4 Remake as X?" challenges like you did for the OG? I've tried a "The Fourth Survivor" run where I get to play as Hunk and only use knife, MUP, LE5 and the W-870. It was pretty fun!
I don't count the final rocket launcher myself, since the frugalist achievement in the game (only knifes and handguns) counts this as an exclusion, meaning it doesn't invalidate the run, you should check this achievement progression to see what counrs as an exclusion, I see this run valid enough
few things i noticed. the tripmine you showed in the clip you can crouch under. but you have to tank the rest sadly. body armor helps tho. regenerators you can just stab repeatedly. stab towards the tummy from its right side (or your left) and you should be able to hit 2 of the plagas at the same time. once they break loop behind its back and steb the upper side of its back for the last plaga. its really consistent and quick. if youre behind it it will likely try to swipe you with an armswing wich you can easily parry. the blind guys have QTE behind their back wich does a lot of damage, but the damage to durability ratio is less than stabbing them normally. on NG standard i have to conserve durability because it would take 5 QTE stabs. you can also sneak in a quick stab after the QTE before the second slash (careful about their left claw, it will swipe a bit towards the back, hitting you if you keep stabbing). the explosive barrel in the mendez fight you can kinda dodge by climbing up the ladder, but it has to be timed properly. if youre too late they will hit you while yorue on the ladder, if youre too early he will throw them at the top at the ladder (might get blocked by the beams running acros the ceiling walls). when he goes in for a melee you can kinda get him into an infinite loop if you stand at the right spot on his side. but i never get it. sally bossfight is imo a huge pain (i dont use grenades) but its actually possible to keep looping the knife QTE. tho ive never gone beyond 3 loops. about 7 are required to kill him. im not sure wat exactly triggers the knife QTE over and over again, i usually just try to keep stabbing at his weakpoint as he moves. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt lol.
The fact that someone with 2000 hours in this game still gets hit with the bear traps makes me feel better about getting hit by every single one of them

I've recently finished a No Damage with Knife/Pistol only run at it was very fun to do. Although that "no damage" part was pretty hard in some of the sections, especially annoying arm-grab move in the very last Krauser fight (for which I found no reliable way of dodging other than just running away from him, which is very problematic when fighting him with a knife). The only time I went "knife-only" is during the entire Krauser fight, and I hoarded 4 kitchen knives and had 4 boot knives (+1 in phase 3 fight) and I barely survived with a terrible condition combat knife, that's about it
Probably a dumb question but I’m curious what your favorite weapon is in the remake? Mine is still the Red 9. It does the most damage out of the handguns, ammo is plentiful, and the stock turns it into a rifle.

In my opinion, the cannon sections dont fail the challenge. Because for the minimalist trophy(complete the game with only hanguns and knifes) if you kill enemys with the cannon, it doesnt negate the trophy.
Since shooting guns is mandatory in some sections, the category could be called New Game no Ammo run. Meaning you cannot use any ammo. If its infinite like in the minecart section then its fine. Grenades count as resources, not ammo, and the rocket is an RPG or Rocket Propelled Grenade. Again, resource not ammo.
I got a charm from the token machine that increased critical hits with knifes by 20% I think could be 40 don’t remember . I think it’ll help this run significantly
U can use the rifle glitch to not fight the new u3 to. If you go to the elevator and use the rifle to put ur back into the elevator while you wait for it he won’t hit you.
Btw you can skip the Bitores Mendez boss fight there is a skip where you can crouch and walk backwards when talking to the merchant before the fight if you do it right you will clip through and be able to run on the mountain and walk around the fight skipping it
Soon as I read beat it without shooting any guns. The first area I thought of was the castle where you have to put Ashley on the top balcony or platform to have her raise the two bridge pieces. Then I thought about throwing Grenades. Never thought of doing that on a no gun run.
wish they could make knives throwable/retrievable like bolts to make knife runs possble. that and the option to use your knife during the mine cart section to parry arrows, chainsaws, and throw knives at rerouting signs

The chicken island gold egg is easier to get and you don't have to deal with a room full of enemies to get it

Hey, Waifu, there are already a few character replacement mods out there. You think about doing some "Can you beat RE4 Remake as X?" challenges like you did for the OG? I've tried a "The Fourth Survivor" run where I get to play as Hunk and only use knife, MUP, LE5 and the W-870. It was pretty fun!
i would love to see revalations 1 remade as a full on survival horror, no waves of waves of hunters or brightly lit rooms lol
I don't count the final rocket launcher myself, since the frugalist achievement in the game (only knifes and handguns) counts this as an exclusion, meaning it doesn't invalidate the run, you should check this achievement progression to see what counrs as an exclusion, I see this run valid enough

few things i noticed. the tripmine you showed in the clip you can crouch under. but you have to tank the rest sadly. body armor helps tho.
regenerators you can just stab repeatedly. stab towards the tummy from its right side (or your left) and you should be able to hit 2 of the plagas at the same time. once they break loop behind its back and steb the upper side of its back for the last plaga. its really consistent and quick. if youre behind it it will likely try to swipe you with an armswing wich you can easily parry.
the blind guys have QTE behind their back wich does a lot of damage, but the damage to durability ratio is less than stabbing them normally. on NG standard i have to conserve durability because it would take 5 QTE stabs. you can also sneak in a quick stab after the QTE before the second slash (careful about their left claw, it will swipe a bit towards the back, hitting you if you keep stabbing).
the explosive barrel in the mendez fight you can kinda dodge by climbing up the ladder, but it has to be timed properly. if youre too late they will hit you while yorue on the ladder, if youre too early he will throw them at the top at the ladder (might get blocked by the beams running acros the ceiling walls). when he goes in for a melee you can kinda get him into an infinite loop if you stand at the right spot on his side. but i never get it.
sally bossfight is imo a huge pain (i dont use grenades) but its actually possible to keep looping the knife QTE. tho ive never gone beyond 3 loops. about 7 are required to kill him. im not sure wat exactly triggers the knife QTE over and over again, i usually just try to keep stabbing at his weakpoint as he moves. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt lol.
At the elevator, you can kill the red zealot with the spike ball if you pull the level and start the elevator asap!
The fact that someone with 2000 hours in this game still gets hit with the bear traps makes me feel better about getting hit by every single one of them

Really cool video! It's always great to see people do challenges like that. I've recently finished a No Damage with Knife/Pistol only run at it was very fun to do. Although that "no damage" part was pretty hard in some of the sections, especially annoying arm-grab move in the very last Krauser fight (for which I found no reliable way of dodging other than just running away from him, which is very problematic when fighting him with a knife).

The only time I went "knife-only" is during the entire Krauser fight, and I hoarded 4 kitchen knives and had 4 boot knives (+1 in phase 3 fight) and I barely survived with a terrible condition combat knife, that's about it

Probably a dumb question but I’m curious what your favorite weapon is in the remake? Mine is still the Red 9. It does the most damage out of the handguns, ammo is plentiful, and the stock turns it into a rifle.
For me it takes up too much space, no laser compatibility, and bad stats except spread and damage

The best is probabaly the default/sentinel 9, it gets laser sight and can one tap with High crit chance

@@Dino9474 in og re4 it was red 9 cuz less sway and more efficient ammo usage, in remake it's sentinel/blacktail depending on whether or not i wanna save inventory space or get head pops
I would also argue the bolt thrower is allowed because its technically being launched and not fired with gunpowder

I don't know if you know yet (I myself didn't because I don't use accessories) but you can prevent yourself and ashley from any stun effects from a flashbang if you have sunglasses on
In my opinion, the cannon sections dont fail the challenge. Because for the minimalist trophy(complete the game with only hanguns and knifes) if you kill enemys with the cannon, it doesnt negate the trophy.
If Remake 4 was “it’s own game” it would have been an achievement… but thankfully the Waterroom end section exists, let there be “minimalist”!
pro tipp ashley dosent get flashed if she wears sunglasses
Since shooting guns is mandatory in some sections, the category could be called New Game no Ammo run. Meaning you cannot use any ammo. If its infinite like in the minecart section then its fine. Grenades count as resources, not ammo, and the rocket is an RPG or Rocket Propelled Grenade. Again, resource not ammo.
I got a charm from the token machine that increased critical hits with knifes by 20% I think could be 40 don’t remember . I think it’ll help this run significantly

U can use the rifle glitch to not fight the new u3 to. If you go to the elevator and use the rifle to put ur back into the elevator while you wait for it he won’t hit you.

Btw you can skip the Bitores Mendez boss fight there is a skip where you can crouch and walk backwards when talking to the merchant before the fight if you do it right you will clip through and be able to run on the mountain and walk around the fight skipping it
Soon as I read beat it without shooting any guns. The first area I thought of was the castle where you have to put Ashley on the top balcony or platform to have her raise the two bridge pieces. Then I thought about throwing Grenades. Never thought of doing that on a no gun run.

wish they could make knives throwable/retrievable like bolts to make knife runs possble. that and the option to use your knife during the mine cart section to parry arrows, chainsaws, and throw knives at rerouting signs

You can use the knife in Vr as a range weapon. I play the game in Vr and 1 hour later I beat Ramōn with only by throwing my knife
If they do remake RE5, they need to keep the boulder punching scene. It’s iconic, it’s needed just like Leon’s bingo line.
Have it be even more epic with different camera angles and slow motion.
If the 5 remake connects to the 2, 3, and 4 remakes, then for selfish reasons I hope it doesn't so I can have more proof that the RE Engine remakes aren't canon, and that originals still are since the boulder scene is referenced in RE8.
Hey waifu Incase you didn't know you can skip the first village fight in this game by shooting the churches bell. If your going to Speedrun this game properly you should do this skip to save time.
