    Hi guys, Is there any chance you can create an 18th edition playlist so the videos go through in the order of the book please? I'm finding the videos really useful, helpful and straight to the point but I am having trouble following them. For example I've now completed chapter 41 but can't find one for thermal effects. Thanks again guys, cracking tool these

      Hi Tom. We only covered chapter 41 of Part 4 (at the moment). We can't do every page of the book in just 15 minutes at a time, but we do try to give you a heads up on each part or section. Must look at doing a playlist, good idea.
      Here is a list of the 18th Edition videos so far, with their links. Thanks. Dave.

    Dave excellent content.
    As you shows how table 41.1 applied to fix connect equipment not exceeding 32A but my question is shower circuits are fixed and sometime they have MCB of higher than 32A so would their disconnection time be 5seconds same as distribution circuit and not final circuit?
    Thanks again for the great help

    • @learnelectrics4402
      @learnelectrics4402  Před rokem

      They are a final circuit and this puzzled me at first. But, they should be 30mA RCD protected in which case they achieve less than 0.3 seconds (300mA) AND a 40A Type B MCB will normally achieve a disconnection time of around 0.1 to 0.4 seconds anyway, regardless of Final or Distribution circuit. Hope this helps and thanks for your support. Dave.

    How many vids are you going to make on the eighteenth edition Dave?

    • @learnelectrics4402
      @learnelectrics4402  Před 3 lety +1

      I have about 5 planned. Why? Do you want more.
      The important thing Andy is to make sure that you chaps have the best chance of passing, I'm trying to give the key exam points from 2 hours of classroom in 15 minutes, and to give you plenty of typical exam questions. Thanks for watching, it is appreciated. Dave.

    • @learnelectrics4402
      @learnelectrics4402  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks Andy. We'll finish part 4 this week.
      Part 7 is just repetition. The question will always tell you which section, look at the list on page 3 and then it's only a case of looking through 4 or 5 pages at most. Lots of things are IPX4, extra low voltage, separated, touching distances etc.
      Don't worry, we'll get you there. Dave.

      This video is for Amendment 1 of the Regs, the BLUE book as shown on the first slide. If you are sitting the Amendment 2 exam, the brown book then go to LearnElectrics.com and put Amendment 2 into the search box. You will get a list of links to videos and questions on 18th Edition Amendment 2. Dave.

    Does the exam show you what part in the book the question is based on? this would make the exam easier, if it did. I have 2 exam simulators, one of them does this and the other doesnt.

    • @learnelectrics4402
      @learnelectrics4402  Před rokem +1

      I'm afraid not. That's why I teach people to use page 3 and keywords from the questions to find the correct Part.
      Usually, but not guaranteed, the questions follow the order of the book. but don't count on it. I've replied to another comment of yours, go to LearnElectrics,com and put Amendment 2 into the search bar - you will get a list of lots of AMD2 videos with current questions and answers. Good luck. Dave.

      41.1 is 0.4 second disconnection time which makes it a Final circuit. dave.

    These videos are VERY helpful. However, please stop saying it couldn't be easier.... it's only easy when you know it.
    Question at 14:39. How do you find that? Nothing in the question really leads you to Additional Protection, supplementary protective equipotential bonding....
