    Great way of getting photos off of the cloud and onto your local storage too (locking photos moves them from the cloud and secures them on your device)

      @eladbari Před 3 lety +1

      But what if I also need to have this image backed in the cloud just have a lock on it? No option to secure it within Google Photos cloud as well?

      @@eladbari right, you'd need to upload it again to have an extra copy in the cloud

    Never used pixel before, is this new feature as easy to use as samsung's secure folder? Can this be used with fingerprint security?

    I used the option to move a photo from the locked folder but it didn't tell me where it moved it to. Any idea where it went?

      Find the "utilities" little tab and click on it and it will pop up some other tabs and just scroll down a bit and there it will say "locked folder"

    Wanted to ask how can you access these files when you're viewing Google Photos on your Desktop PC? No lock pattern on a desktop..so how will you access them?
    Now, realizing these locked files won't be available on the cloud/Google Photos. So what's the point? No way to keep them online, just locked under a password?

      If you delete the app the locked folder images are gone forever. It's great for security.

      Figured out this problem. Open the camera app, on the upper right hand corner there should be a folder icon. Select then you should see the Locked Folder option. If you don't have that set up it will redirect you to set it up.

    • @reboot7507

      Locked folder images need to be manually moved to the new device. They won't be part of the backup or device switch.
      Move them out of locked folder. They will be backed up in cloud then in new device move them back to locked folder.
