A few tips. DON'T! Pledge more than 45-60$. It's better to upgrade to your preferred ship later on after you flew in it and so on. Plus all the ships (Except capitals) will be available for purchase in-game. Don't become like me. A person who bought enough pledges to become the highest rank of Concierge (needs 3000$) and is now a slave to the game since I have too much money in the game.
Also if you want to buy a special pledge its better to wait until citizen con or when the pledge will be LTI for a limited time. This game is all about patience.

The fact that you feel like you're a slave to the game is only an indication that you went in without knowing what you are doing and set yourself up with the wrong motivations right from the beginning.

Anything other then a SSD will have huge loading times and be unstable due to the size of the data being loaded.

The Carrick is a large military Pathfinder/exploration vessel and is not a Corvette.
Corvette size and capabilities may vary nation-to-nation & fleet to fleet but they are the smallest class of Navy "warship" with features and armament to support that role, war/combat.
Currently in Star Citizen there is only one Corvette, the Polaris. if you have the Hammerhead available in game it shows the class/role as Corvette but the store page for the ship still describes it as a heavy gunship.
store page is an unreliable narrator, and even then ship class is wonky with scifi for various reasons.
I personally would say something between the hammer head and Idris is the equivalent to a Corvette when you think about months of sustainment power.
I’d say the Hammerhead is more of a OPV/Cutter at 110m.
There no real Corvette in game to my mind.
The Normandy sr1 was more of a Corvette,

A corvette is typically the smallest warship in a fleet that is capable of operating independently. In that sense, I’d say the Carrack would qualify as being a corvette. Another definition is a small warship designed for convoy escort duties, in which case the Carrack would not be a corvette. Basically, it depends on your definition of a corvette.
For further reference, the Hammerhead is a corvette in Star Citizen.
It checks both boxes.

Wow, it's been 2 years, and honestly, not a lot has happened in star citizen. The game still looks gorgeous, but it's being updated so slowly, progress do be seeming slow and insignificant.

I did the same. I finally upgraded my entire computer so now I can actually play after 3 years of just looking at the RSI launcher. Its incredibly atmospheric.

This is Star Citizen. A bunch of friends getting together, having crazy adventures and fun. Vehicles, ships, ships within ships. Flying. Driving. Turrets. FPS combat! A great video that shows the possibilities of this game you can do right now. Good job!

Imagine trying to clear out an outpost when all of a sudden a carrack arrives, guns blazing, launching a handful of snub fighters and dropping two fully loaded rovers from a kilometer above the ground. How is one meant to prepare for that?

Definitely Empire. The cockpit supports, little tie wings, blocky triangular hull shape
5:24 I really hope one day CIG make the design choice to dim/remove the constant holographic indicators. Since so much of this game is in darkness/space they are first of all really blinding and second turn it into an arcad-y experience. At the timestamp you are not shooting at a turret, you are simply shooting at a giant holographic cartoon of a turret, which reveals where the turret is anyway. This is also prominent at 14:30 where instead of watching an awesome landing of a huge ship next to you, pretty much all you can see is a stream of nametags which are way too bright for the surrounding environment.
Just compare 18:47 with 18:52 why not have the view from the cockpit be *closer* to the no hud view, with minor elements such as gun pips, eliminating gigantic targeting reticles.
OMG his character hit box thing at 10:24 is broken and looks disturbing.

While theCarrack is mainly an explorer, it can be used in a lot other roles, a space camper with a small Racer in the Hangar, traveling to different Races, and camping out near the course. Providing Medical Assistance and rescue efforts. Carry an Argo Cargo, and help support a Mining operation even use your cargo bays to store full cargo containers from the Orion. The Carrack has multiple roles it can get into. The Cargo capacity makes it a good trade ship too.

I remember when I was in my carrack just exploring the city of site 18 and this hammerhead out of no where zoomed past me, shot my shields down, and ran. I chased it down and killed it man I was so lucky. The only reason I survived is cause I had a crew of 10 (5 of them engineers)XD. I’m the best captain ever..

Bought the UEE 2948 Package about 4 months before the major price hike. Over $400 increase. I absolutely love my Carrack Expedition.
Going off of Dreadnought and it's ship classifications, I would say that the exploration vessel does count as a civilian corvette, possibly a cruiser.
Downloading this game RN. I bought a pledge pack when it was first in Alpha years ago and left when there was nothing in the game. Looks like there's a lot more in the game now.

Regarding the question about if the carrack is a corvette.... I beleive usually corvette is a term reserved for combat oriented ships of a similar size class to the carrack...
Doing anything without a reflective belt is 10x more dangerous
