I have the 1L version, from Japan. I like that car a lot, + the engine is so smooth and refined, though it's over 20 years old...

Hello from Ukraine! Got mine from Germany three years ago, 1.4 SE+, 136.000 km at the moment. I'm planning to do a full restoration as the sills are already rotting, this car deserves all the attention

I got my K11 more than 3 years ago. The turbo-charger on my 1999 SAAB 9-5 had blown at ~ 350.000 km and it simply wasn't economical to repair my SAAB. Back then I needed a car with MOT as fast as possible and some lad in my village had a K11 Micra for sale with 6 months of MOT left. I just picked this car, as back then my thoughts were that this Micra would be nothing else than an interim solution until I found something 'better'. It turned out that I was totally wrong ... I'm still driving my K11 on a daily basis and I love it.

We have three in my family. Two 1.0L, one a preface lift and the other a 2nd facelift. Also have a 1997 1.3L Super S/SR. The original bill of sale for my 2nd facelift was £5204 plus £382 of optional extras + VAT, dated 13/12/01. Love these Micras, will always have at least one in my possession XD.

I bought my Micra with about 180 000 Km on it. It still drives fine. Those Micras are Bulletproof.

Nice review :) Used to have similar last facelift silver 2001 K11 Micra with 1,0 litre engine as well (Finnish spec) from 2008 to 2011. Indeed the silver paint started flaking off from the rear hatch, when the car was about 9,5 years old. Seems to be common problem in these cars.
Pretty practical for it's size, good boot space, and my car had even 60/40 folding rear seat and heated driver's seat, even it was the most basic trim level (Micra Hit).
Rear brakes had to be replaced and lastly check engine came on with system too lean fault code, but it was never resolved properly as I replaced the car with new Suzuki Alto in 2011. The code was cleared, but the check engine light came back after a while.

Make it a habit: when unscrewing the oil filler cap, put it on the bonnet lock so you cannot possibly close the bonnet without removing that filler cap from there.

Late k11 Micras still are good looking cars. I had brief use of a 1.0 s and used my Mum's 1.4 2002 Micra activ these are decent cars. The 1.4 is the better engine, a lot more rapid.

The K11 and the MX-5 are the only cars I have had two of. My first was a 2001 1.4 manual which my little bro put an induction cone on which made it surprisingly loud when revved.
My 2nd is a 1.0 Tempest in grey with a spoiler and 2 doors, still have it after 3yrs of ownership and 25k miles. It's currently on 110,000 miles and still drives the same it did at 85k. Mine is rare as the paint is still great. I've replaced the fan speed module (in the passenger footwell) which took 4mins and otherwise I change oil every 6k miles or 6 months and it's full major service with a few extra repairs just cost me £265 a few weeks ago.
I have had and will continue to have nicer cars but the K11 will always serve as a perfect 2nd car as it never lets me down and costs nothing to own. Long live the K11.

Hello from Vietnam! These cars really are one of the good ones ever, I can fit my son in the car and he is very, VERY fat. And we can fit my wife’s parents, and their best mates in there too, all 16 of us! Thanks
