Excellent & professional video. Seem much more knowledgeable than most of the "youtube tech gurus" combined. Cheers, Mike. Thanks for cautioning the drawbacks of No-Code tools in the video, most people wouldn't.

Thanks for sharing the positive feedback. I appreciate it. Platform risk is also a big one. If you choose a platform to build on and they change pricing or functionality, you’re beholden to the new pricing model or implementing the changes they force on you. If your entire app is built on the platform, moving away to another provider has a big cost in time and effort.

Mike, I'm a small business owner and thinking I should at least get an estimate on a custom app and compare pros/cons with a No Code type of app. Before that I don't want to waste anybody's time and need to have my ducks in a row for an efficient conversation. Do you have a template for info I should have prepared prior to any consultation or would a simple process flow infographic be good enough? Thanks!

I wouldn't go too crazy up front with thoughts on how the app should work, the right partner will help you define how the app should work based on business goals. If you have some process flow info or any other supporting documentation already written, it doesn't hurt to share that with a potential app partner. The key thing you want to share is a document with the following: short summary of the business the app is for, the goals the app should deliver for your customers, and key features you think are must haves for the app. Spend the most time on thinking through your key features. Provide 2 buckets, 1) must haves and 2) nice to haves. For an initial build, the smaller you can keep your features, the less it costs for you in budget and time. The right partner will help you review the feature list and devise a strategy for tackling those. Most likely, you'll end up with most of your must haves and some of your nice to haves. Hope that helps.

As Security architect; If I’m unable to examine every bit of the code and test run every line. The app will be out of compliance and rejected

@@MikeMunroe Thanks for shedding some light on this issue. Specially now it’s more important than ever before with AI writing the codes and packing the apps. Welcome to YT Mike, looking forward to see more contents from your channel

Don't some of these tools let you export all the code?

@@Lucromick13 Draftvut and Flutterflow should have code export functionality, but from what I know, the others do not. Bubble, another large no code player also does not allow for exporting of code.
