So I thought my 360 power supply was done for I tried multiple things for about 30 mins then I came across your video and I don't know which step did it but it's working now. You deserve a like good sir.
Just had a similar problem on my Xbox 360 (not slim) ... loud fan noise on startup, but no startup, and a red dot where the green dot should be on the front of the box. Sure enough, the left USB port had a bent pin that was against the inside wall of the port. Grabbed a precision screwdriver, bent the pin away from the side wall and the other pins, plugged the box back in, turned it on, and it started up! Thank you very much for your informative video! :)
Thank you so much, saved my butt. My daughter had been jamming the controller into the socket and bent up the contacts. This fix saved me so much be use i have a moddded box. Priceless!!!
Bruh your the best....thanks for the help. i was freaking out lol. the usb port thing help my xbox works now. hopefully you get blessed with a free xbox one x for this.
After 2 years of not being able to fix mine the stupid problem was that stupid bent usb wires! This is amazing! I fixed mine after 2 years because of this video
Just a note of real thanks man...thought I was going to have to replace my sons Xbox just a few weeks from Christmas. Turns out the prongs were bent in the USB port just like you said causing a short.
I checked the usb chords, but hardly gave it a glance...After watching your video...sure enough the protector was out and the pins bent. tweased them straight and all is well! thanks for the post..really helped me out
Thanks so much for this video I had this problem about 3 minutes ago and it worked all I did was took my hard drive out and tried to turn it on and it made noises but didn't show a green light then I put the hard drive back in unplugged it from the wall and plugged it back in and it fixed it so thanks again
Yooo thank youuu ! My xbox 360 had a problem but i fix it by watching you. My problem was hdm cable and it was broken or smth . Now I changed my hdm cable and it work i try so many things but hdm new cable was the best option! If you guys have a problem that you turn on your xbox and it show green light but it won’t load you have to do just change hdm cable or some others cables if you try everything besides this .
THANKS BRO! This worked for me. I had to get some tweezers and one of the USB pins in the front was bent down, i got pulled it back up and my slim turned on straight away. THANKS MAN
@@idelhousseabdellah i’m not sure what you’re referring to, but you can get an error code by holding the sync button and then pressing eject four separate times, each press of eject shows you a different number of ring flashes, four lit up is 0, so for mine i got “0-1-0-1”, you can look up the specific error code to see if it helps!
My issue ended up being the USB ports. My wired controller is evidently too heavy for the sockets to support, so looks like I have to go wireless. Thanks for the video good man.
Mine has a similar problem. However, I get a green light on my power box, and all I get is the fan turning on on top. I've unplugged everything, and I mean everything and plugged it back in. It's not my HDMI cord. I checked the cord on my pc and it's working just fine. I notice that when I plug in my wired controller I get 4 green rings, but they don't spin and only end up with the 1 that every other controller ends up having. I tried it without the wired controller, same problem. I checked the hard drive as well. I'm taking it to Gamestop tomorrow to see if it's my HDMI port on the 360, and I'm gonna have to resort to using composite cables. My HDMI port may be done. Another key part to the problem could be do to the fact that I've left background downloads enabled. Tonight when my Xbox wouldn't turn on all the way it acted like it was still on. So, this means that because I had enabled background downloads it acted like it either needed to stay on for whatever reason, or it thought it had a download going on. The second thing I haven't mentioned yet is I use a wireless receiver for my headset. I never unplug it, and it uses power from the Xbox EVEN WHEN IT'S TURNED OFF because the power box still gives the Slim a very low state power. I would suggest to anyone reading to disable background downloads, and always unplug any USB cord from your Xbox that uses some type of power. This could have drained power and its lifespan but I COULD BE WRONG. However, ever since I enabled background downloads I started to notice my 360 wouldn't always shut down completely, even though the power was off once or twice every few weeks or month. Hope everyone with this same problem finds a solution. My Xbox may have died. I enjoyed many years of awesome entertainment, but it may be time to move on to an Xbox One :) Good luck to all those looking for a solution!
TO EVERYONE WHO DID ALL THIS AND IT DIDNT WORK,IF U OPEN UR XBOX,LOOK FOR A CHIP THAT SAYS HANA WRITTEN ON IT,FROM THAT POINT,LOOK FOR 2 SOLDER POINTS THAT LOOK LIKE SOMETHING WENT THERE,IT DID,THERE WAS TTHIS SILVER RECTANGLE LOOKING PIECE THAT WENT THERE,FIND ONE OF THEM AND SOLDER IT BACK ON
hey guys, does anyone know if my power-brick is done for. I was playing the xbox normally, everything fine when suddenly the power in my house went out for like 5 seconds then came back on its own. The xbox entirely shut off, but somehow the power supply ? was still on and running. I unplugged and tried turning everything back on but ever since that happened, whenever i plug in the power box only THAT turns on but not the xbox. Thankfully though i had another power-brick that i use and xbox works fine with it. Is it just the power-brick that fried and needs to be tossed out? Lol
I have the same prob except it wasn't a power outage for me .... I just noticed the power brick was really hot so I unplugged it to cool...now I get the orange light but no power to the box. It's making a weird noise tho and there's a slight flicker in the light....idk
I recently opened up my Xbox, and put it back together completely, then I tried turning it on with the button but that didn't work. Then I turned my controller on and the console turned on, but I wasn't able to turn it off with the button, I had to unplug it from the wall. My power brick light was orange. Please help!

Then I turned my controller on and the console turned on, but I wasn't able to turn it off with the button, I had to unplug it from the wall. My power brick light was orange. Please help!
i would use something plastic if you have to bend back those pins. capacitors hold a charge even after unplugged.
