LL is a BEAST on the mic and will battle rap anyone before they even realize they got dissed. He talked to his "mamma" before he started this album and this song was in response to critics and emcees thinking he was goin "radio/soft" from his previous album's huge single - I Need Love(also and still dope song), that blew up when it came out. I know this phrase gets thrown around a lot now, but he is the definition of G.O.A.T. and coined the term....

LL been that dude ever since the torch was passed down to Him from Run Dmc. LL Cool J always had that aggressive Oldschool Hip Hop B.Boy Style Especially on his 1st And 2nd Album. Both Of these albums Is what got LL in the game Lyrically Back then. That's what that line ''Don't Call It A Come Back I been Here for years'' Refers to. Letting people know He was still that dude at that time in 1990'' This song And Jack The Ripper were both diss tracks. We all know to Who.🎶🔥😎

Hes a House Party slayer especially probably back in dem days when you had to earn ya respect in order to rock tha Mic. 9/10 I also, heard most MCs started out DJing before ever getting on as an artist or taken seriously🙏🙏

I recommend you to react to "Death Blow" by Kool Moe Dee, which is a great response to this... diss track :p It wasn't also first one during their beef, which actually caused a lot of great music both sides 😅

It seems weird but back in the day sometimes parents would encourage their kids to fight another kid. Growing up in that era getting into fights was pretty common and parents used to encourage kids to fight back and not run. Even forcing you to go back out and fight someone if you ran. So when momma says knock you out, you know it's on. That's kinda the scenario he's referencing.

This song lead arguably the greatest comeback in hip hop history.

Dope I kinda like this song 1 because its gotta groove feel dat sounds like you can party back probably in dem days house partys n stages, arenas you name it. But also, the expression in the way he was stretching n using those words across made me feel like he was serious but also goes along with the chorus. Because, when Moms gets involved you damn sure better deliver lmao salute king🙏🙏

You should react to Rock the Bells the original version. Not the radio version but the B side. It’s a track a lot of people missed out on. You only knew about it if you bought the 12” of Rock the Bells.
