  • Eastman has finally released their first venture into solid body guitars: The Juliet! She's the Shakespearean counterpart to the earlier released 'Romeo'. These star-crossed lovers represent the innovations Eastman is making to the electric guitar whilst remaining timeless, classic and familiar.
Pepijn 't Hart, Eastman's global product manager, stopped by to have a chat with Coen about these new models. Watch this video to find out more and even hear a story of how one of our own employees inspired the finish choices on these guitars!

Played a Pomona Blonde Juliet at a local music shop and it is truly one of the best guitars I have ever played. I recently acquired a T386 second hand and I will definitely be acquiring a Juliet in Pomona Blonde soon. It is so unique and the Bare Knuckle Old Guards are truly special pickups. Well done Eastman!

We're fans of the Bare Knuckle Old Guards as well! Eastman is making some exceptionally guitars these days. You've got something great to look forward to then! 😉

Awesome to see someone doing something new.

Prachtige gitaren. Heb zelf een Eastman T184 MX gekocht uiteraard bij TFOA. één van de beste gitaarmerken in die prijsklasse.

Love this design and it’s so refreshing to see Eastman doing something original and being successful doing it. I can see a blonde in my future!

These are really something. My ideal would be the P90 version but in blonde.

I picked up the p90 version. The neck is large. But plays and sounds great.

What kind of electronics do they have…all soldered parts or PCB? Thanks.

Why doesn’t anyone at the marketing department ever thinks about the fact that Romeo & Juliet is a tragedy in which both lovers die at the end 😬🙃😂😏

I guess it's our time to make history now haha, keep those guitars away from each other! :p

Don't know. There's something weird about this guitar. Is it the egg-shaped outline? The design doesn't work for me. I love Romeo though...

I am not that enthusiastic about this brand. And also not about how management talks about their ‘achievements’. For me their story started and continues to be a producer of copy-cat guitars of American iconic designs. No matter if you look at their acoustics or electrics. A pure marketing engine with an extended work bench in the Far East. Therefore I am not sure if this is now the moment to celebrate that they finally have come out with their (second) own designed guitar. They should have done this in the first instance.

Understandable Michael, thanks for sharing your honest opinion! If I may continue the discussion though, why change a winning team? ;)
The American-made classics are arguably great designs which Eastman is further perfecting, especially in their price range. For the money, there are few guitars that sound this good. I think it's good someone is challenging Martin & Gibson at their own game.

I am afraid to say that their story is all about cheap labour. He said it himself when it came to pickups and parts. Here they go out shopping at the Lollars and others. Same with their effort to design the new one. It seems it was literally done over the weekend (sketch, CNC did a quick styrofoam, …). This didn’t sound to me like a thorough well thought through design process.… It is uninspiring and his words gave prove to that (in my view).

Copycat done way better. Apart from Rickenbacker, are there any big name brands not making guitars in the Far East? I would take Eastman over Gibson any day of the week.

My take; in the scheme of things the iconic guitar designs - steel string flat-top, electric solid body - are all very new, less than 100 years old. Of course they should be copied!! And refined. Eastman are 1/3 the price of the US originals and hand made. Yes the labour is cheaper in China, but I would hope the Eastman luthiers are fairly paid.
