this video is the longest ive ever spent on editing. it took literally forever to finish it up, with all the recordings, editing, scripting and rendering. im proud to say that this is finally finished and hopefully it'll be well received, as i find this video very interesting myself
ive had this video idea for a very long time and i saw someone had already tried this themselves. it had many faults and problems however so i figured i would do my attempt in the most unsubjective way possible; simply following what was considered the hardest demon at the time across the 6 years this game has existed
i believe i have with the help of others finally come up with a list that represent every hardest demon properly, going from the first demon to ever exist in the game all the way to the currently hardest rated demon in the game. i will not be listing the levels in the description as you will have to find out what can be found on your own, as im certain most of you dont know all of these levels - Hry
one thing i forgot to mention for Sonic Wave; even with the second version being rated it eventually lost it after Cyclic got tired with hacker accusations, updated it to Cyclic on Track and the level was unrated
also, Erebus' song is removed cause dodging its copyright is literally impossible

I like how the earliest demons were plain as a chessboard in a visual sense, yet still just as good in terms of mindfuckery and the inducing of headaches as the newer levels.

Future Notes: (5/19/2021)
Tartarus:
This level was openly hack verified by Riot as a way to challenge the community to beat such a difficult level, citing that it was possible. Dolphy beat this in Feb 2020 and it was rated and placed at #1. Although the race was on to prove Dolphy as a hacker, after multiple tries and lots of money spent, the race was called off and Tartarus remained at #1 until May 2020, and from September 2020 to the present day.
The Golden:
This level was created before Bo confessed to hacking and was meant to surpass Tartarus by a huge margin, however when nSwish was given verifier status, Bo requested that the level be nerfed to the version we have today. When nSwish verified the level in May 2020, it was deemed even harder due to the 3X speed constant and the almost impossible waves.
However, after seeing the consistency in the wave and the ship and how closely the clicks sound, the list team deemed that this level was a hair easier than Tartarus, and thus the two levels were swapped.

This was a huge trip down memory lane. I remember when demon park got released and me and all of my friends went insane trying to beat it. We all thought it was impossible and the peak of demon difficulty. God damn we were wrong...
Well it makes sense to think that since there were so few things to use in levels back in the day so the peak difficulty back then was different.
Imagine if zodiac was released at that time
This was a big nostalgia trip. I remember when Cataclysm was the talk of town and Bloodbath being verified, taking that away. I was there for the entirety of Yatagarasu's and Bloodlust's history and remember being astonished at the best players verifying them. I even remember when people would argue over Erebus and Yatagarsu: "Which one was harder?" Now what's this? Zodiac? I quit months ago, so I'm a bit out of the loop with this one. Regardless, this was a nice trip down memory lane for me.

i quit at the middle of 2.1, so this really hit me hard. i’m tempted to get the game back but i have to buy it again for some reason (i’m broke that’s why i can’t get it) so yea, it brings back memories for me too, i remember watching riot verify bloodbath live, and sharing the excitement of badly beating it in practice mode to feel like i’d be in that position one day. good times.

I think that it bears mentioning that while Crimson Planet was only top one on the list for a brief moment, it was the hardest thing beaten, though unrated, for almost a whole year, and that entire time it had no victors. Wooshi is probably the most underrated player in GD history for that alone.

The secret way was also originally intended to be unreachable (it was not used by BlackP2sFull to verify the level). But Cyclic somehow managed to use it in 1.9 anyway.
