After 5 years of watching Robert and Aaron's story this is how they choose to end it so disrespectful to the fans I think I'm done watching goodbye Emmerdale
Yes but they could have done it with more dignity had Aaron go through more emotional distress like a normal couple would and I don't know about you but I would have never given up on my husband I wouldn't care how far I had to travel I wouldn't care what he did it would take years of him rejected me before I would give up one letter and Aaron's throwing in the towel nobody in real life would ever do that nobody
ps g completely agree!! The writers are incredibly wrong for letting the story take this route. Aaron shouldn’t have been so quick at giving up and packing his things when the divorce letter came. If he loves him as much as he said, any rational person wouldn’t have given up! Thts just my opinion
i have been following this storyline and i think that Robert is only thinking of Aaron, especially with Rob in prison for so long, he wants Aaron to move on
This storyline is completely unrealistic nobody in prison want s to block their family from writing them calling them are visiting them especially the person they're married to or to hear about their son the whole thing is completely unrealistic and I'm speaking from experience cuz I went to prison for five years and I craved every phone call every letter everything and I didn't see my children for 14 years now I'm back with them and everything is great I have eight grandkids that I never met we've all been back together for 2 years and we're loving it . so for someone to think that this is a realistic storyline that Robert would block even his sister , not knowing anything about his on son . 14 years it's not like he has 50 years sentence he'll get out he'll still be in his forties he'll have 40 years of life left to enjoy his kids grandkids and so on and Erin the whole thing is completely bull s***

He does not want Aaron stopping his life for 14 years just visiting him, it's cruel, he obviously cares about him for Gods sake, that is the entire reason he is doing it, so Aaron can move on. What father would want his son visiting him on prison and for murder?
I found their story by accident and got hooked. Haven’t seen the show entirely because they don’t give it here in the states but I’ve tried to search for all the videos of them possible and I still can’t understand why they are ending Roberts character and why like this of all ways??? Such a horrible ending it actually hurts my heart. Both actors are so incredible tht they MAKE YOU FEEL their love, their relationship’s ups and down! They’re chemistry is outstanding and for them both to be straight and be soo incredibly convincing when playing a gay couple, tht speaks volumes!!! This is unacceptable and truth be told, someone should start a petition of some sort to bring the character back and if he really wants to leave then at least let them have a happier ending then this! It’s just wrong
The saddest part in this series is , if emmerdale know that Ryan decided to leave the show they he should find a way to give them happy ending or something is nice rather than this onoing storyline , prison ,, bala,,ba,,,,,,, la,,,I hated it emmerdale make it worse in these entire history of bl tv show,,

Characters visit other characters off-screen many times like Ross & Rebecca, Annie Sugden, Daz Spencer, etc. Also, the producer's are splitting up Charity & Vanessa this month as well. This isn't just about Ryan leaving, this is about them splitting up the two remaining LGBT couples in Emmerdale within a matter of weeks. That really frustrates me!

I heard a rumor that Danny is also tired of playing a gay character but maybe wasn't willing to also just leave the show. Then it would make sense that he also pushes for any reminders to Robert to be erased and Aaron just being portrayed as the troubled, haunted, non-sexual bad-ass. That would also mean not pairing him with anybody again but even if the producers want to get rid of all the LGBTQ story lines - those are the ones that are the fan favorites!! What does it help you pissing off the fans and risk losing viewers? As Robert once said, that is biting off your nose to spite your face!! Not a very smart move when there are competing shows on....
Showbusiness is one of the toughest industries in the world & is crammed full of great actors. They say only one in every 1000 makes it. Whoever you are there is alway's someone right behind you happy to step right into your shoes. He is too typecast as Aaron to probably find other work , plus he's a very one-dimensional actor & he know's Emmerdale is the best he'll ever get. I also think that Ryan Hawley will struggle out there. As has been shown time & time again, just because you got that break doesn't mean it's gonna happen again. I'd give it 12 to 18months before we see Ryan back in Emmerdale, assuming the producers want him back. Nothing is guaranteed.
I would not be surprised Danny Miller is not a LGBT ally. He has said homophobic comments in the press about kissing other men. Miller is an overrated actor. Emmerdale will lose a lot of fans now that Ryan Hawley quit.
Well except for a stiff-lipped mouth touch every 6 months and some Bro-hugs, I can’t really call those two playing gay the past few years. Something has been amiss for some time and I for one didn’t see how adding yet another child to their mix was going to make them any more interesting. This storyline with Vic is particularly awful though. It’s not interesting and cringe worthy. And making Aaron regress isn’t character development.
Dan Frost Agreed. They squandered some potentially good storylines. It’s almost like they’d start down a path and then scrap it and replace it with something overly dramatic and unnecessary. I like drama but I also like character development. Eastenders is doing an awesome job with Ben and Callum. It’s moving at a believable pace and it’s just enough angst and conflict and romance without being over-the-top. I’d argue that the audience never did see Robron grow romantically. There was always some dramatic issue they had to deal with or recover from. The 2nd wedding seemed like a way to make up for effing up the Rebecca storyline but it certainly wasn’t value added. A waste.
I don't think he ever ended up actually adopting Seb. That was the plan when Rebecca was still missing because of that psycho Lachlan, but once she returned I don't remember it being brought up again since both Seb's parents were alive and well again.
Is the show mad at Ryan for leaving so they are trashing his character? The problem with soaps is they are on for so long and everyday that they recycle stories and change stories and characters they created to fit the new narrative. How does Aaron not see that Robert wants him to have a life so he is letting him go. It is such a cliche, so predictable. I’m hoping this is just anger and he will come to his senses. This is destroying all of Roberts character development. They will have Aaron with a new guy in a month.
That’s exactly my thinking. It’s definitely personal, some petty vendetta against Ryan and all his beautiful work as Robert. Ryan seemed very unhappy the last few months and he suddenly quit, word is producers didn’t know he was leaving. Now they’re erasing and destroying his character

About bloody time. Robert has caused Aaron nothing but grief. OK there were a few great moments but really, was it worth all the heart ache! Let Aaron find a great bloke who can make him happy and give him the love that he truly deserves. Love brings happiness and fulfillment not grief and agony.

He's in jail, it's not like he decided to leave. He is just letting Aaron be free and not make him wait for him so he can keep living life.

It does seem personal by Emmerdale writers. I am still waiting for the Ryan Hawley interview. Sometimes things happen behind the scenes.
