It's not really "light-years ahead" of anything (unless you're making a confusing comparison to popular music?? 🤔) this is quite "right there" with a lot of stuff in the "Jazz/Fusion/Experimental/Prog-genres". I have a soft spot for m&m BUT I've known of them for a LONG time, and I was hoping they'd branch out more like Morgan did when he played with Devon Townsend, Frederik Thorendal, etc..etc.....They're great! No doubts there, but I can't do the "idea/idea/idea on top of another idea" playing they do, they don't render an actual "Song" and I know for a fact they aren't doing this on purpose, but instead they aren't great with "Construction of Composition" hell it ain't even Composition really, it's more just like brilliant ideas with no foundation, phasing, etc....
I wish I could hit the like button 1 000 000 times for this.

I have to say that Morgan is playing big drums amazingly fast, that is so not easy to do. I grew up on my dads 70s slingerland kit with a 24,13,14,18….they are like driving a big car, sometimes not easy at all, especially while driving down those small European streets…. Like my first car an ‘86 crown Vic, or playing big sticks compared to small they are just different animals and do very different things. The nice thing about big drums is that they always cut and feel so much better in a bigger room the harder than is they have no power steering while playing fast up tempo anything. That fast jazz tune was unbelievable both of you omg, like the statement so true above, “this music is like finding buried treasure…” couldn’t have said it any better myself. ❤
This is so great. My jaw dropped most of the time, the connection and bond both of you have one of a kind equaling something monstrously gigantic. ❤
How can Morgan get such colorful groove……. It’s captivating. He don’t play the drums. He experience them.

jag har varit ett fan sen jag var 12 och blivande slagverkare på musikskolan. min lärare nämnde er och jag har lyssnat regelbundet sen dess med några pauser här och där.
35 år gammal idag (23rd anniversary för mig) tittar och lyssnar på den här konserten och jag är inte det minsta besviken på vad jag hör.

Seems like only yesterday, in 2007, all my music school buddies and I used to surround the old library computer and watch your videos and dropped our jaws every 4 bars. This concert brings back that old feeling of awe and inspiration.
