- Heat Replay of Jack Robinson vs Mateus Herdy at the Corona Open Mexico presented by Quiksilver Semifinals
Fifteen years after one of the best events in WSL history, the Championship Tour makes its much-anticipated return to Barra De La Cruz and one of the most perfect right point breaks in the world. While the last event here was a novelty Search event, this year’s contest brings real gravity and stakes. As the second-to-last stop on the schedule, all eyes are on the WSL Final 5. Some surfers have already clinched their ticket to the World Title-deciding event at Trestles, so there are only a few precious spots left. Who will seize them?

Herdy was way underscored ! I am a fan of Jack, and he definitely got better waves in that heat but it should have been way closer. Mateus and Rio were very impressive in this event. Great to see!
absolutley herdy the heat should've been way closer
Came down to wave selection. Mateus definitely needs to work on that cause he was picking the worst waves
The wave has been such a big part of the score this whole year and it honestly confuses me. Just makes the surfers actually surf less and makes it more up to luck than actual skill.
Nah
@@nottherealChickenJoe just how it's always been. I think it's right that the judges don't throw massive scores at flicky airs on shitty waves. Wave selection has and always will be a massive part of surfing
Herdy is AMAZING, WSL looks good if he is in the race. Wow!!! The two best surfers of this Mexico competition, wow!!!
Best heat of the event!
Maybe even of the year!
Herdy de wild card fznd semifinal derrubando nomes de peso... SHEEESH
Jack Robinson mereceu meus brazuca, 2 tubo monstruoso! Pedrada pro DVD
SEGUE BRASIL EM TODAS AS FINAIS DO TOUR!!!!!!! #brazilianstorm
kkkkkkk rachei do sheeesh hahahahhahaha
Incredible heat !!
Herdy deu 3 aereos em 1 onda só, sem comentários...
What a heat thanks boys yewwwww
That was nuts.
Very low score for Herdy !! Big surfer 🔥🔥🔥
Bummer, herdy is way more exciting to watch
( Praia de gaibu, cabo de st. Agostinho, pe. Brasil. Alô rapaziada, )
Herdy deserves to win this heat
Commentary said “jack gets heaviest and most technical barrel of event “ you’re really clueless
Herdy won that! But judges can't accept that a wild card can be that good! Way for stylish on the flats plus surfing high risk and landing them!
You're on crack
Uhhhh hell no
Here a Brazilian writing . Sorry but start watching the heats with your heart aside . Sure was rooting for Matheus , he did good but Jack was better
@@markriobr what about Slater v Italo?
@@msalvs Did not watch , but i will . Have been surfing a life time and know how to leave emotion aside . Like 2014 have no doubt J P won the final at Snapper . Just like J w lost Pipe an Chopes to Medina . The semi at the Olympics even the judges not being from WSL .Shame, will check right now and get back to you . Cheers
Wtf
how i hate how going up and down in a wave gives you a better score than a freaking air! few surfers on earth can do an air and every surfer on earth can carv a wave. So dumb
You really are lost at sea with zero surf IQ
@@wadebowerman509 am i wrong?
You are very wrong , airs will never replace “on rail”committed surfing , it’s why , for example so many young teen kids now can do air revs before ever learning full rail and correct barrel surfing- jack robbo has both ... herdys rail surfing is still a little on top of the water and not yet Tour ready - likewise raaida
@@wadebowerman509 bc rail surfing is boring and easy to do. thats why every surfer in the CT can rail surf, but only a few can do airs
@@nicolasdavies4129 that's not traditional surfing, and I'd like to see you pull out a john john power hack if it's easy to do. Reading a wave well and doing huge turns and hacks on critical parts of the wave with flow will always be 10x better than flicky airs on shitty waves
