I love the sound of the old floors when you are walking through these old buildings.
My house is the same, from the 40s.
My dad is a retired firefighter. He had beautiful dress uniforms. When my parents had to give up housekeeping my sister in law cut all the buttons off the uniforms and gave them to me and my sister. A friend secretly took the buttons from and had a bracelet made for me. I love that bracelet!
Occupied at least narrows down the age to 1945-1952
The Thelma enamel is by Thelma Winter. She n her husband Edward were Cleveland OH artists. She was lovely and sweet.
So happy that you received a call back on the birds. I love older buildings with creaking floors as long as they aren't dark and dreary. 😄
Always love to have you visit! Thanks for stopping by, and for buying my dragonfly! Can’t wait to watch it and see what it sells for!
Love your booth! I was creeping on banana dog again. 😂
Right. The thing about objects marked "Occupied Japan" aren't necessary more valuable but if something was made in Occupied Japan, we know exactly when it was made. From 1945 (the end of WW2) until 1952 Japan was occupied by the Allied forces. Exclusive of those years (before and after) products were marked "Japan" or "Made in Japan" and we really don't know (without research or experience) exactly when they were produced. Being made in "Occupied Japan" pinpoints an exact era in time.
That 3rd floor could be an amazing loft, very bright and airy. Love it!
Dance studio, art...I love it!
Always so impressed with her holding the CAMERA SO STURDY at the same time as she is reaching for and lifting out pieces ! 🤗
My wife and I started thrifting and reselling because of you and Andrew. We have a small booth in a antique shop here in Berlin ohio.
Good luck with your booth
Good for you and your wife! Congrats and I wish you success. Lynn
Thank you
I think what u called “creamer & sugar” was a tumble-up…. The cup looked like it would fit on top of the “vase” carafe 🤣😆
Yes, I had one of those. I was told it was a bedside water jar and the cup does fit over the top. I loved mine!
That mermaid plate is amazing. And, the Moravian tile is adorable.
The cameo vase would make a beautiful shade to a pendent light.
That cameo vase, repo or not was the most beautiful vase I have ever seen. Sigh. :) Put fearie lights in is then beautiful silk chrysanthemums, oh my heavens, it would be so pretty.
Love the cocktail drinking cats teapot.😊🇨🇦
I so want that tea pot!
Thank you for showing us the event space. It was gorgeous ! For someone who has managed event planning departments for many high end properties, I love seeing different spaces. I could actually see living in one of the spaces, not just having an event. What a beautiful living space it would be! I would love to hear more about the mermaid plate you found. You are right- it is everything! xo Edit- spelling:)
When she was showing us I thought 'wow wouldn't that be a great place to live'. Then I started thinking I could live there, run my online vintage store, and any time I wanted more inventory for the shop you could just go downstairs and buy some stuff! 😆 Livin' the dream...
@@penelopesparrow Love this!
Not coffee mug, soup mug
I think you made a good decision on the Galle vase. I couldn’t find that shape under those known to be made by Galle. It was however incredibly beautiful.
I found a Galle vase the other day at my local value village for 7 dollars no chips or cracks and it's beautiful.
The glas vase and bowl (you called it open sugar and creamer) looks like Eva Englund for Orrefors Sweden.
The round flower box is for holding a roll of postage stamps. Looks like a slot on the side that the stamps rolled out to dispense-
I love all the antique malls that you go to. You find some really gorgeous stuff!
Much more interesting then good will.
I WILL ADMIT. I’ve been watching your channel for years! I’m addicted!!! This is the first comment I’ve ever left. You are so lucky to find such great bargains at your thrift stores. Not much to find here in Alabama - unless you are - what I like to refer to as - “thrift store zombies” - folks that hang out all day and feed off the new racks that are rolled out. My anxiety gets the best of me so I can’t compete with those guys !! Anyway, I’ve enjoyed your adventures!! And a shout out to Dagny. She is amazing and always makes me laugh!! Anyway, keep finding those bargains!! Roll Tide 😊
Well on Sunday there is lots to see and the one we love isn’t on TV. She rules the whatnot and the CZcams too. If you want good content she is the one for you. So lets get comfy and pop some corn and we will watch the CLL thrift some more!
🧡🧡🧡🧡
The floral plate and bowl are so beautiful. You found so many treasures today!
Great place for a wedding, place to eat, room for music and dancing
That what you thought was an open creamer and sugar was actually a bed side water vase with glass the glass sits on top of the water vase and the larger piece with a stopper was for water too for when your vase ran out u could add more water to it.
I have a booth at an Antique Mall, and I love to walk around that place and take pictures of the weird and creepy. I send them to my friends with no explanation. Makes me smile. :-)
I loved the "freaky pig". Love pigs and unusual items!
Water colour paints are super for repairs for keepers :) P.S. Especially for chalkware.
The only way we could recognize all the wonderful treasures you show us, would be if we all had the amazing wonderful memory and file cabinet you store in your mind.
13:25 The flowers on those plates look like poinsettia. Those would be beautiful on a Christmas table.
The fairy light the base was upside down I believe. My mom has one like that
Yes it goes together, I have the exact one, you can use it either way , beautiful when lite!!
Do you use a real tea light in it? Have “heard” use battery only as real is too hot?
You got a lot of great stuff for an excellent price! I have added Schoolhouse Antiques to my Want To Visit List.
Sooooo many pretties!
Your memory astounds me.
And I don't know if you have a new camera, or what is happening, but I swear this video is almost in 3D! Thank you for all you do!
She said in a comment in the last video she got new lens 😊
I collect occupied Japan. My grandfather was in WWII And he collected it and always told me to grab it when I saw it ❤
Always thought so too
Omg if I found that kitchen cat tea pot I would have been all over it!!the places in you area have so much more and nicer stuff than here in Michigan
Better than California
I so want that tea pot!
@@NiftyNate-sy7gpcall the store the vendor may be happy to ship to you!
@@anitasweet454 yep, so many other states' goodwill stores are much better: better inventory, better prices, even better organized and cleaner!
I buy Occupied Japan because my dad occupied Japan. Some of it is very tacky, but some are beautiful. I consider it to be a symbol of my dad's life. I definitely don't buy it to make money.
Thank you so much Joselyn for acknowledging the 'SCREAMING' music! What the heck are these people thinking? (Or not thinking)! I'm to the point where I just turn the volume off and turn on the c/c to watch videos with loud music! There must be a lot of people who have had some serious hearing loss who work at the antique and Goodwill stores! Apparently, they have no level of hearing to regulate volume in a store! I find it happening pretty regularly. It really is a shame because I love listening to you talk about your finds and learn from your teachings! I just don't get the same quality of enjoyment from your videos when I have to c/c them! If I walk into a store and the music is too loud, I'll politely ask if the music can be turned down because of my medical condition! Usually, they will! I'll call them before I leave to ask if the music is loud. They usually have it lower than usual when I get there. That may be something you can do to call before you get to a store to see if you can record, advertising their business and ask them about how high their music volume is! That may help with copyright infringement.
That place was lovely and you got lovely things there too!!!
Well I am halfway through the pile of dishes, no I do not have a dishwasher, I am the dishwasher. I will go look for another of these wonderful videos.
I don't think the white tea light holder for 6 dollars was mismatched. I just think the under plate was upside down. Lovely shopping trip, thank you for sharing.
I love the dragonfly!!
Jocelyn and Stevie Nicks, what a combo
Love the Mermaid😢 plate, Dragonfly😘. Uh Oh. Jocelyn has her Crocs on! She means business.😄. The big room upstairs was neat. Be a great room for some “Zumba” classes.♥️ I enjoyed the eerie door sound.
Anything made in occupied Japan was produced between 1945 and 1952 so that can at least date a piece. It doesn't, of course, imply that the item is more valuable - just that it can be dated to those 7 years.
The upstairs room would be a great dance studio with its wood floors.
Am I nuts for obsessing about why she didn't buy the teapot with atomic cat cartoon images on it? It is such a perfect addition to anyone decorating in mid century modern style. We have a new restaurant opening in town that is using the atomic cats with martinis for a photo backdrop.
That Event Space at the top would make a spectacular apartment. Huge
That round small wooden box with slit on side looked like it would be for dispensing postage stamps on a roll. Lid looked hand-carved to me, from here.
I painted one of those little stamp dispensers in art class in 8th, 50-some years ago. I painted flowers and it looked very similar to the one you bought. My mom always used it and I wish I still had it.
A+++ flipping demonstration! I think you should return soon! You think the creamer ans sugar was actually a tumble up? Its reminding me of something thats not clear yet.
13:31 MB is Michael Buckland or maybe Michael Bayley... Both are potters but that style looks more like Michael Buckland Pottery
The Swedish glass is not a sugar and creamer. It’s a vase and dish. Greetings from Sweden
Occupied Japan means it was made before the wall and there is collectors and collectors have a diversity of taste
I love the upstairs of this building i would have to put my home in the second room upstairs that school building is so cool
Jocelyn- could the 2 pieces you thought were a sugar and creamer at 7min. 30 seconds into the video been a tumble up?🤔
Love watching your channel! You’ve taught me so much. And your family is adorable! I think the matching pieces you thought were open creamer & sugar is actually cup and water decanter for bedside table. ❤
What a fun antique mall. So many beautiful things
Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
My spidey senses were tingling 😂 I had a feeling that you were going to get more birds ❤ I wish I could meet them. I look forward to your video about them.
I have two of the bisque fairy lights that you showed in the beginning and the base of both are saucer shaped and very delicate.
I agree, that mermaid plate is everything. IT’S SO AMAZING!
You found some great pieces today!! I loved the pottery plate & bowl with the large flowers and also the last glass piece that was clear with blues & greens... STUNNING!! So much fun!
Hello Jocelyn and Everyone!! Now let's see the goodies 😀
Wow!!! I want to have a dance class upstairs with those hard wood floors and windows!!
The face of the mermaid reminds me of the Winnblad plates you used to pick up.
🥦could it of been a tumble - up ? ...
the vase-like creamer and open-ish sugar
thought the same thing
@@Flamingo721 you never know from our perspective. But, great minds...
i collect vintage dogs. i love the crazy eyed dog. lol
Not Galle. There is no bleeding of color. A glass expert told me that a true cameo glass has blending or bleeding of colors due to the acid etched process. Just a little nugget of info for ya 😊
Cute store! The space upstairs would be great for a Meet n Greet for y’all
Yes my mother-in-law had a lot of Occupied Japan, not very desirable and poorly made. But there are a few pieces that are well done.
I was told that the Japanese used to go around and buy all the occupied Japan and destroy it. My Mom told me this probably about 40 years ago. I’m 58 now. I have a shelf full that belonged to my Mom. I have always loved them. Will never sell. -I get excited to find occupied Japan because I am amazed they are so old and have survived. I do not usually buy any. I have enough.
It would be great for a soup mug!!
that coffee mug - loved it! The design was beautiful.
I love going to Schoolhouse & Black Swan. They are my favorite.
You could have a meet and greet in the event space❤️
Beautiful Pennsylvania blue skies out those windows!!!
Jocelyn, the $6 fairy light was a set. It's just that the base was upside down. I bought one last week. X
That booth with all the doll head creatures looked like Sid's room from Toy Story, lol.
Loved hearing Elton John singing in the background.
The kitschy cat tea pot and the jester painting were my favorites things...and you passed on both. You found some really nice things at this shop.
Hi, Jeff here.. you mentioned that you were in Palmyra, PA...I live west of Reading PA and I go to the Jubilee stores all the time and there is one in Palmyra... just a thought... love your videos!! I watch all of your videos!!
Great job with your manifesting skills! Another one of your developing "super powers".
You and Dagny should do a meet and greet there in the rental space!!!
We camp in Morehezd Kentucky and they had a School House Antique Store. It went out of business..reminded me of this place and great prices. Imlove the plate and bowl, and the mermaid plate. My husband had knee replacement so no estate sale buying for now. Loved this place .♡222
CLL! Imagine you’re having a real live sale auction in that hall!
The glass pieces next to the German decanter you bought. The ones you thought could be a sugar and creamer, but looked like a vase... I'm thinking maybe its a bedside Tumble Up?
That would be a great place to stitch!
Thank you for the video I enjoyed it there was a lot of weird stuff in the booth that I liked a lot of it in that glass dish you held up in That had. all of the pointy glass sticking out of it love that thing is gorgeous anyway enjoyed watching you picking out. your stuff and I will catch you on your next one
Turn the base of the fairy lamp and they will match!
Beautiful things! Fun to see the upstairs too! It’s always an adventure to go along with you and see the things you pick out! Thank you!
Glass Eye Studio is here in Seattle! I found a couple paperweights of theirs thrifting…. Still have them !! 😬
I could see some dancing going on in that big upstairs space. Back in the day. Wow
I'm a new follower and I just love your shopping adventures and getting to see your lovely family. I can definitely see you in your dad....same amazing cheekbones. Thanks for taking us with you and teaching us so much about antiques!
But the rest is her mom, tall and sweet 😁 tho her dad seems nice too
I regret to inform you, there is no treatment for this addiction! 😁
@@rhondaborders3452 if this addiction is wrong…I don’t wanna be right! Lol
I love EVERYTHING IN THAT STORE..VERY DIFFERENT
I loved everything in that first booth!
The fairy light base is upside down. Is the Little Mermaid plate from Denmark? Reminds me of the Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen harbor.
Doesn't look like a Danish signature that i have ever seen but you never know. Our Little mermaid doesn't look this happy😄 and doesn't have a trident🧜♀️
@@rikkemeek1506 LOL Maybe she moved to Norway and became Queen! Seriously now, she just reminded me of Copenhagen.
@@carolrunion6200 You never know😄
That was fun and such a neat building.
What a perfect place for a meet and greet, just saying! So awesome the lady let you know the background of the vase! Love when they turn old buildings into antique stores, you get two for one! Awesome dragonfly!! Be well and happy hunting!
That’s what I was thinking💜
I thought you would have paid more for the beautiful selections you made. Good job.
Small wooden'( ? )Cylinder with carved flower. Looks like stamp holder.Slit on side where stamp w come thru.
She mentioned it was a stamp holder but could be used for other things
