    I think you should use the earc instead of arc for dolby atmos. I believe you will get a better experience with the soundbar.

      Hi @ryan sherman, yes you are correct. I have it set up for earc now and its better. It was a setting on the tv that I did not switch on when I recorded. Since then, it's set on earc. Thanks for the comment.

    Thank you for an excellent video. One question, how does it mount on wall?

    • @ericwsu
      @ericwsu  Pƙed 2 lety +1

      Hi @Tonye Oki, so there are 2 brackets that connect the sound bar to the wall. In my video you will see I show the brackets. They screw onto the wall and then the sound bar is placed on top so that the screws on the bottom of the sound bar connect to the plates. I hope that helps you out.

    Based on this video's evaluation, I purchased the SP9YA LG Sound Bar. While the sound was good, I found that a person's speech lagged to their lip movement on the screen, otherwise known as "Latency". When a person spoke slowly, it wasn't too noticeable, but when a person spoke more quickly, there was a definite lag on the words coming across the speaker versus the movement of their lips. They were not in sync. Since, I found this out, through research, I have found this LG Sound Bar has a "Positive Latency Value" which indicates that the visuals come before the sound. This was using the eArc (Enchanced - Audio Return Channel) connection on a LG Oled 65" G1 series tv. When the results are more (or less) than -55 ms to 75 ms, you start to experience noticeable latency. The SP9YA Latency using ARC is measured at 82ms which is slightly outside the tolerable measurements for lip-syncing. That said, some apps and some TVs compensate for latency differently, so your experience may vary. Hope this helps. Please leave a comment on your experience with this LG SP9YA Sound Bar and/or if my review helped. Thanks.

      Hi @scott louis, thanks for the comment and I am sure it will help others. I have not seen too much lag with my set up. This does not mean that it does not happen. I am glad you figured out how to make it work for your set up.

    • @TheMindverse
      @TheMindverse Pƙed rokem

      I'm almost certain there's a setting to manually compensate for that. Either on the TV or the soundbar itself.

      @@TheMindverse There is an AV synch control in the LG app but that's only useful if the soundbar is consistently getting ahead of the picture. On my TV there is also an AV synch control but it is unavailable when the soundbar is plugged in.

    I got mine for $324 open box from Best buy in "good" condition...the sound bar and sub are in good shape. But it was in a literal open box and was missing the remote, though it stated I'd receive everything as if it were new. Overall though it seems like it was a great deal, it doesn't really matter I didn't ge tthe remote since my LG C1 remote works, theres the phone app, and I use a Logitech Harmony remote anyway.
    If you're also using an LG C1, I definitely noticed right away that things were out of sync. I use my up to date HDMI cables for 120/240 hz output for my PS5 and gaming PC to monitor, haven't tried ARC/EARC yet. But you can mess with the audio/video syncing in the sound settings of the TV, I found positive 2 to make things perfect. Sync's 1:1 with the TV volume, I keep the TV at volume 5, REALLY helps with hearing dialogue clearly!
