Louis plays a James Bond style game of Baccarat at the Hilton casino and reaps his winnings. Great video from BBC show Louis Theroux - Gambling.

Louis Theroux is the master of subtle British sarcasm, without crossing the line.
Louis is great at affecting the role of being the dumbest guy in the room. He has it down real cold
He's playing them all. An absolute genius
There’s an old saying that the silent ones are the ones you should be looking out for.
wouldn’t say dumb, just unassuming. Everything about him from his posh accent, glasses and wiriness makes him very disarming.
@Aimo Koivunen Lewis is a bad person? I'm not sure where that comes from dude
i hope so...i sure hope so
"There is no catch - welcome to Vegas!"
What a great line.
1. The money was not from your TV license, it was Louis' own money
2. It's not Louis advocating gambling, the rest of the documentary is skeptical and shows the negative impact of it on other characters. This is one of two parts where Louis actually experiences it for himself to understand what it's like.
OI MATE DO YOU ‘AVE A LOICENSE FUH’THAT TV?
I don’t pay tv license anyway, it’s immoral to fund the bbc a known propgganada and peadophile organisation. Louis is half decent though.
Two parts he plays slots with Martha, bjs with the Bos, baccy with the shark, and high roll roulette/bj with baldy.
I count numerous times son
@Hell Bro Who cares anyway in this case, if all BBC funded programmes were of the quality that Louis Theroux docus are I think most of us would happily support it's existence.
@@billwilliams328 As far as huge media corporations, you can do a whole lot worse than the BBC. If I were a Brit I wouldn't have any problem funding it with my tax money.
They were all laughing at louis but he was the smartest guy in the room 🤣🤣🤣
Yes. Usually the goofiest looking guy is the smartest. 😀
@@ibnfaqir9223 I must be really smart so
@@RC-fi8nn Goofy looking, smart and gets way more pussy that you do.
I think the casino guy gets it.
Legends say he's still waiting for his bloody mary
he is drinking bloody mary in the video
It's very obvious from Rich's body language that he really doesn't like Louis at all. Probably didn't like his line of questioning concerning his 'friend' Alan.
Totally agree with you. :-) They've only got jobs in the first place because people go into casino's and lose money.
+Alex J yea that mask slipped rather quickly
Isn't the guy at the end Alan with a wig?
Nonsense.
Here's Johnny you don’t know shit lol I work at a casino lol
I feel like Rich wants to feel like a big shot, and Louis' groundedness is making him uncomfortable
Nosy Egg damn right
Nar he’s probably just a Jew or something but I don’t know
He's trying to hide what he's really doing, but we all see
@James Missen that's what he's doing there
@Sharks The mattress salesman (The "friend" godfather to his kid") Had to sell his company in 2009 and is reportedly worked as an Uber driver.
The Casino guy Rich is still in the business now working for a different casino.
I keep coming back to this clip to see the guy impale the card with the pen. Gets me every time
if you did that in an aussie casino they'd throw you out. high roller or not, i cannot believe he got away with that.
@@ighfee You lassies know what Las Vegas is right? Its not an island with fucking black widow spidersnakes coming out of a roided kangaroos muscled rectum.
Its an establishment created to suck your life out and everything in between, a pen impales a card? hand the man a beverage and keep taking his money.
@@ighfeeA casino isn’t going to throw out a high roller because he ruined a 2 cent card
@@afridgetoofar1818 its destroying casino property and also against casino etiquette. doesn't matter how much the card is worth, you can't just do what you want in there. like i said, an aussie casino would throw you out for that, not sure about other countries
@@ighfee A regular joe who is making $5 bets would probably get kicked out.
Certainly not someone betting $15,000
"I enjoy making you happy, how about that?" BS
IDK maybe it's true . . . it's not like he's working on commission . . .
It is true, because happy customers return, the casino always wins.. it's a marathon for them, not a sprint.
Exactly. If anything most degenerates hold on to the tale of a large victory in the beginning of their experiences only to give that back 10 fold chasing that moment.
@Not Convinced lol, he might be an Uber driver now
This is exactly what happened to me on my first trip to Las Vegas. It makes u feel like its so easy. Then u find out later it's not like that most of the time.
“You show her who louis is”. Idk why but that always makes me laugh 😂
The part where louis high fives him then asks if they won makes me laugh as well
"Did we win?"
3 grand
Yes
This host is so good at what he does, supernatural with his clients/friends. Smooth as.
2:36 Asking the poison merchant why he doesn't drink his product
We are gonna give you a brand new Hilton envelope
"There is no catch, welcome to Vegas" - I can imagine the devil saying this with silky smooth persuasion
"where's my bloody mary?".... classic stall tactic by casino management.. delay the drink/food etc until they lose all their money LOL
@MrJobofo you're right. I don't get why this original comment got so many likes. I remember when I played poker in Las Vegas. I ordered vodka red bull every time when this waitress came... once I was maybe in the restroom or somewhere else, she still had me one when she came :)
@MrJobofo This, and it keeps you at the table, and not at the bar ordering drinks. This is a classic tactic for slot machines.
MrJobofo no decision to make in baccarat
its the other way around actually because the more inebriated you are the more likely you are to bet reckless.
Most casinos even give you free drink if you gamble enough or come enough
@@timpyrules however i've seen many times gamblers asking "where's the cocktail lady, i've been waiting too long.." often the gambler will press the pit boss to get a drink.
Nobody does controlled naivety better than Louis, he walks a tightrope of innocent and likeable naivety yet without coming across as a complete dumb ass and he is able to get into people’s confidences. The other thing that many interviewers forget is that no matter what he always remains respectful and never goes for a cheap shot. It’s a unique skill, more of an art - very few are able to do this.
has anyone even noticed how similar dan the man looks to the "high roller with the big suite"? they look like twins.
I actually wondered if it was the same person or not.
I think dan the man is Alan in disguise.
Till I saw this comment I thought they were the same
Henk de Tank No. Dan on this. The other guy is Alan.
Damn. I guess gamblers have the same genes lmao.
Love the sarcasm from host..looks at his cash and says "wow..that's impressive"
Lol. People walk around in casinos with 20-30 grand cash. 1500 is pathetic amount. Lol
He stroked the gambler's ego... made him feel like a big man... a man who with enough money could break the casino and who could win BIG BIG BIG...
@@Chris-bs4qy One could argue the greater the sum people gamble in a casino, the more pathetic they are.
People who think they're the big man because they bet 30 grand at a casino will soon be the small broke bum. It doesn't take skill to gamble large sums of money on negative EV bets, only idiocy.
@@SeaJayBelfast or they just have loads of money.
"...when your winning gambling makes perfect sense...."
"for this victim though it was the end of the line.... for now" gotta love Louies sense of humour.
I didn't even see it as a joke, I saw it as... Wise. Meaning, anyone who wins might be tempted again in the future. Very good way to end it.
“And eventually we lose it all” 😂
'I was hoping that you'd say that' lol I love Louis
The town Las Vegas was not built by winners. - Louis Theroux.
When a 'friend' is someone who get paid for being so it's time to revise your life.
louis makes such splendid docu's
I love lous attitude during this whole documentary.
"When youre winning, gambling makes perfect sense"
So true.
'What happened to my Bloody Mary?'
"did we win?"... "yes"
louis high fiving like a classic nelly everytime he wins hahaha too funny
Pit Boss: Wow, that's pretty impressive!
Louis: 💵😎I'd hoped you'd say that. 😎💵
Louis is the columbo of the journalist world
Haha that's an excellent analogy
“I didn’t know the rules, so I’ll be leaving the decisions to Dan the Man” ... never a good sign.
"did we win?" lol
That guys charisma would make u just gamble anyway hes funny as hell
supreme confidence! the monkey phrases had me laughing lol
guy celebrates like mad, "did we win"? lol
I got a mate who used to be a blackjack dealer at star city casino in Sydney and said that all the people who worked in the casino never gambled ha:
Yeah because they aren't allowed, my brother worked there and they look over your bank statements to see if you've gambled or not.
@@martinsanchez4827 I just mean in general dude. Not the casino
it was the only casino in town for a long time. but even so i imagine most of them learnt what it can do
almost all the poker dealers i've met play poker though
At least in victoria, by law CROWN workers aren't allowed to gamble there either even on annual leave. They get sacked on the spot if they do.

i wish i could find the whole documentary!

i think louis is a great interviewer lol.
Louis is so damn endearing
Only winner is Louis. He went home with 4k
“Did we win” “yes”
wow 144p. That's a new one
I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Richard Wilk (the celebrity casino host) in Vegas for my channel. We spoke about him, the casino business...and the Louis Theroux documentary, obviously! The interview is in two parts, with the bulk of the Louis talk in the second episode (including a definitive update on Allan the High Roller!)
Part One:

Part Two:

Enjoy!
Wow, someone linking a video in a youtube comment section that's actually relevant and not just spam. Thanks :)
Good videos :)
i guess the problem with gambling is people have an attachment to that winning feeling and it ends up hurting them in the end
Is this available in 360p?
Where's the original documentary?
not rlly, in the same documentry they showed a lady losing millions with slots, 2 guys losing tens of thousands with blackjck & a highroller losing half a million @ various games... some ppl win & some ppl lose,,,
Wrong, everybody loses. The only way to beat the game is to play once, get lucky and quit while you're ahead. Nobody does that though.
In the long run everyone loses. If you're lucky in the short run and smart enough to quit while you're up, then you can leave with more than what you came in with.
It's good to see twins in this episode.
John Devine that Canadian gambler did resemble that Baccarat degenerate
0:27 hi I'm here to stroke your ego when you gamble lots of money
What happen to the original video???????
Can someone please tell me the name of the back ground music playing all the way through this please ????
I NEED TO KNOW THIS TOO
Getting really far ahead early is so dangerous, you end up feeling like you are earning money for doing nothing. Then you chase it.
Does anyone know where the full documentary is I’ve seen it on here but can’t find it now
Valdis4418 thank you
BBC I player ..watched it last night.
It reminded me of the card game Chandler invented to give Joey some money. 😂
He scored double cups 😃
check BBC iplayer, it's got the details there.
Allan ended as a Uber Driver in Toronto, search it up at Google
No way
Maybe he retired and Does that as a way to make supplemental income… Hopefully
His young son had just died tragically like 6 months before this was filmed
No he didnt...fake story.
Thomas Cat what’s the fake story,. His son died
When I went to Vegas, I played some slots and a few rounds of roulette, won $20-50 or so, here and there, and spent it on food and drinks....I had a strong hunch that if I’d have sat down at the blackjack table and spent some serious money, I might very well had been in the shit financially! Gambling is a type of high you have to be careful with.
Just set a stop loss. As soon as you hit it, get up and go do something else.
"Its Coming"' 😂🤣😝
@@IronFanJoe For the casinos sake lol....
Louis is such a sweet naive little boy.
I could not be near that baccarat guy omg too loud.
Where are you going? Lol
@richard welk. The coolest. At circa now he is the man
Make a bet, flip a coin, and give me 1% vig. Let's play!!
I love to piss off everyone doing their pointless analysis by flipping a coin, and placing my bet almost immediately.
If I started poking pens through the cards in my local casino, I get barred 😅
In the baccarat table , you can do whatever you want to the cards they get thrown away anyways
If you’re betting $12,000 a hand, you can poke as many holes as you want/
You win, I see you more
louis don't know what the fuck he is doing, but his winning haha
"MUUNNNKEY!"
144p really?
I've watched this on TV several times: Thank God for youtube because every time I see it I ask myself - Isn't the 'highroller' (matress king, is it Alan Ehrlick) and "Dan the Man" one and the same person???? Nobody seems to bring this up - am I missing something.
No
@@AlphaDraconis7 So one and the same?

How does Dan the Man look and sound exactly like that Allen guy? I mean he seems a little taller but I swear they are the same dude.
exactly. they are the same person, I spotted that right away.

I'm surprised the high roller doesn't use a marker. But it was probably just his pocket money anyways.
I want to go gambling with Dan the Man too.

Hey everyone I am still at it in LAS VEGAS taking care of HIGH ROLLERS 15 years later after shooting this documentary with Louis and the BBC.

144p long time my friend
This last scene was blatantly set up by the casino to portray Vegas in a positive light. The whole table and cards were in on it.
You think they need more business? They are not going to set the cards up, that would be almost impossible.
Also would be illegal
No man. People are so dumb and addicted they will still go to the casino. They had no problem admitting that doctor lady lost millions. She still comes back every day to give more.
@@spinwaus it would be illegal to allow the customer to win?
I assume a casino would get in a lot of trouble if they got 1 dealer to help Louis but better for the casino and the doc they do.
