MBT's acting is probably my favorite thing to watch on this channel every week
Weirdly, they're probably my entry point to watching literally any ygo content on youtube, I just went through the playlist watching the silly man make jokes, and then kinda ended up sitting through the rest of the videos in the hopes of getting some context.
Petition to get a redo of Springans 10 minute take. A heavy part of the engine of this variant is gone and the threat of getting their cards shuffled is all but gone.
Its crazy how cards like Circular and Tally Ho can be printed for their archetypes and not even scratch the edges of this format one bit.

@@literallygrass1328 I'm talking about MAMA-PHHY specifically, Mathmech stopped being relevant once Tear took over as the best deck and brought the Bystials with it. Tally Ho possibly would have shaken up POTE-DABL if it was printed just a bit sooner.
The decks they're supporting aren't very good though
If an actually competent deck had access to cards like that it'd be relevant
@@andrejv.2834 I have heard it said many times before that the reason these archetypes get busted cards is to try and make them playable. I mean look at Ursarctic they have an archetypal draw 7 and it did not help. Or even Cardians that have two different summon 4 cards and have barely seen play.
Ice Barries have a Not OPT ROTA since forever, Heroes had Fifth Hope since forever. If the monsters are either bad or an ill fit for the meta, it doesn't matter how busted their in-archetype support is.
It does make non-meta play or alt formats spicy tho.

@@satorugojo6229 this isint really springans as a playstyle or theme its just them being bodies for a good resource generator. I cant blame MBT for that since konami kneecaped their in name xyz for some reason but i hope they retran exblower someday
@@Zambles I actually run an almost completely different build. I don't play Stein at all. Instead I focus on XyZ monsters only 9excluding Sprind). My best end board is "Champion" Sargas, Captain Sargas, UDF, Number 38: Hope Harbinger and Regulus. Now that endboard can be achieved if I open god hand, but the regular is not bad either, that being "Champion" Sargas, Capatin Sargas, Number 38, Regulus and King of Feral Imps with one material remaining.

There's a couple Gold Pride cards that have a very similar popping effect to the Springans' iconic "destroy all cards in target zone and all adjacent zones"

I love how the current format is so overpowered that you can give an archetype a recyclable soul charge and it's still not enough to make it viable.
1 card with ridiculous effects to fix an archetype is just a meme just like that Link-1 that searches the Field Spell......
The entire Springan archetype couldve been legal in 2017 and would have never seen competitive play. The issue with this deck isnt that the powerlevel of the format is too high, its that all their maindeck monsters are fuckin terrible

To be fair, the Tear player hit everything… well I mean Tear kind of always hits everything nowadays. Maybe after a banlist this could work.
Tears need to get massacred by the banlist if any other deck wants to breathe.

time thiefs actually help this deck out a lot, they allow you to end on a champion sargas, a rank 4 (usually redoer because you probably searched retrograde), and either another rank 4 or a rank 8, and to top it off this is just a 1 card combo with the dog
crystal beasts as well

it is. And loosing to Tears is easily fixed by slamming as many anti-GY cards as you can. This deck can play just fine under Shifter if you know how.

Think I still prefer a spright version, Smashers is one hell of a card when every single mode is kinds broken.
Also silver gadget > stein for exterio let's you go in the spright lines with those 2 alone

Honestly, Springans are my favorite deck of the current storyline, so I’m down for them to get some support
ill be waiting for this to come to master duel for my utopia deck since the standard onomat utopia can make sargas for literally free (sometimes you have to only use tallyho for 2 though due to board space restrictions)
Ishizu should be proud that her monsters (which appear for literally two episodes of the anime) are getting splashed into almost every deck that even thinks about using its graveyard
When will we be rid of Ishizu Tearlament…

Would love to see updated dogmatika ritual! Maybe you could have some fun and throw nexus in there too since so many things send extra deck cards to GY now and makes summoning it so much easier.
Nexus is still to hard to get out reliably. You want your banishes to get out Zoa right now because Luluwalilith and Quem don't come out until Cyberstorm.
Once Cyberstorm comes out Dogmatika will be at full power and you can easily dump 4 monsters on your first turn. From my resting that's still not ideal as Quem enables use of Cartesia and Albaz in the deck which is much stronger than anything Nexus can do.
I'm glad to see Spring get some attention! Its cool to see niche but decent things get love. Also I'd love to see a twitter thread talking about card errata that could be reversed, like what would happen if DMOC or Goyo Guardian had their old effects in 2023

I am really hoping we get a banlist before phhy or shortly after as dealing with tear zero this long and making them stronger and since they now have 3 different field spells to help them I feel like the old one is being limited or banned and the new one will take its place and kashtira one just has incidental synergy with it like the rest of decks do like scareclaw
Not that I expect mbt to played against what may happen he is just looking at the bleak future without a banlist

It's honestly idiotic that Tear now has Havnis 2.
Just a couple of thoughts, use torrential tribute and xyz import. When the springans XYZ leave the field with the protection effect you can torrential when your opponent has two monsters trying to set up their combo. Or you can xyx import when your opponent summons their first monster and shut the down first before sending the xyz off the field to protect it and then torrential.

actually so excited, idk why these dumb little bots interested me but the new support is super fun to play with, and *just* good enough that I'd feel at least competent at playing at locals with them.

I hate that not long ago this would be considered a very strong deck. But Tear-Ishizu is so oppressive that it's making everything look garbage by comparison. It's completely warped the game. They just have to wipe it off the face of the earth in the banlist.

I wonder with presumably the end of the Albaz lore. Is the Albaz/Abyss lore one where you might have the most fun in a format where everyone only plays story decks. Since the decks all do their own thing and icejade and springans are the two that were considered the weakest. I guess the one thing is you need to do some restrictions as Spright with no extra limitations likely heavily overshadows other abyss decks.

Me too. I remember him saying that they were one or two card short of completion. He was right. With these two new cards, the archetype feels complete and powerful.
And with this Springan’s join the evergrowing list if archetypes with an insane Spell/Trap lineup, decent extra deck monsters, and 0 main deck monsters that arent either terrible themselves or stratos for said terrible monsters.

Springans are solid with the XYZ Armor Package. Also, when Centurion comes out, this deck becomes cracked.

You can also make a UDF/Dweller/Stellar knight Ptolemaeus and a Superfactorial with three Mathmech names in the grave at the cost of running four Mathmech bricks. It isn't super good, it is just something you can do.
Actually thanks to the new support, Springans synergise with a lot of archetypes.

One of the other downsides you didn't mention: cyber-stein is a disaster in time

not out of character for a deck that already had a terraforming/rota+foolish burial to get another busted card that is the fusion of older good cards

Just in case MBT doesn't mention it, the Brothers-Rockey loop enables an omni negate everytrun using their continious trap Sriggans Interlude. Pretty "busted". Not meta but catching people off guard with it in MD is always funny
