I’ve gotten a few of these blizzard warnings originally when I had my old WR-120 before it broke and got lost, then I got my new WR-300 in 2021 and I had a few of these warnings on it as well

I finally have an alert works radio does it really work so I just put it in my room as a clock recently on this week's test it activated and I was pretty happy
The wr100 and the Eton zone guard alert sound sounds like a alert sound with the Christmas sound in the background at 0:30

I would like to own a weather radio but i feel like it would scare the daylights out of me if there was a emergency and it went off.
there is a feature on SAME weather radios where there would be an option where it’ll silently go off as it receives an alert via your NWR transmitter
as a person who has a radio, theres usually alert tests at like 3 in the morning and they scare the crap out of me

I do to
The RadioShack 12-262, 12-519, 12-521 and AlertWorks EAR-10 are faster on the alerts since they all go off on the first header.
What beacon do you have next to your ZoneGuard? Did you modify it to trigger upon an alert?
That is just an amber strobe. It is not connected to anything at the moment.
About the weather radio that's sitting to the left of the printer, the one that looks like an alarm clock, how much did that cost?

Hello! So I've watched your videos for quite a while and now I'm saying this because I'm getting a weather radio! My dream came true!!!! The radio is Midland W100 I think....? I ordered it on Amazon and got lucky because it was the last one in stock!!!! 😂😂😂 But I do have some questions that you might be able to answer if possible.. Don't feel like you have to..
1. Do the radios sometimes go off at midnight?
2. Do they do a required WEEKLY Test or a required MONTHLY Test?
3. What alerts do the Radios give off?
Once again, don't feel like you have to answer, I'm just curious because it's my first weather radio.

Answers:
1) Depends on where you live because most NWS offices follow what's called "Blackout Hours" meaning they don't tone any alerts between the hours of 11 PM - 7 AM and any alerts issued overnight will get toned the next day, unless if it's a Tornado Warning.
2) All radios receive a Weekly Test every Wednesday between 11 AM and noon local time.
3) The weather radios will go off for Severe Thunderstorm Watches/Warnings, Tornado Watches/Warnings, Flash Flood Watches/Warnings, etc. Although on certain occasions any non-weather alerts issued will set your radios off.

Weather.im/iembot has a live feed of forecast issuances, Noaa events and Alerts, right when they are issued. It is always there before they are on the radios.

OK, as a retired paramedic and an avid preparedness advocate I MUST ask: how many rooms are in your dwelling? Why do you have ALL these devices in what seems to be a single bedroom? They should be distributed among all levels all rooms of your dwelling! Thanks for supporting the American Red Cross by buying the eTon radios, that will definitely help. But come on if you panic or get excited like you did, you can’t think straight and if you can’t think straight you can’t save yourself! Steady and Calm wins the day every day in every situation!

In Colorado we had a blizzard but I didn’t get a EAS warning
Duh. Colorado is a mile or close to a mile above sea level. Higher level elevation = colder conditions and more BLIZZARDS.
In northwest Illinois, we don't get blizzards. I maybe get 2 to 3 warnings on the EAS per year. I have a few videos on my channel with Tornado Warnings.
