- Hi unicorns! In this video, I share my entire box braid installation and rainbow hair transformation, including the colors and materials I use. It’s been over 7 years since I shared this process, and I’m so excited to be back sharing my colorful hair again! I’m living all my unicorn dreams with my new rainbow micro braids. I hope you enjoy watching the process as much as I enjoyed doing it.
Would you ever wear rainbow hair? I highly recommend it because there’s nothing more magical than looking in the mirror and seeing a rainbow staring back at you!

The year I turned 40, I dubbed THE YEAR OF THE UNICORN!🦄 The entire year I dressed in loud, colorful prints, had rainbow braids and hairstyles, and just lived my best life. It was SOOOO much fun. Even better, I worked for a government agency at the time is a front facing role that also required me to speak at important meetings and etc, and I learned that I never need to worry about my outer presentation. My talent and gifts speaks for themselves, which means I can let my clothes speak for me. My work performance and evaluation were the highest they’d ever been. Living out loud is wonderful, and I love that random strangers always had a big smile on their faces when we came across one another. Yay for promoting joy!!!

You inspired me to try braiding hair into my own hair for the first time ever! I always used to just get someone to cornrow my hair for me and then I'd install already made crochet braids into my hair myself 😅 but this time, braided a bunch of colors into my own hair and I feel pretty proud of myself for actually following through, especially with dealing with ADHD and trying to finish something 😂😂😂 Mine took three days, as I was just dealing with the top of my head (I have the sides and the back shaved).
Thank you for the inspiration, it's tedious, but I think I'm going to keep doing it 😁 And always with colors too, cuz I also love colors XD

My local beauty supply has an entire WALL of awesome colored braiding hair, even ombre and mermaid shades! I haven't been Downtown in a while, but Santee Street/The Alley (for those who know) was my weekend shopping hangout at one point in time, lol.

Where did you get the braiding hair from? Also I saw the flower wall and had to go watch the video on how you did it. I've watched so many other videos just by putting "flower wall" into the search bar here on CZcams. I'm surprised that yours wasn't one of the videos that I'd previously watched. I really like flower walls and wanted one in my home but thought that was just me being ridiculous. Then I watched a CZcams short of one of the owners of St. Honore donut shops in Las Vegas. I left a comment saying whoever did their flower wall did a great job. The owner said that she and her best friend did it. So that's what made me think if a donut shop can have a flower pretty wall then I can have one as well. Btw, you don't look old enough to have been braiding your hair for 30 years. But I started braiding before I was a teenager. So maybe that's the case with you as well. But you look youthful which isn't a bad thing. And you seem to love color. So do I. That's not a bad thing either.
