  • Jomas street (Latvian: Jomas iela) is one of the central and oldest streets of Jūrmala, which during its existence has undergone various changes and transformations. Most of the street is a walking boulevard closed to vehicle traffic, and is populated with restaurants, bars, souvenir booths, fruit stalls and a small shopping complex containing a cinema.
    Jūrmala is a city in Latvia, about 25 kilometres (16 miles) west of Riga. Jūrmala is a resort town stretching 32 km (20 miles) and sandwiched between the Gulf of Riga and the Lielupe River. It has a 33 km (21 miles) stretch of white-sand beach, and a population of 49,325 in 2019, making it the fifth-largest city in Latvia.

    Some people do, but You can't actually skate, scoot or cycle on this particular street. I was charged fine 7 Euros few years ago for being (can't actually call it driving, cause the pace was slower than your moderate walking pace) on a bicycle. Police officer just appeared in front of me. He literally popped out on walkway with a grin on his face and a question: "So where are we [obviously meaning me the infringer] from?" To be honest sign "walk only" was behind flower pot, but there's no point arguing with police. Comforting was that I was not alone charged. The other guy also was charged for the same. Wishing officer good luck with the "harvesting", I took my mustard paper. That's what we call fine notes from police, cause they're respective color shade.
