      In order to vote you have to register. That's when the dept. of elections determines your citizenship status. Then when you finally go to vote they verify your signature, your place of residence and compare it with their records before handing you a ballot. It is a fool proof mechanism. If a non-citizen attempts to vote he or she can be deported. The only illegal ballot that was cast in 2020 was by a Republican in TN, who used his deceased wife's ballot to vote.

This briefing is nothing but a game to create a law that already exists. If they want to add another law, so be it but what they need to do is pass a border bill law! The Republicans are in charge and are doing absolutely nothing but complaining about it so they can use it as a political football instead. Demand that they pass a border

    • @leewuanti4327
      @leewuanti4327 Před měsícem

      The huge difference is everything else that you're showing ID for is something you're going after as a matter of choice. Buying cigarettes is something that you choose and so regulations requires that you present a government valid issued ID. With voting, it's quite different because it's a right enshrined in the Constitution. Once you meet the requirements provided on the Secretary of State government website of your state and your information is recorded, you can exercise your right to vote without interference from anyone. Nobody has ever asked me for an idea for all the years I have exercised my right to vote. I show up at my polling station and when asked for my name, the poll worker locates my name, confirms my address and gives me the ballot. One thing I will not tolerate for a moment is for any poll worker to go beyond that. Any politician in my district who supports the presenting of an ID at a polling place will lose my vote. I have zero tolerance for politicians who keep expanding the role of government in the effort to satisfy their insatiable appetite for power and control.
      If they know of non citizens voting in elections, they need to arrest them or make laws that would carry heavy punishment. They should be dealing with alleged perpetrators instead of encroaching on my right as a law abiding American.

      We already have the law that you have to be a US citizen in order to vote. When you register to vote, didn’t you have to show your Social Security number and date of birth? Didn’t you have to show an ID or birth certificate? There is no way that noncitizens can register to vote now or get a valid ballot or show up to vote because if you don’t have a Social Security number that is ONLY given to US citizens, you can’t vote! This Briefing is some kind of political game because we don’t need a law to prove citizenship that we already have . What we do need is the Republicans that are in charge to pass a border bill so that we have more border security, , More border technology, and new laws that will actually give the power for the president to shut down the border. Right now we only have the power to do a temporary 90 day ban, But that is a Band-Aid that the courts intervene on so we need the laws. Why won’t the Republicans change the law and pass a border bill right now? Why are they not working day and night on that instead of some silly New law that already exist to prove citizenship to vote? I think politicians who fear defeat because they don't trust the voters with the right to choose the candidate of their choice are those who interpret this as cheating. There's no elections integrity issues when they win but when they don't win, it's never because voters prefer the other candidate, but because there was some rigging.
      That's the new normal of these times where politics is entirely about grievances, paranoia, whining and complaining. I have made up my mind not to cast a ballot for any politician who engages in this kind of politics. Why elect someone who's not talking about solutions but grievances?

People from different economic backgrounds, villages, tribes, castes and whatnot. You want to talk about diversity in population, forget the US for a second and look at India. But note this, NOBODY IS PERMITTED TO VOTE WITHOUT VOTER ID OR ANY GOVT AUTHORIZED ID. In fact, the election commission in India would request you to apply for Voter ID if you dont have one as it makes their job easier and you wont be allowed to register on the electoral list without any govt authorized ID.
