In the Teeling Distillery in Dublin, this single pot still whiskey was triple distilled and then matured completely in Portuguese oak barrels. True ! Awesome review 🥃🥃
thanks
Kinihans KASC project had Portuguese oak as a component, an enjoyable whiskey.
very true - the hydrid casks are very unique
Agreed totally with your review. The nose notes are spot on. I actually liked the nose. However, the taste was a oak bomb and not one I particularly enjoyed either. It's out of balance!
yep very oaky
Great info Jason.
I absolutely love TEELING for their "Avant-garde" approach to whiskey-making. We don't have a great selection here in SoCal, but I was able to locate a WoW Chinquapin Oak bottle 👍👍👍 which I will try soon.
BTW, you forgot to mention your "Carrot Cake" flavored Brazilian "Amburana" Oak 😄
True I forgot to mention the "Carrot Cake" flavored Brazilian "Amburana" Oak bottle
Mackmyra use Swedish oak in making their "Svensk Ek" along with other whiskies, and Whisky Works King of Trees is finished in Scottish Oak. I'm sure I've seen mention of Scottish oak in connection with at least 1 other whisky. I don't recall what it was but have a feeling it was also from the Whyte & Mackay stable.
Thanks Eugene!!!
Because we have one tree in Ireland.
LOL
Midleton Dair Ghaelach series, simply means Irish oak
thanks
