Kinihans KASC project had Portuguese oak as a component, an enjoyable whiskey.

Agreed totally with your review. The nose notes are spot on. I actually liked the nose. However, the taste was a oak bomb and not one I particularly enjoyed either. It's out of balance!

    Great info Jason.
I absolutely love TEELING for their "Avant-garde" approach to whiskey-making. We don't have a great selection here in SoCal, but I was able to locate a WoW Chinquapin Oak bottle 👍👍👍 which I will try soon.
BTW, you forgot to mention your "Carrot Cake" flavored Brazilian "Amburana" Oak 😄

Mackmyra use Swedish oak in making their "Svensk Ek" along with other whiskies, and Whisky Works King of Trees is finished in Scottish Oak. I'm sure I've seen mention of Scottish oak in connection with at least 1 other whisky. I don't recall what it was but have a feeling it was also from the Whyte & Mackay stable.
