- Deana FORCES Phil to try Every Burger in the USA! Phil is from Germany and from the outside looking in, the US has a lot of fast food chains specifically for burgers. In this video, we try eight different burger restaurants and rank them to see which one is the best one. We are in the southeast of the USA, so the chains in this area are what we have available. Which restaurant do you think has the best burger? #Burgers #AmericanFood #AmericanRestaurants

What is the best burger you've had and where was it? If you enjoyed this video, you may enjoy: German Husband Tries Southern & SOUL FOOD in the USA! (German Husband Tries Southern SOUL FOOD in the USA! ) or German Husband Tries REAL Donuts in the USA! (czcams.com/video/dFOCVO1A1Kw/video.html )
In n Out double double animal style with a little extra salt and extra onions and peppers, Carls Jr Western Bacon Cheeseburger, Goodtimes Big Daddy Bacon Cheeseburger. My top 3 fast food burgers. Too bad i don’t eat fast food anymore, this video is making me hungry :(
The best one is McDonald's. First of all the price is the best. And the beef is good. But what's good about it is, it's not too thick or thin. And not too messy to eat in the car. Good value. That's why it's the largest burger chain in the world.
Best burger: Burger Nerds, which is a local burger joint. Meat comes from a local butcher and the buns come freshly baked from a local bakery.
We do roasted green chili burgers with a fried egg on it in Colorado and that's my favorite.
In Amsterdam you have halal fried chicken thay have great beef burgers
If Phil tried every burger in the US, it would take thousands of years.
haha probably!
He'd be as big as us Americans.
I was thinking the same thing, plus Deana might have to literally roll him on to the plane back to Germany with how rotund he would get😂. I do feel though they need to take a trip over to the Atlanta area and try this area’s The Vortex (also their chili), and Grindhouse Killer Burgers (Grindhouse also has some truly awesome hotdogs and shakes). Also as for BBQ, Atlanta’s Fox Brothers is great, and not from this area try BBQ from City Lights BBQ is very nice. Three other burger restaurants to try, that aren’t exclusive to the ATL, but aren’t found everywhere are Yeah! Burgers, Farm Burger, and Bad Daddy’s. There also some great burger and other food restaurants especially in the Oakhurst neighborhood of Decatur, GA.
Someone put up a link to some George Motz vids.
Phil,if going to Cleveland please try Steve's Gyros,West Side Market - I hear it's Dudeliciuos🤓
OK, so you missed the golden opportunity here. For McDonald’s, you should’ve done the quarter pounder with cheese deluxe. That would’ve been more comparable to the rest of the burgers that you tried. If you’re going to do the Big Mac, then you have to compare that with the Big Hardee and the Big King as they are all similar with their signature secret sauces.. I suggest a redo. 🍔🍔🍔👍🏻
You mean the 'Royale with Cheese'.
The Big Kahuna is better.
@@FyCMysteryI have heard the Dutch eat fries with mayonnaise 😅
@@hans471and where do you see the problem with that?
@@hans471 you are forgetting to add the (curry)ketchup and onions or mayo, peanut sauce and onions or joppie sauce or or....
@@hans471we germans too
Hardee's is Carl's Jr, in the western half of the US, and there are minor menu differences, but still they are very similar. This is one of the few chains that flame-broils (or char-broils) their burgers over an open flame (also competitors The Habit [served fresh], and Burger King [which then ruins them, by placing them in warming trays, instead of serving fresh]). Most other burger places use a flat top griddle to cook their burgers.
I like their Frisco Burgers.
It's Carl's Jr. in Australia, too. Burgers are OK but most restaurants are dated and not really nice in general.
Oh Woodruff Road. It’s always nuts but definitely on a Saturday. Hardee’s is great for their breakfast biscuits. Both Hardee’s and Bojangles are the fast food biscuit kings in SC. Curly fries are far superior to regular fries. Other than maybe Five Guys fries.
Burger eating life hack: take a bite, then turn the burger upside-down and take another bite. Because the different ingredients hit the different taste receptors in your mouth differently when you turn it upside-down, it causes the taste to change. (Also works on sandwiches!)
You probably can’t get them back east but you need to try In-N-Out Burger, Smash-burger (Texas), Shake Shack.
I second Shake Shack (although I prefer their Shroom Burger) and In-n-Out! As far as I know, Shake Shack started in NYC so they likely have gone down the East coast by now.
I loved in-N-Out when I lived in Los Angeles. But I loved Tommy’s chili cheeseburgers with fries even more!
& Whataburger too!
I’m from the east coast but agree they need to try In and Out .
I can't believe you have not taken Phil to the famous seafood buffets in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. We love them. Take him to Captain George's to start off with.
Love Culver's ! The cheese curds are the best but the burgers are good too.
Love their fish too!!! I can never make up my mind when we go there!
We love 5 guys and Culvers!! Everything is cooked fresh for you at both places!!
Five Guys is just too much and their fries are shit. "hand-cut" fries are always sog city.
Five Guys are very good but have become to expensive
To bad no In-N-Out on the east coast.
We need to try In-N-Out and Whataburger!
@@DeanaandPhil Don't forget to look up the secret menu before going to In-N-Out :D
If you do try it, be sure to get your Double Double _with_ onion. It needs it for balance. Ordering it no onion is a common mistake people make. Ask for grilled onion or animal style if you can't handle raw onion.
My Girlfriend and I just had the Best Fast Food Burger discussion ....
we agree that Carls Jr / Hardees Bacon Western Cheeseburger is the best ....Bacon , Onion rings with tangy BBQ Sauce and the flame broiled patty ....PERFECTION !
I've been meaning to try Cook Out some day and was hoping to see your assessment of their burgers... AND YOU DROVE RIGHT BY IT!!!
Steak and Shake or Culver's is similar to Cook Out burgers I think?
A Whopper is much better than a Big Mac. Judging on the bun *maybe* the McD bun is better but over all the Whopper is better
sounds fake but ok
And neither is any good.
I liked Jr. Meal with extra veggies.
I like Whataburger! I would like to try Culver's. That one looked good.
They are pretty decent. They are good change up to WB from time to time.
There are no Whataburgers in Greenville, unfortunately.
Culver's is the best! If you ever do, try their cheese curds
YES! I am from Texas and Whataburger is the Best!!
Was never a fan .
Well, that was fun to watch :)!!!! Thanks for sharing !!!
Poor Phil! - I sympathize with getting FORCED to eat a lot of delicious burgers 😂
Forcing Phil to eat burgers is like forcing him to have sex. 😂
I actually remember when there was almost no fast food restaurants anywhere. I'm over 60 years old
You should try Rally (in some areas called Checkers). Their burgers are good and the fries are top notch!
I think a 5 for McDonald's is spot on. In my experience, I've never had a bad meal from Mickey D's, but I've never had a great one. You go in knowing what you're going to get, and you're never disappointed. (It's also still one of the places where you can get a decent lunch for $5 - two McDoubles for $3.89 and a large Dr. Pepper for $1. Heck yeah.)
I wish you guys could go to an old school A&W. Not many left, but the root beer float might be worth the trip :)
Only ones left are in Canada
@@user-neo71665 I have one in my hometown in Iowa 😀
I always loved the A&W teen burger and the little root beer steins when I was a kid!
there are still stewart's root beer stands around. similar to a&w, but they mostly sell hot dogs.
And the Papa burger! We still have them in Colorado.
I'm sure Phils doctor made an appointment for him as soon as he saw this video.
Are you trying to drive your husband to an early grave ? LOL
It's ALL DEANA"S FAULT!
omg i need this!!!
yall are the best
Can't believe Phil dissed the McD fires at the beginning of the video... Hahah. Thanks for this great video. Very entertaining.
Good Marketing of Burger King: Yeah, I still laugh whenever I think of that line: "Why eat with a clown when you can dine with a king?"
Was ein super video! Habe die Tage noch an euch gedacht ("hab ich in der letzten Zeit eig mal wieder ein Video von denen angezeigt bekommen? Was machen die wohl so?) :D Ich bin auch total fasziniert von der amerikanischen Fast Food-Kultur, keine Ahnung woher das kommt. Super Video! In Deutschland ist Five Guys auch mein Favorit, wobei ich sagen muss, dass ich Burger King schon immer besser fand als McDonalds und tatsächlich liebe ich da den Whopper :D
Recently discovered your channel! Y’all are hilarious! Love watching 😂
idea just for Phil,
a "Get Germanized " burger with a beef Schnitzel, a good German cheese, German mustard, red cabbage on a Bavarian pretzel bun.😅
Das ist nicht nur für Phil gut, das würde ich auch mögen. Wir haben sowas ähnliches. Ich glaube deiner Idee kommt Krustenbraten mit Semmelknödeln und Rotkohl oder Schnitzelbrötchen am nächsten.
@@Unomann translation, my German is very limited.
@@terrycarter1137 He said he would enjoy that as well, and that we actually have something like in Germany but not with a Schnitzel but with a Pork Roast and German potato dumplings. We also have Schnitzel Brötchen, it's a German Crispy Bread roll with a Schnitzel, Lettuce, Tomatoes, and some Mayo, lots of Bakery Frenchies place sell them.
I saw Dave from Wendy's in a parade , on a float, in Savannah. On St. Patrick Days. He was waving and smiling. That was shortly before he died.
Love watching Phil try southern food. I'm from Anderson, SC
Thanks that I can my comments in German, too, because sometimes my English isn't good enough to express my self exactly.
Why didn't you get cheese on the whopper?
McDonald's quarter-pounder beef is the only patty they offer that is not frozen. When you're REALLY hungry, go for the double quarter-pounder with cheese. It sits in your stomach like a brick for at least 5 hours! You won't need the fries or drink unless you need something to "wash it down" with.
If you ever come to Portugal and want to try all the fastfood we have here at once, every big city here has one or more big shopping malls and the top floor always has lots 15-25 different fastfood stalls to try.
Fun video guys! I can't believe how many burgers you tried. I would have meat sweats!! LOL
You know what's wrong with a Big Mac is that slice of bread in the middle between the two patties and there Ketchup is never fresh tasting !! The ONLY BURGER that I get from McD's is their Quarter Pounder with Cheese ! Mmmmmmm! Yummy ! 😋😋😋😋
I have to try Culver's! Five Guy's is good for me. I loved In N Out when I was in California. I've never tried Hardees but now I will give it a whirl. McDonald's is still fun for me because they had me when I was 7. Memories from McDonald's carry a lot of weight. Pun intended.
My very first job was working at Carl's Jr. They later merged with Hardee's. Carl's Jr. Is known for its Charbroiled Hamburgers. The beef patty is placed in a moving metal belt with a pan beneath to catch all the grease. While the flames cook the patty. This gives the burgers a smoky flavor.
The thing i like best about the Famous Star and Super Star is the sauce ratio. I hate dry hamburgers. So having the right sauce ratio helps ensure a juicy burger. 😊
Wendy's does not freeze their hanburger pattys, they refrigerate them which gives you a fresher tasting burger. The Parmesan fries are deep fried then covered in garlic butter with Parmesan grated cheese and chopped parsley. Those are the green bits.
I was expecting you to get the culver's butter burger. That's the one that I've always heard was their signature burger.
You guys were better off stopping at Persis biryani grill lollll pls do a video there soon! They have buffets on weekends lunch time also. Also jack in the box did have a midnight menu sandwhich thats made of croissant chicken ham cheese hashbrowns but I am not seeing it on their menu online so unsure if they still have those or not 😭 which sucks bc that was soooo delicious and id been wanting one for awhile now you would have LOVED it.
The drive thru's are hilarious. 😅
Thanks a lot for your hard work 😁
Thanks! haha never again 8 burger stops in one video!
You need a Whataburger
You should have got curly fries from Hardees! They are wayy better than the regular fries there
95% of the US in not a road with a bunch of fast food restaurants, like Phil said. You need to get around more.
And the reason the Five Guys Burgers was so sloppy is because you had about 10 toppings on it.
As a German a enjoy your videos in the US very much. 8 burgers a day is a hard challenge. 😊
Would be great if you could do also some more road trip videos.
The problem with Burger King it's either hit or miss, and most of the locations are a huge miss, from food to staff. The few locations with good management, and a functioning team, are actually good, but sadly, uncommon. If it's a good location, it easily beats McDonald's, but usually BK ranks at the bottom of my list, alongside McDonald's. The same can be said of Sonic (it's either a hit, or miss). The only reason for stopping at Jack In The Box, is the curly fries, and nothing else. The top of my list is The Habit, Culver's, Carl's Jr, In-N-Out, and Whataburger.
Dairy Queen is similar as well. Either you get a fantastic burger experience, or it's bottom of the barrel awful. And yeah, Whataburger is tops when it comes to fast food burger places.
😂😂😂 You guys are such a great team and you help me leave the USA and eat without spending money awesome 😊
“You shouldn’t praise the day before the evening” LMAO that is so German of Phil 😂
Congratz Phil!! Welcome to America sir!
"forcing you". Cmon man just say you really want burgers haha
If you’re looking for the next challenge, you gotta do the Philly Cheesesteak!
In Philadelphia
@@nrubsol Besides the obvious Pats Genos Tony Luke’s; recommendation where?
@@ghostbullet85 John’s Roast Pork
@@ghostbullet85 those three places are tourist traps
Love cheesesteaks ! In Pittsburgh try the Promanti Bros cheesesteak .
Love watching your videos. You guys should come to Montreal Canada, and do poutine, smoke meat sandwiches and bagel reviews!
I was worried you guys wouldnt have Culvers on the list because it isnt as wide spread. The burgers are smash burgers(the best way to cook a burger imo) so yeah doubles are the best option
quite entertaining, thank you.
Need to see In N Out and Whataburger!!
Prices went stupidly high this year, including beef. In order to keep prices down, restaurants decreased the size & amount of beef in their burgers. I dont know if I would have eaten so many burgers in one day like you did. I salute you!
The 2nd stop was like a Carls Jr. in Cali.
Der Titel ist großartig! Aber mal ehrlich, so wie ich Phil durch Eure Videos kennen gelernt habe, ist er schon ein echtes Schleckermäulchen und die eigentliche treibende Kraft, wenn es um Burger geht! 😜
Videos like this are either great or disastrous for diets. In my case, all that food makes me never want fast food again. Gag!
In n out burgers when I could have burgers, they were the best. Fun video! Thanks!
Lighting at five guys was good af
You have to take Phil to Milwaukee, there is a large German community there with plenty of authentic German food!
Absolutely correct. Most of the U.S. is one big street with every conceivable chain store and restaurant in the U.S. I mean there are some places that with nice towns or cities, but in between - it's malls, chain stores and chain restaurants.
As a Wisconsinite, I love Culver's burgers. They're my favorite.
I usually order the double deluxe butter burger without onions since i don't like them.
Also it's nice that you can order a side of cheddar cheese to go with the fries.
That's what I've started doing with mine for something different.
Edit: Personally I think Five Guys and Wendy's is overrated, but that's me.
Burger King is my second favorite after Culver's since I love the mayo in
their burgers but everyone is different.
Yes, Culver’s is better…however a lot of us have to settle for Five Guys because we don’t have Culver’s yet!
I do have to say though that the service at Culver’s, Five Guys & Chik Fil A simply cannot be beat!!! They are beyond excellent, & they always go above and beyond to help customers!!! 🥰💗🥰
I went to Culvers three times, each time I tried different items. Everything I tried was terrible. Haven’t gone back
If you find the Whataburger chain, try their burger. My favorite!
Also, they have the best fries, ever!!🍔🍟
Just found your channel today, you guys are so much fun to watch. ☺️
For a chain, Whataburger is great. But, they are darn hard to find outside of Texas!
Oklahoma
I feel like your cholesterol is now American, Phil, if not your citizenship. 😂
He looks healthy to me…
Actually the worst thing is all the bread which makes you fat and gives you diabetes
Wouldn’t it be great if the USCIS would fast track citizenship if you could eat 8 fast food burgers in a day?! Haha. I enjoyed the video. Kudos to you both for indulging for a day.
Loving your food-posts and cultural reports. More of these, please.
The mess at the end I can relate to.
The Whopper is my favorite/my treat after a full day driving back from Atlanta to Gainesville, FL.
5 Guy's French fries are addictive they are so good awesome burgers good also but expensive.
I grew up in New England I am always amazed at the number of fast food restaurants outside the Northeast. Even on commercial strips there are fewer chain restaurants. In a state of 7.5 million there are 3 Sonics. I think I have seen a few Chick=Fil-a's
Try not to eat the paper....😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Carl's Jr (Hardees in the West - Denver, CO) had/has a Breakfast burger that's SO addictive. I think you can "secret menu" it at Hardees.
Sadly, no In N Out, Whataburger, Arby's...but only Arby's is available in the South. Also Cookout (never been).
Every burger? I don't know, eight options in the U.S. seems like only the tip of the iceberg, lol. Looks like you likely hit up the most popular ones for this video, though. For the most part I agreed with your assessments. In Texas we have a chain called Whataburger that usually beats out the rest. Welcome to the US, Phil! Hope you enjoy your stay.
can't believe I even started watching this!!!!!!!!!
Never heard of Culvers, but that burger looked amazing!
I miss Culver's! We used to have one in my town but it closed :( Whataburger is my go to now.
I saw a cookout and surprised you didn’t stop there for the burger challenge
I live in a small town in Southern Illinois. Our biggest industry at the moment is Fast Food. It used to be Coal Mining, but you know how that goes, right? But the Fast Food Joints we have are Arby's, Burger King, Hardees, McDonald's, SONIC, KFC, Taco Bell, and Wendy's. We also have a few Chinese and other Mexican restaurants. Out of all the burger joints, i would have to say tge Hardees burgers are probably the best tasting. The thing i always have a problem.with is that the leaf lettuce is so slippery that the sandwich tends to slide apart.
As former Mc D’ employee (90’s) my time working there was an eye opening the cook would drop the frozen Pattie’s by accident to the floor & manager would say nah pick it up the heat will killed everything 😢 I was in charge of the fries and register so I touch money & try not touch fries. Burger King their patties are all ready made before you order & is keep in warmer bins ( like every fast food chain except Culver & 5 Guys ) that dry them out or in commercial microwave ( look at tik toks ) I feel for both of you eating BK 😢 I’ve been in Germany in 06’ & Germany have high standards in fast foods ❤ thanks for video my favorite so far is BBQ video because I live in the north and is not the same as in the south 😋
My favorite is Smashburger, but they don’t have drive thru’s. Come to the West Coast and try In-N-Out. I haven’t seen a Hardee’s in the West, but could be wrong. Never been there, but you guys made it look good! And, McDonalds fries are simply the best!
My go-to at Hardee's is a monster burger on sourdough. They also have killer breakfast sandwiches.
The way this area is designed looks like absolute hell. Nothing but cars.
Big Macs were better before they got rid of the old heat lamp system 20+ years ago. I've tried a couple times since then and been disappointed, all stale bun and lettuce.
You guys are so right about burger King whoppers now! 😂😂😂
I would say that the Quarter Pounder is now the most popular and now well known from McDonalds.
There's some decent burgers to be had here in the states in the mega-chains, but where the REAL flavor is at is the smaller and more unique local places, rather than the global chains.
Just the "mom and pop's burger shack" kind of businesses.
Where I live, you see a number of these places here and there that have been around for decades, and if you can find them, you will see flavor combinations you couldn't dream of getting from the likes of mcdonalds.
Bonus if their ingredients are locally sourced from nearby farms, rather than the mass-produced factory stuff shipped in from out of state.
Hardee's is called Carl's jr. On the West coast
Their numbers may be declining, especially after COVID-19, but my favorite burger chain by far is still Fuddruckers! You guys definitely need to give them a try sometime.
Not fast food
Five Guys is my favorite and locally (Austin, TX) I like P. Terry's. I had no idea Hardee's had burgers! Last time I went was in the 90's for their roast beef sandwich. But I guess their roast beef sandwich was a bigger thing when I was little in the 80's and 90's. I thought Hardee's was just another Arby's this whole time. Learned something new! Thanks for filming this so I don't have to waste my time eating at those other places and just keep going to Five Guys. And Culver's especially for frozen custard 😁
Wonder how you guys would rate shake shack or in and out. Great video.
Haha, anyone of those burgers will look like your Five Guys burger if you go inner-city. I stopped eating normal fast food except White Castle and the occasional cheese burger from McD's. I'd like to hear your take on White Castle sometime.
Congrats on your citizenship!
Btw, Culver's looks like the upgrade of a Whopper!🤣 EVERYTHING on it! Maybe fresher? Yes, Hardee's.
Shake Shack had thr best burger patties. Crunchy outside and backyard cookout smokiness
Sad that anyone would think strip malls, parking lots and fast food is American culture. Guess we brought that on ourselves. Burger King used to be my favorite but it has gone downhill. Too bad no In N Out, Fatburger, Dairy Queen. Hardee’s must be Carl’s Jr on the west coast. Sometimes I crave the little McDonalds burger. What’s with that?
We had arbys in Glasgow long time ago they did curly fries loved them
The best burgers in US are CULVERS, then DAIRY QUEEN and last In N Out Burger. I pass on all the others. Culvers has a FANTASTIC FISH sandwich & a AWESOME Ruben. Their ice cream is NUMBER ONE TOO.
Woodruff Rd is the most crowded road in Greenville. Rest of the city is easy driving. I wish you visited Hans and Franz.... google them. German owned but South Carolina influence. Glad you visited.
Thank you so much for saving me the time in case I was tempted to go to Sonic again: ) I used to think the Whopper was the ultimate burger but either I changed or they changed it, I have only disappointment now. 5 Guys in Koeln was a nice surprise, and free refills and unlimited ketchup/mayo make the price worth it. I have a theory that the best burgers are what we call "disaster burgers."
Their taste isn't necessarily your house. View this as fun, but please try burgers and make your own choice.
