Omg! This is so true! I am so tired of families in Laos. It's a never-ending support.
For realz. Over here, when we need a housing renovation and don’t have the funds, we get a lone or just don’t renovate. But i have aunts who live well in laos, but when they want to renovate their house, they called and ask for donation.
I have an aunt in Laos who calls me every fn day through messenger. Finally blocked her. She doesn’t ask for money directly but she will mention how broke she is and she want this and that… I am broke too, plus I’d rather give my kids the money instead…
Same here. Best to not befriend any relatives in Laos. Asking for donations are never ending.

Wow this is an educational story. We should love our people who deserved to love and support but we should look at what we earn and will pay.

It’s good to hear from someone who is from Laos and feels this frustrations of having to provide for her families in Laos. This is why I don’t send money to Laos to families, I sound greedy, but I’d rather spend that money on my kids and family vs sending it to Laos. People in Laos, they wait for you to send money over while they live in luxury and while you have to bust your butt off, work day and night. Stop sending money if you don’t have money. I feel that when you need their help, they’re not there to help you, except you help them only. You’re bettering their life but your life is behind. This is your family and you’re this frustrated, listening to your story is already so frustrating, I could not imagine being in your shoe. Hmong people in Laos (this applies to people who are like these people in the story only, not all are like these people), are like vultures, money hunger and selfish people, all they think is themselves and to better themselves only.

I came to the USA in 1989 as a second generation to grow up in America even to this day at times my mom treats me and my sisters like this as well if we don’t give her money we don’t love her is what her words are there have been times where I politely put my mom in her place I love my mom but sometimes my sisters and I are just an ATM to my mom it makes me depressed sometimes 😢
Most Hmong nplog have very thick faces. They will use every excuse to take money from you. You have to have guts to say no without worrying about their feelings because they don't care about your feelings.

Wow I never thought someone would speak up about this situation. Growing up in America I watched my parents who has just arrived in the early 90's send money back to both their families back in laos/Thailand, I see them struggling to pickup phone calls because their families think they are rich in America. They have just arrived, knows no English, have 5 kids under age 10 to raise and yet both sides begged for money nonstop. Just watching them struggle is enough I can't imagine having to be in their shoes.

Our welfare system is with our US government, but the Laos people welfare system is the goodwill of people from the US and other wealthier countries. I blame their government for not taking care of their own people. End of Story!

@@pengvang5831 : There's no need to get upset at the Laos government. Laos already has it's own system set up. It may be different than ours but it still work for its people. Laos doesn't tax its citizens like here. Laos allow their people to hunt, fish and eat off the land for free. They can use whatever natural resources available and to even build their homes. If they want more than what the government offers them, they will just have to earn it themselves. There is nothing wrong with this.
I've never met folks more money hungry than our own folk's left behind in the motherland. It's freaking sad.
Well I have and she is from Laos. She has confirmed to me that she needs money. So it confirms that she came here to the US for money. Now with the luck we will be or hopefully another Laos relative who has the same interests. So I am turning a blind eye when there are issues.
Life isn't easy no matter what country you live in. Learn how to help yourself first before helping others. It's good to be generous but never at the cost of your own well-being.

This boils my blood just listening to this as it is so true. I am not saying all are like this but the majority are like this. My brother in law went to Laos to marry a woman there and it's been almost 5 years. She has not been her but her bank has fully fill her life style in Laos as well as making her family rich. They opened a store, have a nice house like you mentioned. Cars and many more. Yet he still wants to marry her. She doesn't seem like she wants to come because she has fail over 4 times trying to do paperwork and interview. Her parents is her back bone. So they have the riches while he has none.
So, if you do choose someone in Laos be careful and choose wisely. There are good ones like this lady. If you get a bad one your life is like raising 2 family. You poor and them rich.
This lady is not any good! She is just another one of them. She make her family rich…and still lesson not learn and bring her parents to the state. She finally realize that life is behind. She is to blame.
