I danced this song at a Halloween party in '87 or '88. The girl danced as hard as I did, and we stayed on the floor together all night. We both stayed in costume, and we never unmasked. We both recognized tacitly that nothing else we had together would be as good as the night we danced so well with that stranger.
This is one of the best unreleased songs of the 80's. I always play it for fans of the 80's who have never heard it. Thanks for posting. It was a strange funk-phase for ABC, but it all worked in this great pop song! (It's the same beat as Mambo # 5, perhaps a great DJ could mix the two) #5 Storey Halo or 15 Storey Mambo!!
Around 3 minutes 20 in when the instrumental part kicks in and "the hands that soothe the human race" part begins - still makes the hairs on the back of neck stand on end! Fantastic song.
Me and my fellow choir geeks would sing this song for fun and warm up back in high school, this and "Leave It", by YES. Bak when I was young and talented! lol
I found this cassette laying in an Oakland CA parking lot circa 1980-1990-somethin' and threw it in Bob's BMW Alpine - happened to be at the beginning of this song, which we'd never heard before, but something about it got into his blood, I didn't know that Tii could go so fast 😆
Haven't heard this since it was broadcast on TV back in the 80's. It was a guest apoearance on a comedy show that has been lost to memory I was expecting the gold lame suits and instead it was the bizarre set up they had and I loved the song. Not like their old stuff, a much more quirky sound. Odd how listening transports me back to those days, nearly 40 years ago now. Where'd my life go!
How would I go about getting the copywrite to this song? I want to use the last part (3:05 on...) in a musical. I love the music at the end. It would be awesome for scene switches and time passage.
"But with that 15 storey deadstop You're going nowhere, and fast" I used to think he was saying, "But with that 15 storey Death Star You're going nowhere, and fast"

My god, this is fantastic. How come this song was not released as a single?
If you do not move to this song, you're dead.
Or should be? #contentious
Don't you threaten me!...

I agree. But it's "Lay" hands that soothe, "Lay" hands that soothe the human race.
Damn right!

Heard this song for the first at the Dr's office yesterday. I'm surprised I had never heard it before. Oingo Boingo vibes going on. 😊

Sounds like Shriekback...like I thought it was a misprint!
Why isn't this song used in Hollywood movies?!?!

Just lift it anyway - if they try to sue, claim 'fair use', that's what I'd do...
Wot can i say!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍🤜🤜
Not much really!
I once had weird dream in which the video for this song was an XXX video clip starring Martin Fry! It was more comical than erotic. VERY weird though!
"But with that 15 storey deadstop
You're going nowhere, and fast"
I used to think he was saying,
"But with that 15 storey Death Star
You're going nowhere, and fast"
