Fantastic! Don't ya just love that old mandolin!
Brilliant. I think that I hear the song in my head like you play. I just haven't been able to play it yet.
One of the best versions of this song on CZcams no doubt. Just great vocals and the accompaniment is right on!
LOVE YOUR PLAYING/SINGING!!
My fave version so far of this....and that after hearing Doc Watson and the other greats doing it! Thank you. Great video too. Great guitar and mando playing.
Thanks again for checkin out my vids Nathan... I appreciate all your nice comments ...I'v been singin brokedown for years its a great tune real fun on mando It's just another tune I haven't gotten too yet...my biggest thing is gettin quiet time to record tunes I got a 4 year old runnin around bein crazy all day everyday...and lots of other things goin on...The amount of stuff I have totally worked out and ready to record(in a take or two) by far exceeds the amount of time I have to work
Oh! You're more than welcome. It's my pleasure.
I'm chuffed to bits about your contribution.
Doc Watson may forgive me, but this is definitely the best version of this song, I ever heard.
Period.
Nice video and song. I'm picturing black and white grainy farm scenes interspersed with the studio scenes.
I bought me a mando mainly after hearing this song it has an old spooky pioneer romantic spirit to it, roots music. Nicely done
masterpiece
5 stars, pleasure to watch, listen and learn. Thank you
This has to be one of the best versions of this song on CZcams!
Thanks I appreciate it ;)
Nicely done. Thanks for reminding me how much I like this song. You did it justice. Thanks!

I love this song and you have one of the best recordings out there. I was wondering if you take song requests? My buddy and I always play a Rocky Top mandolin and guitar duet. I'd love to hear you play it if you could.
This tune was beautifully done...& a lot of work doing it the way you did.
@heathhampton I dont have anything out there yet... but I think theres some sites that convert youtube audio tracks into Mp3's for ya...I plan on getting some more traditional tunes up soon Thanks for your nice comments BB

You NAILED that 1! LOVE THIS RENDIDTION!! I was brought up around bluegrass but strayed to the Grateful Dead. HA! Your vocals are right on the money! Ok. I can see I have some digging to do! You're Good!!! I hope I find a 'BROKEDOWN PALACE'!! :D

Cassic. I love it. Now in my faved :)
Awesome ;)
nice.
May I ask which chords your using to strum this, please? Amazing job, by the way!
Dm and C
That is awesome! Really really fine job and GREAT arrangement of the song! How did you create that combined video? What software I guess. Really like it!!
So far, I've had to listen to every video at least TWICE! So happy I found this while watching some VERY old Carter Family videos. Do you play at any major Bluegrass Festivals? I live in GA, but I could travel to hear this fine music!
wow
i see you went for the garcia grisman way. very chill and modern. the more folky versions feel very adventurous with wholesome lyrics. lol none of the infidelity and sometimes an f chord in there too.
Thanks, Yeah I'm a big Grisman Garcia fan. For some reason I liked singing it better w/o the F sometimes playin it I sneak the F in ;)
i WANT YOUR mp3 Compilation of this where can i get it?
This is so good. I've about got it down on mandolin, except for the first solo. Any tips you could give?
