    Bullet points in EN:
    • Diverge became much more off-roady, so if you ride mostly tarmac, consider Roubaix instead.
    • It isn't exactly a lightweight bike (2016 is considerably lighter).
    • Nevertheless it isn't slow (identical times on my testing circuit).
    • I would prefer SRAM groupset on it, which performs better under load.
    • The spring in FutureShock 2.0 could be stiffer.
    • Original tire Specialized Pathfinder Pro doesn't excel on wet dirt or mud, I'd switch to e.g. Panaracer GravelKing SK.
    • I love the threaded bottom bracket.
    • I love the SWAT compartment.
    • I love the saddle.

I would love to understand what you say. I am riding the first gen diverge expert with the dirty martini color and thinking about upgrading because of the dead end from the scs wheels. Cheers!

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't notice your comment until now. Let me cite my notes from a Diverge group on Facebook where I've posted this video too:
"And since my summary is in Czech, let me share my impressions of 2021 here:
      • Diverge became much more off-roady, so if you ride mostly tarmac, consider Roubaix instead.
      • It isn't exactly a lightweight bike (2016 is considerably lighter).
      • Nevertheless it isn't slow (identical times on my testing circuit).

      • The spring in FutureShock 2.0 could be stiffer.

      • I love the threaded bottom bracket.
      • I love the SWAT compartment.
      • I love the saddle."
And since you mentioned 135mm axle, yes, that's the greatest disadvantage of my 2016 Diverge and yours too. But custom wheels with custom hubs are still an option. I love the sleekness of my old Diverge and I'm using it mostly (99%) as a road bike, so the new Diverge would be too bulky for my use, 25c would look ridiculous within that humongous arch of the front fork. Needless to say, if I had the money, I'd definitely buy the 2021 Diverge as my second bike, for proper gravel/MTB rides with my friends.
