- What a day, what a game, what a final!!
Aside from a cagey opening 40 minutes where both sides were careful not to make error, this was a game that was deserving of the occasion.
Ironically the opening goal came due to an individual mistake, but from that point on this was a match where two sides simply went hammer & tongs in their pursuit of glory.
Three goals in the second period didn’t tell the whole story, & when they hit the bar & a post in extra time the team in white may have thought it wasn’t going to be there day.
However, they ultimately held their nerve better from 12 yards to reach the promised land of the football league for the first time in their history.
