Sam is so entertaining that he made what should've been one of the more annoying or boring parts of the show that most people would ignore or skip into something that most fans look forward too and consider a very important part of the show.

so true... critical role streams really late where I'm from so I can't watch it live, but I often log on just to catch the first half hour and that usually means I only get to watch Sam's adds before shutting down for the night. Worth it to end my day on a good laugh XD
Genuinely, at the end of a lot of those ads, Matt goes 'thank you to DnDbeyond, and... I'm sorry.'
But the secret is, Sam makes ads that people actually want to watch, and even if they're only tangentially related to what the actual ad is for, he usually gets the required bit in, so I can't imagine that the sponsors have much room to complain at all.
I will never get over how Laura's voice drop to below zero in enthusiasm when the radio play reached the fart parts.

I have to say that leaving aside the higher production values of C3, probably the sound effects for a radio play is the most ludicrously funny thing Sam ever did for an ad, closely followed by the making a cocktail ad
Radio play is #1 for me cause it amazing when listening and watching it.

I just adore his ads. Usually I skip ads but I try my hardest to be on time just for the ads. My partner and I don't always get to watch the entire show but we always make it to the first 30 or so minutes it takes for one of Sam's ads.

The real question from one of the critter was, is it more or less expensive to have Sam do the ads VS not do the ads.
@@Blue_Lunacy Not sure why I'm thinking about this, but someone could probably design a good experiment around it. In the most simplest form, with the participation from one of the non-super corporate ad sponsors and without CR's participation, it would involve taking any one of the Sam-only ad reads from like the first campaign and getting the numbers of how much uptake there was from people using the links versus how many people actually purchased something and what the revenue was. Chart that over perhaps the first three months after the ad ran and then compare that cost to how much it cost for a weekly ad and then voila! You've got at least one indicator on how cost-effective the most simplest of Sam Riegel ad reads can be.
