MultiChantal22 you can’t always replace tumbling with dance elements. You can have 5 dance elements counted MAX. You get 3 acro, 3 dance, and 2 option skills counted toward your D score. You have to count as least 3 acro which is why she did that.
@@user-kh9ki3kq8m No, this was using 2013-2016 COP where it states maximum 5 acros and minimum 3 dances (unlike the recent code which states minimum 3 acros, 3 dances, and 2 optional). Gymnasts are allowed to count as low as 2 acros (1 for mount and 1 for dismount, they have to do minimum 2 acro lines). Lieke Wevers was one of those who only had 2 acros (on this same competition) where she did only double back and a 2.5 backward twist and the rest 6 skills that she hdad were dance skills.
On Podium Training she was trying to do triple twist as her second pass, but it was a little underrotated, so I think that they replaced by the double to avoid more deductions
this was a mess, when team Russia was on TF iwas surprised that actually they fight for the medal, cause honestly, even Mustafina didn´t show a good execution troughtout the entire competition

i think they choose her because daria is the uneven bars champion in 2015,which can help the russia team score higher, and because china is so good on uneven bars too.
