    Thank you so much for these videos. I start this same regimen on Monday & am going to use the Penguin Cold Caps. I love the devotional you include at the end. I know this is an opportunity to draw near to the Lord

    I just did my second round last Thursday, I had insomnia, brain fog and a nagging nausea feeling for daaaays, the first round caused me mild nausea with muscle and joint pain, Tylenol and compazine helped with those side effects. I started losing my hair about 18 days after the first round, so ended up shaving it.

      I feel like the side effects get a little worse with each session and the recovery takes a little longer after each session as well. Hydrating helped me so much!! Did they tell you to take Claritin to prevent bone pain? That helped me so so so much!! 💕

    Congrats! I am about to start my treatments and am using the Penguin cold caps. I was told by the rep to not let my head get too hot or sweaty. Did you do anything special to keep your head cooler while doing your workouts? TIA

      You are going to do great!! I did nothing special. I had a fan going most of the time though so I’m sure that helped. I also “washed” my hair with conditioner daily and only shampooed my hair like once a week. I didn’t wash the few days before or after chemo as prescribed though

    There is a new technique for eyebrows that is almost like a stamp! It may work for you 💖

      Can I make it with a desk job that requires concentration 🤔?

      So for me, my chemo sessions were on Thursday’s and by Tuesday of the following week I was feeling much better. For me, the day after chemo was ok. But days 2-4 were harder - low energy & just feeling achy. I feel like my cognitive function was pretty good the entire time but sometimes I would lose my train of thought (not super often but I did notice it). What do you do for a living?

      @breastcancerjourney.dr_colburt thanks for your reply .. seems like I did a good research for deciding my infusion date .. i choosed thursday too so that fatigue just hit on weekends. I'm a design engineer pretty much staying on the desk all day long nos site visits . What I'm afraid of is to lose concentration as its so much needed specifically on submission dates . Also I'm not a native english speaker .. i struggle expressing ideas and finding suitable words during meetings because of anxiety and lack of confidence that i rarely talk while tons of ideas on my mind (so much easy words that i know but they just run away ) so I'm afraid things get worse during treatment.
      Also what about being around coworkers in an open space infection wise?

      @@rihamsalah84 I honestly think you should wear a mask around co-workers b/c your immune system will be weakened. I’m an orthodontist so I wore a KN95 mask & a level 3 surgical mask everyday with patients and it was a success for me. I put systems in place with my team to help me stay organized. I found that writing things down was super helpful b/c I could organize my thoughts after writing them down. I actually take a supplement called ginkgo biloba to help with brain function. I think it helps so much. It takes a couple of weeks to get into your system but I think it really helped me! I still take it now too.

    May I ask , did you do anything special to help maintain your eyebrows and finger nails

    • @breastcancerjourney.dr_colburt
      @breastcancerjourney.dr_colburt Před rokem +1

      No. I did use the ice gloves during chemo so maybe that helped with the fingernails?? I ended up losing all of my eyelashes & eyebrows about 8 weeks after my last chemo session. Then it took about another 8+ weeks for them to grow back
