- It’s crazy to say it, but they totally look and taste like fried chicken except Vegan! Anthony thought I bought him KFC when he saw the tray haha!
These are a great substitute and are my take on vegan fried chicken.

I don't care if it's fried "chicken" or fried oyster mushroom, as long as it comforts me. This became my late-night, movie, etc. snack now.

its really obnoxious that people can't get over their hatred of plant based foods taking over. This recipe was amazing. I served it up as Vegan Fried Chicken and all my friends who KNOW i'm plant based loved it and knew it was something other that chicken and were NOT offended by the use of the name. They were actually very interested in HOW i made it and what type of mushrooms were used. The entire platter was devoured and I didn't have to stand over it and make sure that everyone knew. #hatersgottahate

I'm not vegan, but do appreciate EASY, truly delicious vegan recipes that match the flavour & texture of the favourite dish, but they have to be EASY to make.... this recipe Im happy to say... ROCKS for fried chicken!... I even made it in my airfyer. I dipped in non-vegan honey mustard ( honey- came from our happy bees)

When you need to adjust your food due to health reasons, naming recipes a certain way helps with the journey.
It tears apart like chicken, takes on any flavor, it's breaded and fried like chicken, so if I'm looking for healthy "chicken", I'd choose this recipe.
Not just that pure vegan eventually has its issues since there's even famous people who serve as evidence that being full vegan leads to malnutrition. We are meant to have a mixed diet...

I’m not upset I just know there no nutrients when you fry. I wish the vegan narrative could just switch to a plant based nutrient dense foods. The word vegan is a western word that is mixed bag of bad marketing with processed foods that don’t provided nutrients

Assuming? They want to find things to stand in because many probably used to eat meat and/or animal products and they miss the flavor. I don’t eat red meat and admittedly some times I miss it. If I gave up all animal products my diet would change drastically, and finding a good that imitates what I’m used to would make it a bit easier. For many reasons.

I asked my daughter that, she said she ate meat for 21 years ( shes 25) she said she wants meat but won't eat it because she objects to how the animals are treated, but she still wants meat sometimes and things like beyond meat burgers fill that desire. Some vegans are raised to be vegan she was not

So to start the journey and to make it interesting and to find things to compensate to what they ate before they might name it this way. This makes them feel like, they are actually eating it.
