Yes all the small home owner husqvarna saws that's assembled in the USA is actually at the old poulan warehouse that husqvarna had bought out in the early 2000's my honest opinion is the poulans make a bit more torque then the husqvarna the 38mm poulan cylinders was pretty decent not as strong as the husqvarna 40mm cylinders until they started the 41mm cylinders and those little dudes rip very first seas I started out with and they are screamers the bad thing on the 2000 series poulans is the intake manifolds bottom bolt typically comes loose causing a akr leak and usually kills them so loctite not the blue but the red is your friend when doing these saws the husqvarna I would use a little bit of ultra black r 1184 for the intake boot and pulse tube. The poulan is a cheaper saw to rebuild then the husqvarna and a lot easier to rebuild if someone is wanting to learn a 2 stroke. Glad I found this video hopper. Keep it up.
I wanted that saw 20 years ago but couldn't justify the extra $150+ over the Husky 261 for the .6 hp difference. Still have my 261 and it's been all I need but I kind of want to convert it to the 262 😌
@@richr1870 It has very little use on it. I'm a "recreational" wood cutter, lol. I've gone through maybe 4 chains ( hand filing) and the one of the original bars that I use the most is just starting to get a sloppy groove.
..that SP-81 sounded a bit lean to me...especially toward the end there..was it out of fuel, or was there an air leak/carb issue?..I've been working on saws for nearly 30 years, and it seems still, more often than I care to admit, when I build a saw for somebody, I'll get her dialed in and purring...then when the customer comes to pick it up, it will start changing between rich and lean condition, hard to start, etc...all on it's own :(
I'm waiting on some parts to come in for a husqvarna 350 I got a whole mess of saws off a guy that closed up a small engine repair shop keep up the great work mr bell!
Hi, I'm going to rebuild my Husqvarna 41 and I don't see a head gasket in the service manual. To me it looks like their just using RTV Silicon rather than a head gasket. I have worked on a lot of engines and I can't believe the RTV would be strong enough. Am I right about this the use of RTV instead of a head gasket?
Hey Bellhopper! Wish I caught this video earlier. Don't know if you changed the impulse pipe which should be.I own a couple of these saws that work great! Take care EVERYBODY!..ALOHA!...
Mr. Bell I've got a question that may sound off the wall stupid, but I gotta know. Would it be possible to put a 460 rancher top end on that 41 to gain 20cc? Both saws have 32mm strokes.
You are a great nephew! I know he appreciates that saw

Bell hopper do u think it’s worth it to port a Stihl Ms310?
Ive done a 290 but if you want it hot get a ms390 cyl and piston and port it that makes em real stout
Bell hopper mcculloch chainsaws ok that makes sense....if I want to send you a saw how do I do that sir
Andrew Lloyd if you haven’t already you’ll need to email him and he will send you his number and address there for you to ship it to him.
Andrew Helms point me in the right direction where to look....I cannot find the email

Hate to break it to ya folks, ported saws are just a fad! 🤣
Lol yea no fun in them at all lol🤣🤣🤣
Do a gasket delete maybe ?
Its a clam shell design buddy it mates around the crank bearings
That would make you the chainsaw magician....just leave a box of parts, and Abra Cadabra, it's a chainsaw !
Yes sir thats wat happened i promise lol

Thank you sir for the reply. I was tryn to think outside the box lol
@@brandytequilagilbert3469 nothing wrong with that i was comparing cyls off other saws when i pulled it apart lol
Could you show how the fuel tank pressure valve comes out?
On what saw buddy i think we have a video changing one in a 55 rancher and a 288xp
I have a 254 xp that leaks fuel when you fill the tank over 2/3 full
Bell hopper mcculloch chainsaws I have a 254 xp
