Pokémon Run & Bun is at it's core a difficulty hack of Emerald, created by dekzeh. It is hard.
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Pokémon I find on each Route.
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode
Extra Rules:
7. EVs are turned OFF

It’s fun because it is exhausting, It tests your planning skills and resource management like no other Pokémon romhack but it certainly isn’t for the faint of heart

There are different type of fun that depends on person.. For me i like to watch some1 struggling, personally i wouldnt play r&b

the fact that anything that got nerfed got unnerfed, anything that got buffed stayed buffed, is just evil. Just arbitrary difficulty for absolutely no reason
it's not really *arbitrary difficulty*. A lot of people exactly want that difficulty. There's a lot non-difficult roms to play for people who don't want that.
Not sure if any of my mini reviews has made it into an HL, but I actually think that it's very clear how much thought was put into the balance and design of this game and I've never felt like things were made arbitrarily difficult for no reason. With very few exceptions, everything is reasonable and the game does a good job at giving you answers and tools to address big threats (e.g. Aerial Ace before sand Veil mons). The ability to fully understand the AI is really helpful in this regard, because theres always an explanation as to why something does something.
The main exception is CRR, where I think indeedee Terrain + Speed Boost blaziken is pretty unfair, but that's only for tort players who get away free on a lot of other fights.
My biggest complaint is that the game feels extremely encounter dependent. That's true about most games, but it's frustrating here that some pokemon are just overwhelmingly better (viv, toge, talonflame) and getting them is a total toss up. And on the flipside, you get punished for pulling certain pokemon that are literally totally useless (lumineon instead of masq, octillery instead of literally anything else). That part's not very fun for me, but fortunately even not great encounters (pidgeot, min-speed sharpedo) can get SOME use!
I've been on a rotation of highlight, main channel, and vods channels here lately and I just gotta say thank you much Dr for prescribing my pokemon fix. I salute you 🫡
