  • This video shows paint enhancement and preparation for a ceramic coating on hard clear coat. This C 6 Corvette with jet black paint will have its finish perfected and protected by Apex Detail. This video shows the process from start to finish. We will also have a chance to look at Ethos Ceramic Matrix Coating! Ceramic Matrix Coating is the latest evolution of ceramic technology. Ceramics (Sio2) have been studied and refined over the years, making them one of the most trusted forms of protection on the market. Ceramic Matrix offers an incredible balance of performance and value, making it our best iteration yet.

    Damn, your timing on this one couldn't have been more perfect... Thank You. I just picked up a black '05 C6 3 weeks ago, and it looks great from about 6' away, but some pretty good water spotting, few bird poop stains, and lots of light cob-web swirls when you get up on it. Never done any kind of correction before, and I've been binging on you, Pan, Dallas, and Autogeek... gotta admit there's so much out there that it's confusing what to use.

    • @craig.encinitas
      @craig.encinitas Před 3 lety +1

      @jamest7485 Před 3 lety +2

      Go for it!
      Watching all these videos can make it seem confusing and overwhelming. Trust me I've been there. But there are many guides online that outline the process and simplify the steps needed. As far as products, it depends on what you're attempting to do. Just pick a brand and stick with that. And always remember, price isn't always the deciding factor when picking products. Paint correction and polishing is the hardest part, but so worth it. There's no replacement for experience, so just dive in and I'm certain you'll surprise yourself with how well it comes out.

    • @karolisrum6573
      @karolisrum6573 Před 3 lety +2

      I also love to watch Car Craft Auto Detailing. He always says that its not about the products and their prices. Paint correction is all about knowledge and technique your'e using. Better products and machines make the job faster and more efficient but for the average user just use what you got, I think its more worthy to invest in good lighting to inspect your work and protection for your paint after polishing.

    Many moons ago I had a black c5 and it was full of swirls and spiderwebs. Every time I washed it I just applied polish after drying it and rubbed it in in straight lines never circles. Without paying attention one day I just noticed that the car had turned into a mirror. Not a single line to be found. I don’t know the clear coat they use on corvettes but it was pretty crazy how shiny it turned out.

    Hello Brian, thanks for another video, love them all! I'm so glad you mentioned/hinted on how much real time it takes to do all that work. With past videos you would mention, "we can go around the car relatively quickly", made me think I'm doing something wrong! In that it takes me 3 full 10-12 hour days by my self to even do a full correction (from wash/clean inside and out) let alone additional protections/ceramic install, etc (weekend warrior). In fact that is a question I've been wanting to ask you, I now have 2 kids under 3 and 7 cars and I just do not have the time that is needed anymore to do the level of work I'd like to. What would your approach be if you only had a day here and there to upkeep the cars? My thinking would be paint prep the best you can and then lay down the LONGEST lasting protection I can, due to time limitations.. Or would you paint prep, and go with something like the turtle ice seal and shine and wash and re-apply every few months? My only concern is the "maintaince" you mention in the videos that ceramics need (or is using the matching ceramic shampoo/rejuvenator quick and enough?)

    Just starting out my home garage detailing business and this was perfect timing to see you doing the same car! Thanks! Customer asked how much for full interior and one step correction with a Tec-582 application. Doesn't want a coatimg right now. His C6 is in the same condition as the one you did. Doesn't need a ton of correction. I have the Euro pad but not the F6. I have 3D ACA510, 3D one & KC M3 micro cut. Do you think the 510 may be too aggressive? I'm wondering if the M3 would've done what you wanted if you went up one more level to a med. cut or heavy cut pad ...or used a wool on rotary. I'm in OH so also curious about what you'd charge for the wash, chem. decon. & clay & one step along with full interior detail, just to get me in the ball park. Doing the work is fine. What I struggle with is knowing how to set price without screwing myself. Would $300 be too low?

    How do you like the tire dressing?

    That Vette must have been made in a different plant the the ones I have had in my shop, as every GM black vehicle I have worked on has been butter soft cleat coat

    To polish, or finish, could you use 3d1 and a black pad?

    • @jdisdetermined
      @jdisdetermined Před 3 lety +2

      Many variables.. Clear hardness, defect severity and/or how well the cutting finished, etc.. Just do your test spots. Up your pad aggression one step at a time until you get the result you're after. If it's too much cut, which is unlikely using an application pad, switch to a fine finish polish.

      Really? You can’t use the same side all the way around the car. If you are using micro suede...swap out for new ones often. If using blocks such as these.. turn over to fresh side.
