    Just did the first 1000 km here in Poland. Yep great bike but......
    It has short gearing, 125 indicated (120 gps) you are at 7000 rpm with 8500 red line. I have already installed 15T front sprocket, that drops the rpm about 500.
    The fueling off idle is not great (thx euro whatever it is). Throttle cable adjustment helps, but a good tune is the real solution.
    At 178cm and 75 kgs, bike fits me like a glove. The front suspension is firm, all the way out on preload and still playing with the dampening. Rear I added just a few turns on the preload. I do like the suspension, it's does a very nice job.
    The exhaust is actually on the loud side, ok I guess I am old.
    Skid plate is paper thin.
    I changed oil at 300 km. When removing the skid plate, the lower frame rails(they really are like lower skid plate support tubes, not very substantial) spread by a few cm. I had to use a tie down strap to bring them in prior to reinstalling the skid plate.
    I got unlucky, my cluth lever came without the pivot bushing pressed in........got replacement under warranty.
    Love all the adjustments, gear shift lever, both hand levers, suspension........
    Mix riding computer shows 3.7/100, refueling math shows 4.0/100.
    Hope this helps someone.

    Great to see how much you're enjoying the bike, and the transition to ADV riding mate!
    Bit of a worry about those seat rubbers coming off already... that's always my main concern with a bike new to the market... what's the build quality? Only time will tell, I guess. Sadly, in this moronic "continual profit growth" world the only way to maintain that growth is to reduce quality, service etc.
    Hmmm... the people of Toowoomba seem to need a lesson on how to deal with their rubbish and not be rubbish people :(
    Great stuff mate!

    Great stuff....happy to see someone enjoying their new ride and developing a love for 'adventure' on two wheels; i have subbed to follow what you and the new MT get up to and i have finally made decision on my next bike...the 450 MT; just a quick question: did you have to buy the high seat or you just had to order it? i was under the impression the seat was an 'either or' arrangement with the dealer. Cheers

    • @outie555
      @outie555  Před 10 dny +1

      Thanks for the sub! I ordered the seat as an additional extra accessory. Now I have two seats. It comes with the low seat, and I've since picked up the tall seat as the accessories have been trickling in.

      @@outie555 thanks; i called the dealer not long after asking this; i have now officially become a 450MT owner! well, after sitting on the demo and having a ride Saturday morning that is; two weeks and it will be in the shed if i'm happy; yep, the high seat is an added cost; $200 but that's ok; the dealer said he has a high seat in stock as well as a good stock of the factory accessories that he ordered when he ordered the bikes; i think i will get the tall screen as well; good news is i will also have spare seat foam if i want to modify the seat sometime down the track; oh, and i will make sure to glue the seat base rubbers properly! • @outie555
      @outie555  Před 15 dny

      I would suggest getting used to the bike and starting off with just dirt roads at first. This will help you work on how the bike feels at speed. Hampton info centre has maps I hear so that might be a good start. There are heaps of gravel roads west off Toowoomba. The one in the end of that video is at 100 Leesons Rd, Charlton QLD 4350
      And I strongly suggest glueing in those rubber pads under the seat!

  • @warrenr4
    @warrenr4 Před 4 dny

    That crease in the seat would irritate me every time I walked up to the bike.
    If that happened in the first 500 miles, it’ll be interesting to see what’s dropped off after 5000 miles.

    • @outie555
      @outie555  Před 4 dny

      It's only because of the missing rubbers. If you glue them in you won't have this problem. If too late I have a 3d printed solution

    In your opinion what's the behavior of the moto in city traffic?

    • @outie555
      @outie555  Před 17 dny +2

      Slow speed needs a little getting used to, suggest the throttle slack needs to be tightened from factory. Makes a vast improvement but still a bit on/off at below 20km in 1st and 2nd. The engine runs cool so you won't cook in traffic jams. It's not too bad on fuel considering the bike is not as aerodynamic like a sport bike.
      Bikes easy to manoeuvre at slow speeds so it's good to go in city traffic but you'll need to do off-road adventuring as well on the weekends to justify such a mad beast of a bike. So be warned 😂

    Hi. Good video!. I have a KLR 2014 with the same power and weight than the 450MT. However since the engine of the KLR is 650cc, the KLR goes at less RPM than the 450MT @ the same speed. I wonder if it would be a real upgrade going from the KLR to the 450MT. Cheers.

    • @outie555
      @outie555  Před 15 dny +1

      I would say the 450mt will be much more exciting over the klr650 single. I hear the weight feels lower on the 450mt. But like anything it would be worthwhile test riding one to see how it compares for you

    I love your high tech navigation device when you've got a supposed high tech 5" TFT display which you can't use for Navigation. A bit of a big flop for the chinese in the tech department when Royal Enfield have Google maps interfacing on their new Himalayan on their round colour TFT display. Also not impressed they've used chinese brakes when other reputable manufacturers use Brembo & Bybre including Royal Enfield & new baby Triumph's. Again another failure is the chinese rubber while Triumph use Metzler Karoo Street which are a good quality tyre & Royal Enfield use Pirelli, although my Meteor has Ceat tyres which I've found to be a good all round tyre for city/ highway & off road-also no issues in the wet. I'm still running my original factory tyres with 16,500 km on my clock. Looks to me like you've upgraded the screen which is another cost. Id be interested to know your range from the huge 17.5 litre tank. I get 400+ ks from my 15 litre tank on my 350! This has also being a somewhat negative feedback that the economy is below par for a bike of this capacity. Actually I think the Triumph 1200cc Bonneville would be more economical. I think their's some work to do for their upgraded next gen model. Otherwise it was looking like a blinder in the lite middleweight segment. Sounds like you're having fun on it, which is the main thing..
