And his tour de france win on the mont ventoux
Wout won the sprint and the ITT, but MVDP didn’t even really participate in both stages, so that weren’t battles between them. That the Mont Ventoux stage isn’t included is self-explanatory (given that MVDP already abandoned the TdF).
If those were included, he should’ve included the Amstel Gold race and the Belgian road championship as well...
MDVP ride for win, and he lost the first sprint and the last ITT in san Benedetto.

After today I think we can all agree that WVA is the most complete rider of his generation.

Dont agree....Matieu is the most complete of the 2 .....first tour the france, one stage victory and 6 days yellow jersy...still the worldchampion cycle cross , top 10 of the world in mountainbike , winner of tour the flanders, Amstel gold race , strade bianche and so on....clearly he is the better on of the two.
@@pinzgauerbelgium Agree to disagree. I don't care about who is 'better'. Winning the Mont Ventoux, timetrial and sprint in Paris after 3 weeks of tdf. I have a lot of respect for MVDP but WVA is the most reliable allrounder at this moment.
@@justaguyonabike2055 I think MVDP is the most complete bike racer in the world, being one of the best in 3 different disciplines, WVA is by far the most complete road racer.
@@pinzgauerbelgium isnt hard to get yellow when u already know u only riding 1week of the tour and u dont need to care about ur stamina that was just disrespectfull and undeserved

I remember 4:52 when MVP was like 15min from head in TDF. I think it was his last day at the tour. I dont know why, i think he started too intense, and although the olympics were much important to him, it was sad to see him in his last stage at TDF almost 15min away from head.

stage 1 was a sprint... MVDP isnt a pure sprinter so it wasnt head to head and MVDP won a stage on the mountains and WVA won only after MVDP had retired from the race.
