THANK YOU! You explained everything in the way my brain needed! I struggled because everyone said "just multiply or divide by 1000." I followed those simple and straight forward instructions without arriving to the correct results. Had they not omitted the rest of the instructions then I would have already mastered this and moved on!!!

For the metoprolol practice question, there seems to have been an error:
It’s asking us to give 200,000mcg twice daily.
This is equivalent to 200mg twice daily.
We have 100mg tablets available. So we would give 2 tablets per dose. (which is what the question was asking).
This would mean that the patient would get 2 of the 100mg tablets for the first dose and 2 of the 100mg tablets for the second dose. (Totaling 400mg per day).

im confused (42.58) The order is for 200mg BID which means 200mg per dose twice a day so 2 tabs per dose. if its 1 tab per dose then the order would be 100mg BID. if the order was 100mg daily then 100mg total daily dose...100mg twice day its 200mg total daily dose not 50 mg each dose to total 100mg.

You may be surprised to hear that I DO NOT recommend trying to go from RN to MD.
Unfortunately you'll likely have to take all of the prerequisites just like any other premed student unless you go to a school that doesn't require it (there are none I can name off hand in the US).
I get a lot of requests and questions about going from RN to MD and I can tell you that it is not a shortcut or a "bridge" but instead actually MORE work and takes MORE time overall.
The short answer is that the risks of failure likely aren't worth trying to take any shortcuts.
If you are an RN now... finish your degree, take the prerequisites, (make sure you get an excellent GPA) and apply.
      Good luck!

i'm sorry, but this doesn't make sense. Why would the answer be 2 tablets? Wouldn't it be four because you are asking for 400 mg BID basically? so 4 tablets twice a day would equal to 800?
