i LOVE battle of the larynx. the emotion in her voice, and the lyrics. the lyrics are about someone who basically tries to be loud and intimidating but really says nothing, compared to someone who can say their words and get their point across calmly and respectfully. and i love the lyric “ ill wreck you if you chase me, but ill be silent till you cross the line “ because its so relatable to me. you make me feel like im smaller than you, so im gonna stay silent but when you cross the line ima fuckin wreck you. i just love it so much but i still respect your opinion ! 🤍🤍 and im gonna say my fav songs cuz why not (battle of the larynx, the contortionist, evil. leeches, and light shower, and tunnel vision. UGH i love them sm)

She's using the barking as a metaphor of someone trying to be loud, and their teeth not being sharp, so they aren't really doing anything. What they say doesn't affect her she's steady pacing.
Agreed :) , I relate to it also. 'Battle of the larynx' is one of the more underrated tracks

Void represents depression, self criticism, low self esteem, and overwhelming thoughts and emotions.

What they said is *TRUE* because those are symptoms associated/used to describe anxiety. For example the line “like a priest behind confession walls I judge myself” and “My eyes are staring at me, and they seem so damn unhappy” evidently reflect the traits of self criticism and low self-esteem. Either way I’m pretty sure the song is about mental health in general and not just exclusive to the idea you visualize of anxiety.
A soiree is a type of gathering or party the song is talking about becoming distracted from life by internal fantasies like a magical soiree and giving into the temptation. Battle of the Larynx is about people engaging in pointless arguments whith Melanie. She doesn't react causing them to look stupid in the end. The larynx is in your throat and you use it to yell which is how it connects.

I love battle of the larynx bc in the chorus, the way her voice is layered feels like all the different emotions coming out all at once in an outburst/tantrum, it feels so relieving like shouting and screaming at the ppl who did u wrong

After each song there is a transition that leads into the next song that’s what the endings were for also thanks for the Mel content.
No problem at all, but she really did her thing with those transitions and each one more unique than the next feeding into each song… like I LITERALLY had to CHECK if the next song was playing or it the current one was still going 😭
The end part of NYMPHOLOGY is a part called amulet she put it in NYMPHOLOGY cuz she couldn't make a full song out of it💎

I'll say that when I first listened to the album there were some songs that I didn't like but I went to her phx concert with my sister and hearing it live was soooooo good and now I've had the album on repeat for months and all the songs have grown on me so now I like all of them and know all the words lol
I have been watching live replays of her recently and when I tell you I want to go to one of those shows SO BAD now 😭😍, but yes, this album has definitely been a grower on me!

Battle of the Larynx (voice box) is one of my top favorite from the album. It has more of a Rock feel because of the drums and instrumental. It’s not as Pop sounding as her last albums. If you’re not into Rock at all then I can see why you don’t like it. Her sound changed with this album and I’m all here for it 😊

Battle of the larynx is not my number 1 but it’s my 4th fav and the reason I really like it because in the beginning poke me to battle I’ll jump on the Stale I’ll smile as you fall to you’re feet just hit so hard and also the other lyrics just hits a little hard because larynx means voice or you’re vocal cords so it’s like don’t you battle with my voice And I’ll wreck you if you chase me but I’ll be silent until you cross the line because I think that part repents I won’t speak up to you but if you cross the line I’ll speak up theirs so much more other stuff but thats the main thing

The thought is about dealing with an over loving narcissist who sarcastically calls you the Devil just because, you can see through their bullshit empower and stand up for physically and emotionally abusive. Toxic relationships and cutting off unhealthy relationships hold your head up high and move on. EVIL reflects violence against women, there is a saying that hopes your head will break like an egg to stop seeing your hypocrisy Melanie and the broken love Oliver tree 😊 💗

battle of the larynx definitely was a grower for me, i didnt like it at first but after a week i really liked it, it might have helped that i saw it live but it just became really catchy
"SPIDER WEB" is about how modern society is addicted to technology, specifically the internet, hence the the lyric "Spinning all your silk and using all of your 8 legs to build a web that will spread through the world" and "Bound to their addiction to it."

I enjoy it because it is somewhat empowering in the sense that it's like standing up for one's self like "Don't come for me! I will take it easy but don't cross my line" LOL. Although my faves are Womb, Nymphology, Spider Web and The Contortionist. Great review 😊

I watched it on my own time and I actually liked it, it took time for me to grow accustomed to her new style (aesthetic), but it's actually quite interesting and so many different elements in that music video overall, I would give it probably an 8/10

For me spider web is a skip. The reason is that the chorus doesn't match its majestic, instrumental buildup in the prechorus
But songs can still be good despite the contrast between the instrumentals in the pre chorus and the chorus, why would THA be something skip worthy🤨 it's your opinion sure but it can still be objectively wrong
