- Over the years, there have been a LOT of official announcements that never came to be. The parks get our hopes up and tear them down. These are the 10 additional moments, chosen by my Instagram followers and CZcams viewers, where we got played for fools.

If every enthusiast had a username like ElToroRyan, Airtime Thrills would be TwistedColossusChris.
And Coaster Studios would be Intimidator305Taylor and NitroSarah
I thought of Intimidator305Taylor but not NitroSarah! Let’s make this a trend! Mine is DC’sBatmanTheRideJames.
Or Skyrush Chris
@@triplej755 maybe Steel Vengeance Peter for Theme Park Crazy
I would be Zach’sZoomerZach
$900 million for a Ferris wheel?
I’m not paying that much for Ferris Wheel 1!
Its NYC its par for the course
Never knew that there was gonna be a Cedar Point sequel
Cedar Point 2 would’ve been a Michigan’s Adventure if it actually happened 🤣

“Supporting some good coasters but nothing that stands out”
Sky rider: so i’m a joke
Honestly I can get behind this as a series
Hey!! Im glad you mentioned Cedar Point 2. I wrote a paper about it a couple of years back. From my research, the Irish Hills amusement park was planned to have a dueling roller coaster rumored to be Gemini. After Irish Hills was canceled, Cedar Point tried again with Battle Creek, Michigan near a fort (Fort Custer).
Lots of his images in the Cedar Point 2 section are actually related to the Battle Creek iteration. (I grew up in Battle Creek, born right about the time Irish Hills was cancelled.) The plan wasn't to have it be *near* the fort--Fort Custer was being downsized in the mid-70s and the city was looking for ways to redevelop the land, so the proposed park would have been *on* the land the Army was moving out of. After it fell through, the land ended up being redeveloped--slowly--as an industrial park. The rumor in Battle Creek was always that they had everything set up and just ready to put signatures on paper, but then the city government pulled out of the deal because Kelloggs didn't want a theme park in town (presumably because it would have reduced their financial control over the city government).
@@rdfox76 I actually grew up near Fort Custer, I drove by Cedar Points property almost every single day
In an alternate timeline, we could have gotten Top Thrill 2 at Cedar Point 2
You truly have the most original concepts for your videos in the coaster community
We need a part 3 with all the CGA hypers.
I may mention the CGA expansion if I can't come up with another 10, but that was never officially announced. We just got a hold of the plan they submitted to the city
@@AirtimeThrills I was thinking more '90s or early '00s like Bevis and Butthead, the 300+ foot S&S air launch (that discovery special,) the various morgan, and the arrow one.
When I was a kid they were polling for theming showing models all the time, then they would either never get made or go somewhere else.
Redwood shores would be cool too. They did announce the shopping officially and had it in Levi's development plans the city was showing off.
Yeah! A part 3 needs to happen!
The Skyvue Observation Wheel in Vegas. Announced in 2011, the 300 million dollar project to build the 500ft wheel was scrapped a year later. All that remains are two large concrete support pillars. You can see them in the background during the Speed segment of your video.
Number 7 just sounds like some enthusiast running wild with their imagination without actually having any funds or understanding of how to launch such a project
Truly a man of the people
Great video! I enjoyed watching! I didnt know about a lot of these! Looks like you got 1,000 likes!
There's a theme park in Vietnam called Asia Park, and it made fools out of the guests. They brought in some roller coasters from the failed Freestyle Music Park. Two of them opened, but the other two, Slippery When Wet/Soak'd/Highway Boat and Maximum RPM/Round About/Paradise Fall were built, but they never opened to the public for unknown reasons. For Highway Boat, it was due to the fact that water-based suspended coasters are maintenance nightmares. For Paradise Fall, the mechanics for the Ferris Wheel lift hill were too complex. Both these rides were sold as scrap, and they brought in new ones from Intamin. The new Highway Boat has an elevator lift and no water features. The new Paradise Fall has a tire propelled launch instead of a Ferris Wheel lift hill.
Part of the Westcot California Adventure drama involved Disney's attempts to aquire Knott's in the 1990s. They basically choose a quick and cheap knockoff of Knott's themes in an attempt to sideline Knott's when the original family was looking to sell.
Nice content I watched all 3 back to back to back. Great spin on those fake news April Fools Day videos 👍🏽
How do you spend 450 MILLION dollars on something never built???? That’s crazy!
Great video 👍 thanks for including my suggestion 😁
So happy there's a part 2! Loved part 1! Looking forward to a part 3 too hopefully!~
Great video as always 🎉
WestCot was a real thing. I remember going to the preview center in the old Disneyland parking lot and even have a brochure from it still.
Great to see this video concept continued!
It’s mind boggling how much money they were pouring into that ferris wheel.
That South Dakota raptor just makes me sad. I live about 20 minutes away. There had been rumors of a coaster, but I wasn’t expecting much, maybe a wacky worm or dragon challenge, or nothing at all. I was in school when I saw that Water Water West was planning a raptor, and I literally started jumping up and down, because there is nothing like it around. Maybe there is still hope, but it isn’t looking good, and I haven’t seen or heard anything since.
Great Video, I bet a ton of these parks faced backlash for making false clams. Anyways, I have a video idea I think you should consider, how about "Coasters that are named like their models" by the numbers. I don't know how many there are, but El Loco, Xcelerator, and the countless boomerangs come to mind.
Your Cedar Point 2 portion actually is showing graphics for two different pitches. Originally, the plan was to build in Onsted on the land they owned until 2012. But many of the graphics you used were for a pitch after that for a 1978 opening in Battle Creek, MI in the Kalamazoo/Grand Rapids Metro Area. It would’ve been built adjacent to W.K. Kellogg Airport (now Battle Creek Executive Airport) and right next to the Fort Custer Military Base. This also fell through before the land was acquired but was aimed to open in 1978 and would’ve included a coaster similar to Gemini (with some rumors claiming Gemini was originally designed to be built there).
Great videos
Can you do the amusement park that was supposed to be placed on the Monrovia exit on I-70? It was supposed to be themed to Garfield and was actually a really cool sounding concept.
This is about to become a series a can tell
I think after part 3 it ends
@@AirtimeThrills dang it, I really love these episodes.
@@CarlileCoasters same!
Skyliner at Miracle Strip Pier Park.
A GCI wooden coaster that was promised for Panama City Beach, FL, but never fully came through due to the park's eviction from the land. The area now houses Swampy Jack's Wongo Adventure, and after talking with the owner, they said that there's absolutely no interest to build a larger, headlining roller coaster.
Disney has *so many* announced or planned giant projects, including entire parks, that never went anywhere--you could fill whole videos with it, and people have.
WestCOT was actually the successor to Long Beach Port Disney/DisneySea, which also sounded like a pretty ambitious project. I think the picture at 12:35 is actually of the Long Beach project. Parts of that ended up incorporated into Tokyo DisneySea, though to be fair the Tokyo park is probably more than what we would have gotten in Long Beach. And the "boardwalk" section sounds like Paradise/Pixar Pier at California Adventure.
I'm still waiting for my Wonderland Eurasia 🤣 Probably the biggest SBNO park ever built-ish
I almost added it here but the park actually opened for a while so it wasnt really a cancelled project
Love this series Chris, keep it up! I would love to see a segment on the El Toro plot of land going from Viper to potentially Superman than el toro which was almost called Unforgiven.
Unforgiven is such a good name for a coaster
I never knew that about Cedar Point 2 and CP was my home park growing up. Somewhat surprised they were trying to expand in the 1970s. Oil crisis hurt them along with alot of other parks.
You could make a whole video just on announce but never completed Disney projects. Disney America, Equatorial Africa for Epcot, Mary Poppins (tho that might be back), Western River Expedition, Hyperion wharf, the legendary years at pop century report, the indoor theater at main street usa, Reflections hotel, and the 2 additional hotels on the Monorail.
I love your Channel by the way. What about a video where you rank the best amusement parks chains addition by decade sort of like an all decade team for coasters.
This is an idea I can work with... I put it on my board
That’s Awsome to hear.
It might not be an “April fools”, but Geauga Lake still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
I’m going to go way back for two things that were supposed to happen here in New Jersey: expansion of Jungle Habitat to include an amusement park, and Vacationland USA, which was supposed to be built in the Hightstown area
What about The Wizard of Oz theme park in Kansas proposed in the 1990's that never came to be? I recommend that for part 3.
I know that vlog you did with eltoro Ryan was at great adventure. Which vlogs did you do with coaster studios and canobe coaster? I cant find them
Canobie coaster was valleyfair. Taylor was indiana beach which was never posted
@@AirtimeThrills Thanks!
Me: No new coasters to Coaster Enthusiast Haven
Hey here's a video idea for you - The top 10 least re-rideable coasters. The ones where after a ride or two even the most seasoned thoosie has to take a break. Think The original RMC raptors, X2, etc
For the next one you could mention the planned circus-themed launch coaster at Efteling.
Kentucky kingdom RMC raptor and mystery mine going to kings island where stunt coaster is now
The strat in Las Vegas promised A king Kong ride where riders sat in Kong while he scaled the building. It was later changed to no monkey and A drop down the side of the building that would cross the strip and then go back
For part 3 look up the Efteling launch coaster!
This videos makes me oiled up

12:42 that’s concept are for DisneySea sometime called Port Disney, a park planed for Port Beach California
Long Beach, CA. Disney actually owned the Queen Mary for a period of time, and the ship was meant to be part of that park.
3:00 Man that looks a lot like...hold on, is that Dinotopia? Did some quick searching and apparently another Paramount park is possibly in the works recently too (2020) in China that specifically lists DInotopia as a land.
I went on Speed the ride! Incredible. Send it to Six Flags America😂 they love hand me downs
0:46 efteling anounced a intamin multi dimention called circus balance with world first elements but it got canceled
Well, we already know part 3 is happening (which is great), so I might as well give you the idea of mentioning the 3rd Disneyland Paris that they habe been saying to build for decades.
I am not sure where to find the information, but I know at one time there was talk about a Disney Park in North Arkansas, just south of Branson...
Another video could cover Dragon Mountain at Marineland since it was never finished, or Marineland in general.
Dragon Mountain was never finished? Are you talking about the volcano?
@@AirtimeThrills everything about the theming
Speeds story gets even more interesting when you take into account that Adventuredome originally planned to buy it, and only opted out when S&S offered El Loco for cheaper than it would be to rennovate speed, not sure if you can find it online, but the parks lead ride engineer Joey Rukavina confirmed this last october at ACE's Viva Las Acers Event
that is super interesting
Elitches at one point was going to (during it big move to its location now) build a new area to have the Colorado State Fair, like how Ky Kingdom is set up. That became a hard no moving it from its South Colorado location after the events center was built less then 4 yrs earlier. Now rumer is Elitches may move again or be sold like it was to a chain like Six flags.
I feel sadness whenever I see an RMC Raptor. If Michigan's Adventure would get one of the lower-priced RMC Coasters, they could have a perfect One-two punch, but NAW UCE, Cedar Fair doesn't want to make cash. Funk on them for this. Enjoy getting blasted on Twitter for owning MI Adventure Cedar Fair Jabronis.
Darien Lake was on track to get a RMC wood/hybrid coaster called Lake Monster sometime in 2014. There was even evidence of it looking like it was set to take place. It was rumored to be similar to Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City. However, those plans would later be scrapped therefore never happening again due to Herchend selling off the park and SF acquiring the operating rights since EPR fully owns the park
Wild Escape, proposed for the Wheeling area in the mid-2000s
you should totally include the giant centerless ferris wheel in China that just... never opened
Looking forward to American Heartland being on a future episode of this
Thats cold but maybe true
Only time will tell. It’s gonna be built in the middle of nowhere
Already at 1000 likes 😂
I wonder if Skyrush's new restraints will give the ride the biggest rank rise you ever gotten
Wait, why was the artwork for Orlando Thrill Park just TRON?
One expensive ferris wheel.
How about the over hyped "What's in the shed?" when it was just a spruced up brake run.
4:10 that's The Wheel of Brisbane (in Australia) not the New York Wheel
I rode speed. It was awesome
UK wise The London Paramount is one of the reasons that im a bit cautious about Universal Studios London I want it to happen but its one of those I will believe it when its open. Building new parks in the UK is hard. I remember the Alton Towers thing. I think they were trying to get 2 hour lines for it but it ended up being about 40 minutes. The Nemesis reborn has been more effective. Its retracked and weve announced its open in some videos and will let the vloggers show it off to people as still good.
I’m still pissed NYC didn’t get that giant Ferris Wheel
I guess we're getting a part 3
Have you ever done a series of videos of the most improved roller coasters for the given year? Like most improved roller coasters 2023 Edition
Suggestion for Part 3: Animal Kingdom's Beastly Kingdom & its dragon-themed suspended coaster, rumored to be the inspiration for Islands of Adventure's Lost Continent and Dueling Dragons after people involved defected.
Beasly Kingdom is one area I would have love
With Disney's announcement of the approval for expansion of the Disneyland Resort, it is possible that they could revive one of the theme parks they originally planned for the resort's second park. When you think about it, the Toy Story parking lot (where the planned expansion of the resort is set to take place) is HUGE.
I sold the idea of adding a whole new park, but its certainly possible
I live in Battle Creek Michigan so a couple corrections: they were looking at two locations in Michigan, one in Irish hills, one in Battle Creek. The one in Battle Creek was highly favored by the city, which committed to invest a lot in infrastructure for the park and begun plans to do so. Then, for no known reasons Cedar Point backed out.
Not sure what happened in Irish hills tho
It was also suspected that Gemini would have been there or a clone of it
For part three a rumor that I think very few people know but I know because I lived near kings island is that originally fire hawk was supposed to be relocated to michigans adventure and after that fell through it was supposed to go Kentucky kingdom.
that's funny because I really thought Firehawk was going to KK. Turns out they were teasing Kentucky Flyer
Beastly Kingdom!
Great video, but the 2 coasters for Skyline Park are SBF Visa's, so "having the ambition" might be the wrong term.
Haha well i meant they planned a hyper so they have some ambition for that alone
Oh well that makes sense!
I wasn't sugarcoating in part 1 when I said, "Covid-19 is responsible for a great many projects never getting off the ground."
You missed California's Great America's 20-year master plan (which included a hyper coaster) in parts 1 & 2. Also there was the times Valley Fair trolled enthusiasts on social media with new roller coaster announcements.
I may talk about this if I run out of good ones for Pt 3, but the master plan was never officially announced I believe - I think that was just leaked out or found in public record
In Niagara Fall, NY they were going to build a Wizard of Oz theme park.
I dont think theme parks will ever be what they once where. Once upon a time going to a park was a annual summer thing for the whole family. Gas costs much less then. People just socialized more too. It was an exciting event for the family to rebound: the kids had off school and mom and dad had usually a week vacation off work. But today things are very different: gas costs a fortune, everything is more expensive overall, people are more lost in thier own world on phones and tablets then socializing. Families dont get together in general like they used to do. Add covid and just fear for safety overall and many just wanna chill at home. Thats why i love parks, a reminder of what once was the best part of the year: no school for almost 3 months and going on crazy coasters.
Top ten sequels of all time:
News to me, I didn't know any of this. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
5:26 that looks like if Schwarzkopf made a geurstlauer eurofighter
Kentucky Kingdom’s RMC Raptor is one of the roller coasters you might have missed from BOTH part one and two.
That one's technically not meant for this series since it was never announced
Six Flags Great America was scheduled to get a clone of Mr Freeze in 1998, but the fact that the first two (and Batman and Robin) were so unreliable in 1997 put the kibosh on it. Parks Pros did a video on it a few years ago czcams.com/video/K3FKSMpw40g/video.html
Aside from Thirteen’s marketing, everything else was cancelled projects. These instances do not make me look like a fool.
I knew from it being announced the London Resort was never going to be built, at least there’s JCBs on site for the potential Universal park.
i think it's almost confirmed happening from how they were phrasing things in the 6th form meetings as 'when we start construction' alongside their claim that this is the most positive local reception from any universal project
I honestly wish Voyage got the timberliners. Even though the PTC trains give Insane airtime.
I wish sfne had the dark knight. Also wonder if agaham holds sfne back. Never been able to confirm but I guess they can’t add a launch due to power issue? Maybe that’s a urban myth or true
I was wondering about that, they used to have an Arrow shuttle loop, but I'm sure the power demand was pretty low for that compared to a new age launch
@@AirtimeThrills saw a local CZcamsr just at sfne post that they were testing soil on the old. Goalith plot.
I'm like 631. Do it again!
What about universal studios Dubai?
If westcot got built, disney parks today would be completely different. As of now they are judt IP lands jumbled together
LIKE THE VIDEO PLEASE
FYI: The Grand Californian is not inside the park. It's bordering it closely but it's still separated by an admission gate.
Ok it may not be IN the park, but the park is right there when you leave which I thought counted
@@AirtimeThrills True. There is one hotel in the world that's in a theme park and that's the MiraCosta at DisneySea.
They could’ve brought me in to handle the endangered species of spider…I would have made sure it was extinct haha..unless it was one that wasn’t venomous towards humans
If it was venomous or bigger than a quarter, then the land can stay with the spider I dont want it anymore
At what point do the coasters at COTA count? 😅
Ohhh we are getting close
