I just discovered Jimmy Buffet a few weeks ago. Wow! It’s all I’ve listened to on constant repeat. This man writes the most incredible music. The imagery he creates and the feelings he invokes are amazing. Man, I was born in the wrong time. America in the 80s seemed like the absolute best!
Sweet baby he was our main man in the late 70s. He was awesome and always will be. Enjoy life that's what he would want for you. Selling your own ship and enjoying your gift of life.
Im a fedex courier who spends every single day listening to this man or marley. Ive been a fan of both for many years, and September blew me away early that Saturday morning with this mans death. Had no idea he was ill, and he wanted to live life to the fullest until his last breath and not worry folks. I wore one of my favorite Margaritaville shirts to work that day and told em, "send me home, but this shirt isnt coming off today." It was how i paid my respects.
Drinking this all in people…. WHAAAT an incredible perfectly Jimmy experience… nothing like this will happen again! Oh how we miss you JB and Corral Reefer Band family. You built us a slice of heaven! ❤
I remember watching this on VHS tape back in the 80s & was happy to find it here. My wife couldn't believe that was Timothy B. Schmit with short blond hair on bass. This was exactly half Jimmy's lifetime ago at age 38, and Timothy was the same age. Waking up yesterday & hearing Jimmy was gone just blew me away as I didn't know he was sick. I can't imagine a world without Jimmy Buffett in it, but here we are, and life goes on.
Not too long before he rejoined Eagles along with the original members other than the now late Randy Meisner & Don Felder. God he is so good & Jimmy was a gem in a coal mine!

Been a fan for 44 years since my first JB concert and I’ve seen and heard many and this IS his finest live concert ever IMO The band was super tight and flawless and JB’s delivery and pacing of this show is superb and when they pick up in the middle of We are the people our parents warned us about, he takes us on a whirlwind musical party and never lets up until the final note is played. If there is a heaven Jimmy is in it and I hope we all get to see him again doing his thing when it’s our time. This concert is a masterpiece start to finish.

Once I was lucky enough to have tix with a bunch of friends for a Buffett show on a Tuesday night in Orlando, my cuzzins gf begged off for the preceding Friday night Jimmy Buffett concert in St. Petersburg and I was in! Then I ended up going to key West for weekend before catching that Tuesday show with my buddies. Hell if a 4-5 days. My mouth was so dry 😂🤙 Love and miss you Bubba❤
Jimmy - my family and I are going to miss you. We first heard your music in 1984 and since then we've ski to it on fresh powder at A-Basin and Copper Mountain, and spent many a road trip singing Cheeseburger in Paradise, Changes in Latitude, Last Mango In Paris and Come Monday. As others have already said, your music is timeless and always puts a smile on my face and brings happy thoughts and memories to mind.
R.I.P., Jimmy. Saw him in concert four times, but this concert video....I used to watch it endlessly. At the time this came out, I was working at a video rental store, and whenever I worked, I grabbed this video and put in the VCR so the whole store could enjoy his music for a couple hours!
This was the real deal! Before the whole commercial "Parrot Head" nonsense started. I started listening to Jimmy when A1A came out. First time I saw him was in 1980 with just a conga & piano player in a room that only held maybe 1500 people. It was brilliant! Even met him getting on an elevator as were getting off. When the doors opened there he was! I was amazed at short he was & I'm only 5'7. He couldn't have been nicer, but the other band member sadly moved him along quickly. Next time was at one of his mega corporate "parrot head" outdoor shows during the late 90's. It was fun (I guess) but seemed very cheesy in comparison. Rest in Paradise Jimmy.

Jimmy will certainly be missed. He was my favorite musician ever since I first heard his album "Tuesdays, Thursdays amd Saturdays" on a family trip to the ocean for the first time. My father had bought it from Christmas Tree Shops and he turned me into such a massive Parrothead because of it that I named every cat in my adult life off of inspirations from Jimmy: Savannah Jane and Sara Delaney (named after his daughters), Captain Tobey (as a play on Captain Tony's Saloon which Jimmy mentions in "Last Mango in Paris"), Jolly Mon and Lage Nom Ai Nom Ai (songs of his).
Thank you for posting this. It brings back so many memories. By far my favorite JB concert I have ever been too. Don Johnson arrived in a miami dade police boat. Jimmy came out with a Parrot on his shoulder. The band trickled in most likely in the same traffic all of us were in. Jimmy's back stage was his boat. You could see "activities" on the boat from the seats. You can see results of the "activities when they come out for One Particular Harbor. Jimmy went behind the stage and played Boat Drinks for all the boat people. The songs seamed more important then in the later years. This was back before everything was an anthem. before the SALT SALT SALT..As I look at all these wonderful people in the audience I realize that like myself they are now in their 60.s and beyond. I wonder if you all share the same growing older but not up attitude I have. I am supposed to retire next year and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up! God bless any of you I have passed a joint to at a concert or traded Margarittas!!! Always "one human family"!
"Cheeseburger in Paradise" was on the original version of the VHS release of Jimmy Buffett: Live by the Bay in 1986, but it was removed on later VHS releases.👍
Thanks for posting, a lot of life has happened in between this concert and today but I'll never forget this concert, had the time of my life that night. I was at this concert, we were anchored in front and slightly to the left of the stage. We were already there when Don Johnson pulled in the boat (they used on Miami Vice that was supposed to belong to Custom's) up to and docked next to the barge that was being used as the stage. When it was over Don Johnson was so wasted he could barely make back onto the boat.
God Bless you, I pray the Blessed Mother and our Lord Jesus embraced you with open arms. You were a kind and loving spirit who made our lives better. The karma you put out made the world a better place to live in. Thanks old friend.
