- 20V MAX* 550 PSI CORDLESS POWER CLEANER - Ive had this sitting in my shop for a while and finally got around to testing this thing out. Although its not as powerful as a pressure washer, I am still impressed with the performance of this DeWalt Cordless Power Washer. The Reviews for this arent the best but i think that because people are expecting it to perform like a normal pressure washer... For what it is, i really like it! ENJOY!

This is the first video I watch where the guy actually took the time to use a regular car detailing foam canon and tried it with this dewalt tool. And then showed how efficient the foam rinsing was... This is gonna do it for me. Thank you.
I paid 200 bucks on Amazon came with 20v battery . What I use for my business out here in the Bay Area. People out here don’t like gas equipment.
I'm gonna wait for the hose-less water model. 😊
Dumb asf. Goodluck carrying 20lbs of water
UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust czcams.com/users/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.
This was a really important video for those of us who live in condos. I have a garage with power outlets but no water spigot. I have searched everywhere looking for a self priming system (suction from bucket). This seems to be the only one that is worth getting. Karcher k4 and k5 can do it but I don't like all of their proprietary connections and tools. Makita has a nice unit but it's not sold in the USA. I even emailed them asking about it and they don't know if/when it might be coming. Thanks for the video! I might end up getting one.
Got 1 for that specific reason and it's awesome.
@@fernandodelarosa7988 what tools or accessories did u buy with it?
I agree. Worx has one but no thx. I’ll get the dewalt
You can't expect a lot from a battery powered pressure washer, but this is surprisingly efficient, Thanks
14:24 This is what I should have watched 1,5 year ago, thank you! Changing the orifice of my cordless power washer would have saved me from so much
For washing the car/boat/4x4/ track loader, dump truck, and tools fully portable, perfect
Awesome video, its really nice that you have tested out the pre included soap dispenser. I laughed hard when its squirts runny soapy water way instead of foam 😂
The wand extension creates the restriction and helps to maintain higher pressures, by adding the foam cannon directly to the handle youve lost all your pressure to create foam
I bought the foam cannon but the connection piece it has does not fit into the desalt end like yours does?? It came with this black pice on it. Wtf
Best video I've seen to date on this machine. It definitely has its place. Soap bottle is great for applications where you don't necessarily want foam.
it’s not a soap bottle it’s supposed to foam.
@@tehMaloWalo There's times I don't want foam. If you think outside the box (you can do it) you'll see there's applications besides using it to wash your car. I know 'cause I've done it several times.
@@APrawks i understand that. i’m just saying, this is supposed to make more foam not dispense soap. the foam cannon on this machine sucks to make foam but sure it can spread soap. you could also just put soap in the water source and skip the foam cannon attachment as it’s meant to make foam not spread soap lol
@@tehMaloWalo Needs more pressure to make foam and you're just not going to get it from this machine. You'll never ever see me run any cleaner through any machine. I use simple green to spray on my porch then use Ryobi scrubbers. Great for rinsing vehicles from a bucket of filtered water. I use it for all kinds of things.
@@APrawks i get plenty of foam out of my cordless kobalt washer @ 600psi. the foam cannon attachment just sucks
One of those metal clips you get a office max or Walmart for thick papers zip tied to the hose works perfect
Just found your great channel - you give very clear presentations!
I just got the DeWalt 20v with the intention of using it to clean road grime off our cars in the winter when above freezing, and keep the washing mess and ice away from the front of the garage. I thought it worked great even with the 550psi pressure. Two pre-rinses took virtually all the dirt off (but the car does have ceramic coats). My only issue is that the soap bottle barely worked. Soap dribbled out just a couple of feet, and thought something was wrong with it until I tried a soap bottle from my larger pressure washer and it did the same thing. I’m going to get a smaller orifice for my Adam’s foam cannon and try that next even though the cannon shouldn’t be used with less than 850 psi.
Was hoping to find a cordless pressure washer with portable water tank in lower 1000 psi range, but nothing affordable really exists yet. You covered the cordless dual 20v Ryobi in a different review, but pointed out the flabby/leaky plastic water bag that has to be held above the unit to work. For that expensive unit they could have done better than an afterthought on how to supply water to it.
Thanks for saving me the trouble of ever buying one of those.
Hey thanks Josh for always bringing cool & honest product reviews, keep the videos coming 👍👌👏✌️👍👍👍💯
Great video on the purpose of this item. I bought a Worx version a couple of years because it was the only one avail at that time (would have loved to go a Dewalt, because I already have several of they batteries). I already have a high pressure washer, but bought one of these “power washers” for the sole purpose to final rinse car with distilled water. Much less to zero water spots (even if you just let it sit to dry, which I don’t normally do). I modified a plastic back pack type 5 gallon weed sprayer and hook my worx up to it and fill 2-3 gallons of distilled water for my 911 or 3-4 gallons for my MDX and Tacoma or wife’s Infiniti SUV. Looks like all the major companies make these now. Also a Great option for someone who may not have a water source (live in an apartment complex, or something?). Not as much power as the pressure washers, but good enough. I’m surprised that details go to such great depths on how to avoid water spots, but no one ever mentions this type of rinsing technique, but works great for me. Thanks for the video!!
Worx has a model that uses 2 batteries @ 750 psi
Using a backpack tank is a genius move. Probably not enough of a market for it, but someone should come up with a battery powered backpack pressure washer with tank that can run on the larger 40v or 60v batteries for more power and pressure. That would put all of the bulk/weight on your back and make the hand held portion much smaller and easier to use. This would be great not only for cars but also pressure washing anywhere.
This is the best video of this I wasn’t thinking about ever buying one from any video ive seen but after this one it doesnt look bad at all if I catch a deal on one might check it out for myself. Ive got plenty of batteries 20 and 60v
Yea if you’re already on the dewalt ecosystem ( like me ha) then it’s a great tool to add in to the mix
I bought a greenworks cordless pressure washer, it’s 70 bar and has the bucket of water on top of the unit it’s the best cordless washer on the market, I’ve yet to see a more powerful one than that and I use it regularly!
Amazing and super helpful, thanks for sharing!
is that a foam cannon pro v2.0 with 1/4 quick connector adapter? I will buy a mjjc foam cannon but I don't know what type of nozzle that fits on my cordless dewalt. can you please tell me what did you used on your video. thanks
Ideal for the boat. Way cheaper than a wash down pump and plumbing not to mention it doesn’t draw power from the house batteries.
after ( I purchased about 3 years ago) the WORX now they want to all come with their model, wish they all had a universal battery
Check if Amazon has a battery adapter. I've seen them before so you can use different batteries from different manufacturers.
I have the 600 psi Ryobi EZClean, It works great to 'pressure' wash cars but it sucks at foaming, I've converted mine to quick connect and even with a MJJC it struggle to make foam. I think this is due to the flow rate maxing out at 0.7 GPM. I've tried a number of different orifices (0.8 > 1.25) but nothing helps.
To keep the hose down in the bucket, I use a small master lock hanging on the end so it can stay down in the water. Honestly this thing is awesome for washing your motorcycle. Especially if you live an apartment complex like myself and no access to a garden hose. But you are correct the factory hose on this thing suck ass and starts bending immediately. I washed my bike and entire car with this thing. The factory soap dispenser suck ass too!!!!!
Hi there, the 15.3 - 16 min mark you mention another washer from amazon that you prefer. tried to find that video but could not. Could you let me know which model/product you reference. Also I have a car wrapped in PPI, what are your recommendation for washers?
Looks like a good option. What someone really needs to do is create a backpack pressure washer unit that works on larger voltage batteries like electric mowers use for more PSI and GPM, and include a water tank so you have everything on your back for convenience and make the hand held portion lighter. You may look like a wannabe ghost buster, but you'll be able to wash your car or pressure wash anything anywhere.
If you get the gumption to build this product and it's a success, I'll just ask for a 5% idea fee cut. :)

yo my dude. would this tool be good to rinse off caked dirt cars before using ONR bucket method?
Would it be more powerful if you connect it straight tap
Great video!!! How many(average) gallons of water would one need to wash a car if using the bucket method ??
A curved attachment to get the wheel wells would be great too. I love Dewalt stuff, I have a bunch, but...I'd go $39.99 on it, at $120, I'll just use my hose!
How do you compare this with the ryobi handheld and any other bucket capable power cleaners
Hi @imjoshv can this priming hose be used with any other corded electric pressure washer and use bucket water as a source? Does it damage the water pump of the pressure washer as there will not be enough water pressure coming from the bucket?
Imagine it would work a little better with the added pressure from the hose.
U know anything about Maxipact 1080 40v 2.4gpm cordless power washers or Teande, Aihand, Homdox,Avhrit, Bergwerk, are any good on Amazon. An can cordless 40v 1080psi 2.4gpm possible an what's bar mean
I want to use distilled water for rinse to get less water spots. Do you think this would work well for that?
Try using de ionized water if you want the purest source.
You can figure out the gpm. Measure the weight of water being sprayed in a bucket against a timer running for a minute. Water is about 8.34 pounds a gallon
For those resisting metric because (who really knows) 1 litre of water weighs 1 kilogram. Unbelievably difficult to grasp. Water freezes at 0c and boils at 100c. If you were building a subwoofer cabinet in a spare tire well or behind a wheel arch and needed to figure out the volume of the cabinet, it would be quite easy using water to find the volume in litres instead of your cubic inches or feet. And then there's your lovely fractions. What's the point of those? Metric? Oh yeah, there's the point.😁
Are you suppose to squeeze the ball at the end to fill the hose with water like a pipette ?
Great review, thinking about starting a mobile car service and want to travel light, this seem like a great tool to add to my collection, I'm just curious on the second tool you mentioned that you're going to review
Great review, thanks for the info
OMG, if they made a single battery 40V. Dewalt or Makita I'd be all over it, just saw some random brand that ran on 40V, but it takes two batteries. . .
Very cool though for weekly beach trips as it is though.
This would be ideal if you trailer your boat to the ocean and want to rinse off your brakes after launching and loading. I currently use a pump sprayer but kind of a pain to have to pump for pressure.
I curious if hooking it up to a garden hose might boost the pressure a little bit since it would not be using so much of it's power pulling the water in.
Probably just a tiny bit maybe around 50-100 more PSI.
I did some pressure tests today.
Bucket pull with yellow tip was 500 psi. With the hose it was about 550 psi as they advertise.
All the tips except yellow were 400 psi both bucket and hose.
Well explained review! I will buy this unit today, on sale for 190 CAD
peefect for those with a ceramic coating !!!
What soap ratio did u use in ur foam cannon I have the exact same setup but I didn’t get foam like you did in the video
Loved the way you shook the Bottle while trying to make it foam better... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 .. please get THICKER DAMN IT... Face was priceless.. I ordered the same set up with mjjc foam canon. Perfect for me in nyc apt garage.. Great vid!
high mode is very good.
Hi! I have a similar cordless pressure washer and a foam cannon with a 1.1 mm orifice, however, I always get the "foam" as in minute 16:34, more like wet soap even with the foam cannon. I wonder what change you made between minute 16:34 and minute 16:45 that you got so much foam as I just cant get my setup to work like that... thanks!!
That is kinda cool, would using a garden hose directly to the unit make any difference? Great video 👍😁
it did with the ryobi so i would assume it would add a bit more power
Can you test out the new 60v 1000psi version and give us your opinion?
Hello what is the best on te moment please 🙏 thank you
You probably figured out by now that the handle on the bucket slides very nicely over the hose to keep it in place. No vice grip needed. Sometimes simple is best.
I am curios what kind / brand of epoxy did you put in your garage
If the low setting had the pressure of the high setting and then high had even more it would be more worth it
Any thoughts on whether this could work with a Trex deck that’s in good shape, just grime through the season.
It will handle it no problem. I had aphid poop all over my trailer, sprayed some super clean, let it sit a few minutes and it cleaned off perfectly. If I were to keep up with the cleaning I wouldn't need the cleaner.
@@APrawks Thank you
9:30 I’m thinking that you are supposed to spool the hose in the bottom of the bucket with the ball shape part in the bucket also to hold it in there 🤷♂️. Or maybe it’s designed to be in a water source deeper than just a 5 gallon bucket because 5 gallons isn’t a lot. Maybe one of those water tanks on a trailer?
Those soap bottle attachments are called soap dispensers and not foam cannons for a reason😅
Could anyone who has this power washer tell me which is the most powerful nozzle? I want the washer to strip paint off of an old building that I painted at least 20 years ago and not sure which nozzle I should use to do that. I probably shouldn't be using it at all actually but I don't think it will get done if I don't personally do it. I actually just bought this washer about a week ago and am having trouble with using it because of a problem I have with my arms. I guess I thought it had a little gadget on it like my Dewalt backpack sprayer does so that I don't have to keep holding down the trigger. I'm not young and it about kills my arms having to do that. I'm afraid if I get a gas operated sprayer that I might accidentally ruin it. I'm not good at trying to figure out directions and the one that comes with this power washer does not impress me.
I find this would be perfect for car shows
How is that foam cannon even working? Isn’t that thing rated for like a 1300-3000 ish? That’s crazy tho
Get the the new 945 psi hydroshot ! If that Ryobi can do such a great job, can you imagine what you can do with that 945 psi 1.00 gpm monster?
If the foam cannon says it works with 1,300 and 2,200 psi, do you think it can work with a 550 psi one? 🤔🤔
The one is used in this video suggest 1300 at the least, and still worked with this washer, I just bought both gonna see what happens
My filter housing cracked in 1st hour of use (bad design of this part) told 2 weeks to get part
Can you try the worx hydroshot ultra? That one is rated for 725psi, curious how that performs;)
Does this power cleaner work with the uberflex hose?
Hi @IMJOSHV I love the idea of of having a portable washer, for light work. In the market to buy one. Would you recommend the Dewalt or Ryobi RY121850VNM? Looking forward to your feed back.
Rerun after 1 day test out this tool.
Its convenient to where you can get water
By the time you assemble this Ginormous heavy tool you could have washed the car dried it and been ready to coat it. Personally I would not waste my money on any of these type tools. The foam cannon and a real pressure washer is the way to go
hose upgrade for dewalt cordless power washer?
Can this handle daily dust removal from windows without using any soup?
Would you recommend Dewalt 2100 psi job site electric washer (stackable) or this one for car washing purpose ?
Very helpful info. Thanks guy!
Can the hose be upgraded to a 50 ft hose ?
Josh you think you can run this tool with ONR mixed in the bucket for a rinse less wash?
How many buckets of water did you use to wash the car?
Could you use an impact drive instead of a drill?
Or would it damage the surface your cleaning on.
I want what ur smoking bro 💀
Cleaning solar panels would be nice !
Thanks for the thorough review.
Is the foam cannon's minimum pressure enough for a cordless high pressure washer?
Yep I bought and Sent it straight back not up to the job wouldn't suck up from bucket snap on connections really dreadful water was coming out of bodywork this couldn't knock its way out of a wet paper bag. I have a range of the Dewalt large batterie tools all excellent. This was most disappointing as I needed an off site washer.
After buying this and trying it out, I just don’t feel like it’s worth it. 550 PSI isn’t a lot, and also it’s heavy on the arms.
What is the point if you have to go over the car with a sponge or rag ? You can get the same results with a bucket of soapy water and a garden hose with a sprayer 😢
I love ur videos. I just found you. I have a matte suv [genesis gv70]. I had no idea I wouldn’t be able to go to a car wash before I bought it. I live in an apt without access to a water line. What would be a budget friendly combination of a pressure washer & foamer?
This would be good for using distilled water to rinse
Hi Josh, I like the tennis ball color bucket in this video. Would you please message me details on what it is and/or where to find it? I didn't see it listed in the video description.
What about this Power cleaner vs the Worx hydroshot ? Thanks in advance
Hello good video. Please what is the brand to your botter soap?
Great video! Have you tried, or will you be trying, the Kobalt pressure cleaner?
Great video! Might consider getting one of these. Random question also, where did you get your Apple watch band? lol
Great vid!
Is this much better than just using a hose?
Nice! Thanks Josh
Question can you hook any foam cannon to the dewalt power washer or simply the foam cannon your using.
Any foam cannon. It's just a standard quick connect like any turbo nozzle would have.
Thanks for the info!
Did you ever do the review of the cheaper version you referenced in this video?
How does the DeWalt compare to the Ryobi 600psi?
great video......although I would never even consider buying it but if you live in a condo good option
Exactly! Not for the professional detailer, but it a cool tool and nice for around the house
Can you also try the Kobalt 40v cordless power washer from Lowes? Seems fairly priced. I’m in the market for one and wondering how good it is. Considering Worx Hydroshot as well.
Kobalt is a 40v platform at 600psi. I would expect more power from 40v. I think Ryobi has 40v that pushes 1100psi? but it looks more like a traditional pressure washer. The Worx on the other hand has many versions of their power washers. one that uses a single 20v battery and 2 that use 2 20v batteries and interestingly one runs at 750psi. That was their latest version of a power washer.
How many gallons of water did you use on the entire vehicle?
Looks kool
