- TEAM TALK: THE INDUSTRY SCREWED US ALL!!! (FIGHT BACK!!!)
Many of you are starting to feel this now and it needs to be addressed. We all know what happened in 2020 and what it caused to the supply chain and the prices of boats. SKY HIGH!!! Now these same companies that y'all supported through it are slashing, not gutting prices of their new boats. What does that mean? Y'all paid those crazy high prices...100k, 110k even 120k and now the 2024 models of those rigs are now back in the 80k-90k range. That means your 2022 rig that you paid 100k for is now worth 60k!!!! Yikes! Hope y'all didn't finance that puppy for 15 years. Let the industry know that they need to SLOWLY lower the prices not gut them and cause a mini financial crash within the industy. What does BOAT stand for??? Bankruptcy On A Trailer! Comment below if you or if you know someone who's going to be affected by this.

I'll repower before I buy a new $100k bass boat
Im so glad my old 2000 Stratos is in great shape, and I was just able to repower with a new SHO.
The new boat market is such a racket nowadays
I am an RV dealer dealing with exactly the same thing and situations that you mentioned in this video!!! I agree 100 percent
I just picked up a 1 owner like new Stratos 95 garage kept for 5000 I’m in love with this boat.
We appreciate you and your team also . Great job guys !!
Love watching the new videos every Friday at noon here in TX Guys, keep up the Great work. I'm still rocking the 1999 Charger 395TF Firefox with the 225 Yamaha VMAX 3.1 OX66. $26,999.99 off the Show Room Floor. Solid as a Rock!!
Thanks for all the great real content! 👊 I continue to love my 1998 Ranger 518DVS 😁 built like a tank
So happy I have my paid off 03 Champion 196 DCX elite, 200 ox66, with 3 HDS lives, AT2, Ghost, etc. run it until the motor goes then get a new SHO. New boats are nice to look at, but hard to justify it.
With you 100%. I got a cherry refurbished 02 188 Elite in January. I added a couple of graphs and I'm good to go. The ox66 runs great and it's a Champ. Turns heads at the ramp. Like yours she's a runner.
Not buying a boat anytime soon!!! Wanted to sell my Triton 189trx and get a tin boat but tins are 28k with no options or more when they were 19k in 2020!
"Team Marine Mafia" would be a pretty cool hoodie design.
Love your videos. Currently in the market looking for a used boat. Thanks for all the info
Great info. Thanks guys.
We need a team marine mafia shirt
I call the lacrosse boys the lacrosse mafia especially Mike bruggan and the boys 😅
No we don’t
@@marksalotsalot Marks not invited into the club! Haha
That's a new Tee shirt !
"Team Marine Mafia"
I'll buy them
Great idea! I’m in! I’ll buy them!
Bass Pro shops getting their hands on Cabela’s and Ranger boat manufacturing was the worst thing ever. Ranger getting their hands on Stratos and Triton was terrible for boat buyers too.
Same with legend boats
I bought mine in 2021 . It was a year old Z19 Nitro . Been really good so far . Best part about it . I got 4% interest. So I will be sticking with what I have for a while.
Make aluminum boat reasonably again
I bought my Nitro Z19 just as Covid was beginning. Paid around 46 for it, with dual axle trailer and 200 Merc. Looked at the very same earlier this year and it was around 60 with a single axle.
Great information! Thank you.
I'm in the hunt for a tin, so ya, interested in the drop.
I’ve been fishing in a 99 Charger with an 86 BlackMax just dreaming of the day prices would come down and make bass fishing affordable again.
1974 Boston whaler 21 revenge. 2023 150 Yamaha . It's the 4th repower from a 125 Johnson to a 225 Evinrude to a 200 Mariner and now a Yamaha 150. Nothing better.
Y’all should make a video talking about some of the newer 4 strokes “making oil”. Gas getting in the oil, seems lots of people are having issues with this on the forums.
Last year I bought my first new boat, went with my second choice which was a mistake. I chose the one I did cause of the wait time. It was also my first mercury outboard. I got my boat with a mercury 150 pro XS, 10 months later the engine locked up on me. Not saying it's a bad engine, but for this being my first 4 stroke I was disappointed. As of now I've been waiting 2 months for my warranty engine.
This is exactly why Im running a 95 Gambler.
Do I want newer? Obviously, yet mine is paid for, and I don't mind turning a wrench, or buffing now and then....
Basically its whatever the market will bare. Most folks are only worried about the monthly payments. If the dealer can get the monthly were they want it, the 15 years and 100-k doesn't matter!!
Everything will go down watch. Here in about 6 months things will start to change for the better
keep smoking that crack.
My 1 year old 24' bay boat was totaled by a tornado that came over in April 2020. Right when the dealers lots were getting emptied. I called 3 dealerships about ordering the exact boat as my 2019 boat I had that cost $72k out the door. The cheapest was $140k with a 7 month build date. But, he said the manufacture was having a 8% price increase in a month and probably another 8% increase before my hull would go into production. I asked, are you telling me we make a deal on a $140k boat, by the time my boat is ready it will cost 16% more. "Yes". We will call you a week prior to your hull going in the mold, give you the market adjusted price and see if you still want the allocation.
The other 2 dealers gave me a price of $150k and $153k with a quicker build dates, add the first 8% increase and possibly the second 8% increase, but I would get the boat faster.
No thanks! I went a couple years without a boat until I found a new 22' bay boat (same manufacture) on a lot a few States away for a reasonable price. I just traded it on a new 2024 24' bay boat and got almost what I paid for the 22' boat as trade. With the new 24' tens-of-thousands cheaper than if I had ordered one in 2020.
that's fucking insane!
That’s crazy!!
I’m sitting here eating the popcorn waiting on the aluminum boat video wondering if it’s the same brand I have with the same issue.
Im picking up a new 2022 Avid 18xb with a 90hp SHO and a 80lb fourtrax for $26,499 tomorrow. I feel like that is a really good deal.
Bought a loaded 721 with a 250 sho. Poles and all before covid 62k out the door 3.2% interest. pre 2020. I could t imagine buying one now!
Same thing is happening in the RV industry. People upside down in payments, and in 10 years you have an old boat and still paying new boat payments.
Im big in the inflatable boat market. The economy is shit. Sales are hit or miss. It just is what it is. People spent big because they were getting quote unquote free money and banks were glad to take it. A lot of companies took a shot and they are now losing thinking the bubble would never burst. Which leaves dealers and Consumers S.O.L.
Definitely need team marine mafia shirts. Also need another long uncut shop video! Love the content
Coming soon!
I went to a dealer to check out new units, Phoenix and G3 in particular. Currently, I’d sit tight yet. What Andy states is factual. The quality control on these particular units was, shall we say, lacking? Carpet that looked like it was cut with teeth. Tel decking that wasn’t trimmed right. The fit and finish was horrendous. Still priced in the 60’s for the units I saw. There’s no way in hell I’d shell out that kind of jack for what I saw! Sit tight folks! Andy is on to something, and he’s correct!
You could give this exact same speech about the housing industry. Will be/is the exact same issue. Resell on homes is a longer period than boats but this will be the issue. People overpaid for houses by 70%-80%+.
Went by Ranger this afternoon, maybe 35 - 40 boats in the lot, Bass Cat about the same, Triton CLOSED! Weeds growing in the parking lot. Haven't gone by Vexus yet, it's a little out of the way. A Dealer in Mt. Home, Ar. has 2 Skeeters, 1 a FX21 single consul = $105,000 Plus tx. the other is a FX19 also single consul - $87, 000. Both would need upgraded electronics (IMO) At these prices, my old 98' ZX202 upgrade I just finished makes a lot of since. The hull is in excellent condition for a boat of it's age, the top cap has one small stress crack by the driver's consul, I did rub out the top cap to bring it back to "new". The upgrades I did were a new Suzuki 200, new M.K. T.M. (112-36 volt), new Humminbird 15" on the bow & 12" at the consul, New Pro Guide Lithium batteries & charger, re-did the seats, new but seat and rear seat. Now that's it's to hot for 2 old men to go out during the day, we're rewiring the entire boat. I'll be into her around 40K by the time I'm done with this part. The last storm we had took out my "boat port" so carpet and new wind screens will have to wait till next year. Once We're finished she'll be "like new" and a heck of a lot less than a new 20' dule consul ZX Skeeter. I figure my Grandson will be able to run her for another 10(?) years.
Keep up the good work man.
Keep up the great videos.
This is the exact reason im holding out on buying a boat. There gonna get desperate and then you'll practically steal them boat for pennies on the dollar. This was the exact thing what happened to diesel trucks back during the late 2000s where dealers were practically giving them away
I'll be in the market next year. This may be good news for potential buyers.
The sad thing is it just wasn't the boat industry it was also campers, vehicles and housing industries that screwed everybody that bought during covid.
Love the video as well as the tee's
I remember when u could get 20 -21 foot boat with 225 for like 40 grand brand new
Sounds like some new merch coming ,team marine mafia tee shirts and hoodies hell yea get er done Jordon!!!😈😈😈😈😈
Y'all are awesome great info. I bought a 2020 trx 18'10" for 34 and put a brand 175mercury four stroke. The boat had only 12hours on the motor and boat 150 motor I upgrade to a175 and I got 10 in the boat and motor with me trading and selling my existing boats. God is good ..I got a brand new boat and motor with a 5year warranty on new motorand can upgrade warranty with 2more years for 1500 hundred .would add another 2years for 1,500hundred.on motor.
Will never have to worry about any of these when you buy an Allison
Get one or follow one
Random comment: there is a dealer in my area that has sold two of those electric "Evinrude" motor pontoon things you did a vid on a while back. They were as hideous as you think they would be! Those sales people should get a raise for selling them😁
Same problem people who drive new Stellantis products are having right now. Stellantis is still building new cars at an unbelievable rate even though the market has slowed down. This is causing new prices to drop and used prices are tanking. I feel for the Jeep Gladiator guy that still owes 50+k for a truck that's low 30k right now at best. They have over 700 days of inventory for RAM 2500 so if you're in the market now is time to buy.
I have decided I’ll keep my Carolina skiff I paid 32000 in 2016 and it’s pretty much same boat and is now 60k I’ll put a new power plant on it when needed and keep it moving. They have lost their minds for a stripped down fiberglass bath tub 60k
Hi Andy I have one question about mercury
Do you think they can pull themselves back up and I know it’s not related to this video, but I watched your last video and I was quite concerned. and I love your vids by the way
I just finished repowering my 2005 Champion 198 Elite. I could have chosen to buy new, but I'm not spending the money they want for a depreciable item such as a boat that I can't even use year round.
There are some 90 model boats our there that have been building kept, repower, upgrade tm's and electronics, still be half vs new even with the discounts. Used market is going to change too, big time.
Just bought a Skeeter 21 foot FXR for $76K. Traded my Ranger in for it. That same boat was $100K this time last year. It’s insane how upside down some people probably are. Good to see prices dropped FINALLY but feel bad for those people.
That was a new 2024 for 76k?
@@stephenritter586 yep, like Andy said in the video they’re running discounts and rebates now. Back a couple of months ago skeeter gave dealers 25K in rebates! I bet a lot of dealers do it again towards the end of the year to get rid of inventory.
2017 Bass Cat Caracal. With a soccer playing teenager, I'm holding onto her for a couple of more years.
Should I be worried about my mercury 150 2023 I have paint peeling on lower unit
I never comment..but..big fan so keep pushing
We appreciate you hammer!
Any advice on the best way to find this excess inventory that's laying around?
Wish you guys were closer, the closest marine shop to me sells lawnmowers.
Time to start kayak fishing Native Watercraft Titan x 12.5 , you can get motors garmin 73 sv etc Ita s ball bass fishing . No storage no trailer low maintenance., with a bed extender one can carry it in the truck bed. I am not a salesman for titan just 75 year old male that cannot wait for a boat, hell i am not guaranteed tomorrow, Amen
this is makeing tiny boat nation grow like wildfire
m.b.f.g.a make bass fishing fun again. hasn't been fun at the cost to compete. I've been going round and round with Garmin over a bad ffs transducer and they act like 3000 isn't a lot to pay for a unit that doesn't work.
I delt with Garmin on a cheap transducer for a Stryker 4, and same basically saying same as your deal. Overpriced junk now days from all manufacturers!
@@DanielThomason1 terrible customer service
Ben Miliken did a video about private equity groups taking over the fishing industry and I personally think he nailed it. I believe it is another big piece as to why this sport is so expensive. Even if you don’t tournament fish it’s still stupid expensive to participate in this sport.
@@ogles824 so true
@ogles824 yra I agree I think everyone should watch the video
The same thing is happening in the automotive industry..
It’s called corporate greed!
How about Hall warranties? Hall warranty is only good for the original buyer. The original buyer then has to pass it on to the secondhand person and so forth and so forth which a lot of people really don’t know about the Hall warranty deal
Ok, the guy from Michigan that bought the brand new Triton for 35k. Message me if they have another one and where you bought it at. I’m from Michigan and been looking for a deal on a new boat lol.
My next boat will be a custom welded. AAD boat
Bought a 1995 Sea Nymph 17ft for 5k. Sold that and bought a 2000 Lowe 20ft Pontoon for 9k this year that does everything I want. May not look that pretty but gets the job done. If you financed any leisure boat, I feel sorry for you 😂
Where’s the E TEC hat I sent you.
Did it blow up already.
I think the older boats are built better than new boats.
My boats is a 2022 it was the best boat. As an offshore 4.5m boat. It’s not about having clean welds they built them to last. 5mm thick hull 4mm Sides it’s very heavy boat. I do trust Honda Yamaha and Suzuki and tohatus. I think mercury could up standards. Make them just as good when optimax came out it was call the opit pop mercury recall on those engines. I think they are still my favourite outboard in v6 range. I know people who have gone to a four stroke and they not happy with the quality of a mercury outboard. They have just stayed with there opitmax. I can’t see anything wrong with those engines.
OK here goes. I bought a questional 175 ficht. Is there a used parts place company some where. maybe Jordan could reply.
My 2018 Mercury Pro XS 115 threw a rod with 85 hours last year. I was going to get my new warranty motor (aftermarket warranty) then sale my boat with a new motor.
However the boats were still way overpriced in the fall of last year so I kept the old boat new motor. I think everyone should just Re-power for their next upgrade and teach some of these boat companies a lesson in Karma.
Still too much, I'll stick to my champion 196 and 16' smoker craft tiller boat, both are solid and run perfectly fine.
Quit financing these high dollar pickups and campers and boats and houses. Just don't buy chit. Prices will come down, or they go out of business, and so be it.
The demand is what drove prices crazy. When COVID hit, in my area, you couldn’t find a used boat that wasn’t a shit box, or priced astronomically. Supply was down, demand went up, bada bing.
@ripperace doesn't mean anyone has to buy anything that's not food, water, and shelter. Bass boats are not a necessary item. But I understand supply and demand and the greed factor.
I’ll spoil the next video. The aluminum boat under recall is the Ranger Alpha 208.
😲😲😲😲
All their aluminums leak
Damn and i was looking at them
You need to be the sandy monroe of boats
When is the Nitro Plant and build coming ?
Is it just boat prices or are there good deal on new outboards?
What about quality in the smaller new boat manufacturers like XPRESS? Actively searching for a near new 21 footer but being patient. Your over under reviews have been instrumental in my choice for my final bass rig... unless Champion comes back.
This is going to happen with houses next! Mark my words it is just around the corner.
Everything is in cycles, people make and loose money no matter how’s the economy just hope you’re in a good position at the time
I'n not sure about that. The clowns in DC just added about 10 million illegals to this country. They will have to live somewhere.
Andy,What did you do to your arm?
Brother I’m fixing to buy a 2013 Xpress X19 and it has a 175 Yamaha HPDI on it. Do you recommend it or should I pass?
Andy I have a show idea. Being that you just mentioned it would be wise holding off on buying new and just running the used boats we have “for now,” I’ve got an early model 93 Astro bass boat in showroom condition. Owned it 7+ years. I’ve also owned several older used boats before, but never had any kind of insurance on them. I just always assumed insurance companies would only insure new boats. Can you inform us if any insurance companies would insure our older model boats, and if so, how far back they’d go?
For me Progressive insured my 2000 yr model Champion. Hope this helps
@@tracywest1922 Check with your home owners company or your car insurance company. Most all insure boats no matter the age. My 1995 is insured thru Country Financial. You need liability ins if nothing else. Mine full coverage(acv)(actual cash value) is only about $90 a year.
Need them new bass cat pantera’s to get back down in the 40k range so I can buy one.
There working on it. They finally got a fully loaded 20ft boat under 80k ready to tournament fish
I bet it's the Xpress, but I have a h22b bay Xpress it goes 55 and it can take 4 ft waves in the gulf, and I get in 6-inches of water perfect marsh boat I love it, but their trailers are junk.
No the industry screwed us and they should drop dem prices knew this was gonna happen. Same thing going to happen to housing. Im about to repower no way I'd buy a new boat since 2020
Ikon boat finish quality is super, but the lx21 hull that I have is the worst boat I have ever owned. You will spend more time trying to solve the balance/porpoise/listing issues with this boat than you do fishing. Ikon will give you a list of things to try (yourself), but none have worked. They better give better customer service after the sale or they won’t be in business long. Instead of them sending someone down to Louisiana to ride in or possibly take boat back to resolve issues they email out a list of things for the customer to try which is ridiculous when buying this type of boat. When spending this type of money on a bass boat you shouldn’t have to worry about balancing out the weight perfectly in the boat so that it won’t list going down the lake not to mention the porpoising issues it has from 25mph to around 40mph. I know my champion/rangers/phoenix boats that I had you just loaded the boat and went fishing without any of these problems. Very very unsatisfied with ikon lx21 and the ikon company. Not sure how the boat you tested didn’t do this or maybe I got a lemon not sure !
I have a 97 warrior that I just paid 7400 for it and I’ll repower before I ever pay more for a boat than I paid for my house
The ranger alpha. Guranteed.
It always starts at the top and rolls down hill
I hope to order a new ranger early 2026 so hopefully prices are good. Hey you're bleeding, you ok?
Why
@@bigbuck2720 I do not like how the other boat brands look or are laid out. Fished with my father on his ranger growing up, he had to sell and I'm not done fishing with my father yet. They're also not $130k
Watched this twice. Love your attitude and foresight. Glad to hear that you are out there for us. Waiting for the next one.
Same thing is happening to the truck market.
This sounds like a typical life in construction! That I have been part of for 50 years. Feast to famine! 😅
The industry is on the verge of bankruptcy
Not to mention ins value could get one screwed
Exactly the same as housing market of 2009
My suggestion is don’t buy anything post 2019 built that’s boats cars anything.
The CEO don’t care because they don’t pay the price
about 4 yrs ago things started going up in price, mostly because of price increase in transportation cost. Everything is transported from one place to another. Lets see if we can get someone elected that can reduce fuel cost. You Know!
Spot on!!! Everything is transported from China so Trump put tariffs on countries to strong arm them and we have high inflation so I’m beginning to believe our own government is behind the BS
You mean 6 years ago during covid. Folks had a ton of time off and fished nonstop.
