1:17 - "After She Finished", "The Judge Banged The Gavel", and "Opened Oral Arguments" were some of the movies. That was the best joke of this segment, and it didn't get the love it should have.
i replayed that a few times, that was one of the best written/delivered jokes i’ve heard. loved it 😂
It wasn't delivered well
It required people to remember what he just said and parse it into bits. The pause before the laughter was just them trying to process what they heard.
He botched the delivery, and he realized it and soon as he finished.
I lost it!!
That one audience member having the time of their life felt like the overarching storyline of the entire segment

The problem with that joke was the use of the word "intervention"--most people will think "military intervention" because they've heard that phrase nonstop for the last month. My first reaction to the joke was a blank stare. Took me 15-20 seconds to get it by which time he was onto the next joke.
In all fairness to Donny Boy..he probably tried to use protection...but it most likely kept falling off.

Jam packed with what SNL does best esp the RFK Jr shot at the end. Back to the fast pace and well done. I liked the movie title joke, but that one time Che should have slowed it down. Anyway, One of the best Weekend Updates ever and getting better.
