For a young city like Uyo to be compared to Abuja ( NIGERIA'S CAPITAL ) is even a plus for Uyo in itself...... the Development of Uyo started with Godswill Akpabio as Governor merely 16 years ago.
This is a testament to the fact that Sub Nationals can be developed if we vote in good Governors

I think a lot of people misunderstood your question?Abuja and Uyo city are both lovely cities. If you are to compare on the basis of cost of living then I will go with Uyo city. Uyo city is less expensive and affordable. When it comes to economic opportunities, infrastructures, structural development and social development and all facets of development then you give it to Abuja.

For Uyo to be compared with Abuja (Nigeria's seat of government) is quite audacious. That means Uyo has come a long way, considering it doesn't see even 1/20 of the funds that Abuja sees, not to talk of presence of embassies, NGOs, several government parastatals.
Uyo is nice, but I won't go as far as comparing it with Abuja as at May 2024. It simply no match for Abuja at all. The only advantage Uyo would have over Abuja is that it's more affordable to live in. But if you're talking about infrastructure, Abuja is simply in a league of its own with Lagos being the next infrastructure. After that. You'll talk of Port Harcourt, Kano, Kaduna, Ibadan. Notice that the cities I listed here are all much bigger than Uyo and older with certain industries or economic goals that are unique to them.
Abuja should be compared with other African national capitals that are different from their respective commercial cities. Such as Yamasoukro, Dodoma, Yaounde, Cape town. You can also bring similar cities from other continents like Brasilia and Canberra and Washington DC

I think both cities are good, it depends on what you want, i feel like abuja is for peole who wants to make more contants and top up their wealth game. For Akwaibom? I just think its a resting place or a place to retire

@@nyaknnoaffia7377 I think you don't even understand my point. Uyo doesn't even come any close to Abuja. There are cities that are at Uyo's category, but Abuja, No na! Even Lagos dey follow Abuja for back and you are talking about Uyo. Let's even look at the few things Uyo is proud of:
Your roads are like child's play to abuja roads.
Your stadium can't stand Abuja stadium.
      Don't even go to buildings.
I live in Abuja and been to Uyo they are not to be compared at all. Uyo still dey learn work.
I am not saying Uyo is bad, NO. Uyo is better than many state capitals but leaving your comparison with other state capitals to come to compare with Abuja, the federal capital is very laughable.
You are right to say other state governments are bad, that's true. But to think you can stand where Abuja stands, is very laughable and you are deluding yourself.

@@nyaknnoaffia7377 Oga, everybody can compare anything to anything. Uyo can even be compared to New York by just any drunkard. It's you, who takes pride of Uyo being compared to Abuja by a content creator that is looking for views, who baffles me. How can you take pride in error?
There are other states capitals that are more developed than Uyo, eg, Lagos, Port Harcourt, even Calabar and Kaduna. You didn't find it worthy to compare to such state capitals, it's Abuja that you are heading to!! Yet you come to take pride and insult people because of what a content creator did for clout?
      Very funny and laughable.

@@AfricasRealitiesI agree with you on a lot of issues raised. But if I heard right, the vlogger is talking about living conditions, not infrastructures. Moreover, you talked about the stadia. In all honesty, the Uyo stadium is currently the best in West Africa, and one of the best in Africa. It's not in terms of seat, but in design and beauty. Uyo stadium is a 30,000 seater, while Abuja stadium is a 60,000 seater.
Uyo stadium is built as a replica of Allianz in Germany. Why do we think it's home to the Super Eagles? Many factors are considered. It's famously called NEST OF CHAMPIONS.
