    I’ve watched dozens of Camino videos as I’ve thought about and planned my own walk. And this one, Henry, is easily my favorite. You’ve captured the actual feeling of a long walk without the usual Camino cliches. Capturing all that footage must have been difficult and I appreciate your willingness to share. Nicely done!

    I love your video. No stupid selfies and so wonderfully unpretentious. I did the camino in march 2016. The weather was better than in 2018. More sun and drier, but cold - around 0°C - all the time. Over the Montes de Oca and around O Cebreiro it was heavily snowing, as if I had been somewhere in Scandinavia.

      Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I expected all 4 seasons on this trail. And got it. I try to stay incognito on my videos. It's about the trail not the hiker.

    Magnífico, maravilloso video. Le guardo como favorito.
    Al carecer de música y comentarios invita a la reflexión. ¡Qué recuerdos del Camino!

    Henry, thanks so much for your wonderful video. It captures better than just about anything the experience of daily walking, through all kinds of terrain, rural and urban. I especially like the audio, without comment - and the footsteps - so much a part of my memory of walking a year ago, though much nicer weather (September-October).

      Thank you. I perfer the ambient noise while i hike, footsteps, birds or the wind. As for the weather and terrian it is always "come what may".

    Great video Henry! I wish I was brave enough to walk the Camino out of season. I'm going back in September, after a three year break, to walk it again. Perhaps one day I will return and walk the Camino in winter. Thanks for showing it!

    Interesting trek. I walked the same Camino Frances but started on the 29th of March from StJdP. I noticed that you had some paths opened when you walked the Via Val Carlos to Roncesvalles. Unfortunately for me they were all closed making that part longer by 4km. Though, You seem to have more snow than I did but my first 10 days were frought with near freezing temperatures early in the morning, windy mornings, rain, some sleet, two small blizzards, and light overnight blankets of snow, enough to turn the paths into a muddy mess by late afternoon. One noticeable difference was the amount of peregrinos on the path. There were considerably more peregrinos as I approached mid of April and tons more by the time I got to Sarria.

Hermoso video ULTREIA

      Thank you, i am glad you enjoyed watching it. I used a combination of three different cameras, that is why there are variations of the short clips. Whenever i hike i take a Go Pro5, a Contour Roam and my iphone6.

      I can answer that. One of my caminos was in April 2016 in a snow storm from sjpdp to burguete. The napoleon route was closed because of the storm so I walked the valcarlos route over the pyrenees. It was not funny - but it was not hard. With constant snow and wind there was no place to rest - so it's just walk and walk. Remember winter clothing and maybe something to cover your face. After Pamplona the weather is quite different - temp. went up to 25 degrees.

    Did you go over Pyrenees with so much snow? ;O

    • @henrycole7015
      @henrycole7015  Před 6 lety +1

      The high Napolean Route of Day 1 through Honto-Orisson on the Camino Frances is strictly out of bounds from October to April. The alternate route through Arneguy-Valcarlos that winter Peregrinos have to take goes along highway N-135 to Roncevalles. This lower elevation route in the Pyrenees still gets snow as the weather and moisture come off the Atlantic Ocean.
