11:00 I love your island because it feels more personal. You interact with villagers and decorate for holidays every year. The islands that are created just for themes look nice but it feels like forced perspective more than a home.
I also thought i would mention, as a loyal youtuber who goes ALLL the way back to the kyle hunt. I’m in love with your island and decorating style. It’s really inspired my home island a lot! :)

I actually really enjoy your decorating! It's more simple than some of the intricate and super detailed designs, but your more open style allows for easier movement and changing decorations easier with the seasons!
I agree :) Amanda’s style makes me personally want to tone down my island because mine lags way too much. It’s very accustomed to her also, there’s no set theme and that’s so inspiring👏🏻

My heart broke. Daisy is my queen forever. I feel like the design is top notch in her case, despite being simple. Similar to how Amanda was describing Marshall… so why the Daisy hate?! PS I loved this video format and the decorating at dark is a great vibe.

ok here's some of my unpopular opinions:
-i don't like audie
-barold is adorable
-i think the ac community spends too much energy on finding "aesthetic" villagers and making their entire islands fit a theme (this is part of the reason why i want to abandon my original plans for a cottagecore island and just make the builds and have the villagers that i personally like)
-i think sasha's default outfit looks bad on him (but if i ever got him i would probably just dress him up in little outfits until he stopped wearing the letter jacket so its fine)
-the gorillas have by far the worst villager models, but some honourable mentions include the eagles, the tigers, the lions, and the monkeys
-hhp is only worth it if you're really into interior design and we need to stop pretending that everyone needs to buy it. granted, i like interior design and i love hhp, but if you're really not that into making houses then you shouldn't feel any obligation to get it whatsoever
-this might just be the gorillaz fan in me, but i think del is pretty cool (his name reminds me of del the funky homosapien who's hands down one of the best collaborators that gorillaz has ever had)
-scoot and joey are awful and ugly
-ione isn't my favourite, i think she's really cute except for the weird hair and the shade of blue they chose for the tips of her ears (although she apparently glows in the dark which is super epic)
-julian is overrated
-tank is my bff and i will love him until the end of time
-the robots are cool, but cephalobot deserved to be a jock

I think Wendy is one of the cutest sheep. She used to live on my island, but now she's on my mom's island, and is currently her favorite villager. She, Willow, Dom, Etoile, Eunice, Timbra and Pietro are the few sheep I do personally find cute. As for the monkeys, while they aren't any of my favorites, I still think they're cute.
I honestly really love the way you decorate your island, its simple yet has the right amount of sceneries and attractions that isabelle gets on your ass to put on an island LOL,, this was a great video!! I also have to say I most definitely fell for raymond's hype as well. I actually got him on a very short villager hunt of 3 nook miles tickets! Also also, I'm designing Kyle's vacation home rn! It's interesting... I hope I do it justice

My unpopular opinion is that sheep villagers are my favorite. I have an all sheep island and I just love them so much, maybe because they are the underdogs, or just because my favorite animal is the big horned ram.

I actually think that the beauty of the diversity in the villagers is that everyone has their own opinions about who is the best...as soon as I started playing I fell in love with Pudge and I was so shocked at first that it wasn’t universally accepted that he was the best. I’ve been playing animal crossing since the very first GameCube one, back where you had zero control over what villagers you got, and the fact that we can control it at all is amazing! At this point I just think it’s great that we all have our own favorites. We like different ones aesthetically, we like different personality types, etc... If we all liked the same ones, we’d all have the same villager lineup on our islands.

Like you‘re one of the few CZcamsrs I can fully watch instead of putting the video on in the background and just listening to it on the side. I‘ll be going to Uni soon and I don‘t make much with my gap year job, but I wanted to say this on behalf of the people who really love you and your content, but can‘t support you atm. You‘re great, the way you play the game is so comforting to see as I’ve been playing in a very similar way since I got into AC as a kid and I‘m so glad I found your channel!
26:06 the thing is he only has that name in the english spanish & dutch versions of the game (& named jacques in italian & german) while in asian languages his names are chinese based. his clothes are chinese HIS HOUSE IS CHINESE. the team didn’t have jacques cousteau in mind when making him at all. just the localizers
I decorate it n a somewhat similar way to yours. If I had to say I have a theme, I would say city core, just because I have custom paths that make roads on my island. But I am not the best at decorating. I leave space to change seasonal decorations and enjoy having space to roam around my island. Yours is inspiring, really. It shows an island can be beautiful, even if it isn’t “Instagram perfect”

Honestly, it would surprise yall to know that those Instagram islands are just spots of good photogenic areas but mashed together? The islands just don’t flow well or look good when you visit them. Tbh, Amanda your island inspired mine and clearly a lot of others because it transitions well with each area.
On the “ugly villager take” I do understand the shallowness because some people take it too far with either side, like I’ve had people give me strong heat over the fact I love Limberg. He’s one of my favorite cranky boys and the reason I love him is because he’s quite literally based on Limburger cheese. Which is a foul smelling cheese and it’s very potent 😂 I love that a developer looked at Limburger cheese and made a mouse that has after shave and a “stinky” aesthetic. It’s such a cute reference/idea but I’m afraid to have him on my island because people are mean

I'm sorry but I gotta defend the robots(mainly Ribbot) for a minute. Ever since I met him Ribbot has been an absolute darling on our island, showing up after Rory left(Rory was straight up Joe from YOU). and unlike the other jocks I've had, HE ACTUALLY WORKS OUT and the irony is that he can't grow any muscle bc he's a robot which is both cute and sad. Ribbot is such a good boi and as soon as we find out who made him he will be getting some buff upgrades.

I actually like the grayish grass in acnh. Because it's so neutral a natural looking island is so much easier for me in fall. With the overly green grass in summer I feel like the island looks more "fake" ig? Idk I feel like summer grass fits kidcore and general colorful islands but not mine

One villager that I LOATHE is Naomi. She autofilled one of my houses and she scared the shit out of me. Her eyes are so dead and lifeless with the yellow around them looking like pus or slime or crust around em. And her lips! Oh god her lips terrify me. I have a deep seeded hatred for her because it took FOREVER to get her to leave

I think Penelope is adorable. She's definitely one of the cutest mice (which I don't get why this species is so hated aside from a few.) I never thought anything about her fur being the color of dead flesh, I always just saw it as a natural mouse color. She and Rod are a married couple on my island. If there's one opinion I have that I know you might hate me for, it's that Rodney is my favorite villager, and I traded Kyle (who was my starting smug) for him. I'm sorry. ^^;; I don't have anything against Kyle, it's just that I had Katt (who was my best friend in New Leaf) and it felt redundant to have two villagers who always wore black, and had that music theme going. I think he works better on your island. The reason I wanted Rodney was because I saw him constantly being called one of the ugliest or worst villagers, but I found thought he was cute despite him looking a bit quirky, and ever since he moved to my island, he's grown to be one of my favorites. He has a game room, and his vacation home request is a movie studio. He's a complete geek which makes him the kind of villager I want to hang out with.

Hello! I just wanna say that I totally agree with the decorating thing! I mean like not everyone has the time to make crazy builds and whatnot. I say that Animal Crossing is that type of game that is meant to be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of "great builds" or not. Like one of my best friends works a lot and can't play that often. I, still recovering from an intensive surgery, play a lot but not all the time. Some days I play a ton, and others not so much because of really bad headaches. So in saying that, not everyone has time or endurance to play constantly. I have worked on some pretty nice builds for my island. Like for me, I like creating builds and houses based off video games or something that has very big significance in my life.
For example I made a Mario's Rainbow Castle build as it gives me fond memories of my late cousin and late father. Then there are these Kid Icarus-esque builds that I am working on as I have some characters I created inspired from said series. My point here is that people go at their own pace for ACNH and I think that's how it's meant to be. Everyone is allowed to enjoy this game as they so please. People should just be able to just make islands they enjoy and be happy. Animal Crossing is all about chillaxing and having a good time :)

My unpopular opinions are I love Goose, Wart Jr., and Tutu, and I think Pocket Camp has better features in some ways. Your animals actually *use* the items you put out. I swear they made it so you have to play Pocket Camp along with New Horizons to be completely satisfied. 🤔
im glad villagers arent mean anymore lmao, i remember a lot of people complaining about it but i need that kindness and reliable friendship from them, also take it from someone who had one, instagram islands suck to play on lmao, or at least mine do, besides, theres something so nice about more basic, classic styles of decorating :)
